We have them terrible here too Winnie. All around the garage every year. I need to get some of those bee traps but they are pricey just for one. I've been spraying but that doesn't really do the best job on them.

Marilyn, your rose bush is lovely! That's what I'm hoping my 4 climbing roses will look like someday!
We won't have roses for at least 6 weeks yet...thank you for sharing pictures of yours!

Bobbie and I went to Betty's today and my great niece and family were there. So good to see the triplets. Wade, her husband, had knockout roses for us. They were there when they bought their wee homestead. He used the shotgun method and 27 cuttings rooted. He has a green thumb. I'll put my in a large container and hope to find a sunny spot for it.

You need to check them out Denise. They are modern, but beautiful and seem to bloom a lot.

On Connie it is beautiful...I love the way wisteria flowers fall like grape clusters. When I was a newly wed, we rented a little house in Midland Texas. It was surrounded by a cement tile fence. In the spring this enormous trunk of a thing burst forth with the most beautiful flower clusters. The trunk had long vines that ran along the top of that fence and those huge clusters hung all along that fence.I would sit on the tiny porch and watch it in the afternoons. I was smitten. You're is beautiful!

Marilyn, what a lovely memory! It reminds me of grape clusters also. My Granny always had it growing in her yard. She pruned one into a tree! I just remember the bumble bees always buzzing around it!

My iceberg climbing rose is blooming now...all of this rain, thunder and lightening, or God likes beautiful flowers even more than us.
I have been noticing all of the pretty wild flowers by the road on the way to the highway. I have also noticed the huge leaves on the Eglish ivy and also that kudzu that grows up the tree trunks, I have never seen such big leaves.in fact today I commented, to myself and God...are we in the tropics???

When I had My pumpkin patch out by the lane, a couple of years ago, the bees and bumble bees were so busy. I love to watch fat bumblebees at work. Many years ago I planted some David Austin English roses. One Sunday afternoon I found a huge, very sleepy bumblebee taking a nap in a big blossom.

The wisteria has begun to bloom here filling the woods with beautiful purple clusters. I love when the smell floats on the breeze. You step outside and it smells wonderful. Our azealas are in full bloom. I still dont see many bees but there are a few. Sadly the lilacs are about done.

Bumble Bees are why my Wisteria looks so great this year! I took a video of them buzzing around, but I can't get it to post here. it gives me an error 404.

I have a lot of morning glories and other wild flowers growing in my pastures along the fence lines. One thing I have that I would like to get rid of are the wild blackberries that continually squeeze out my good plants in my flower garden area. And with all this rain they are really growing like weeds. Anyone have any remedies to get rid of them? The master gardener at Lowes said anything that would kill the blackberries would also kill everything else if it got wet and went into the soil. And with this rain - that's inevitable.

Are you sure you want to be rid of them? What will the birds eat then?

Betty fights wild blackberries all the time. Give them an inch and they take over the whole garden.

Saw two butterflies the other day not feasting on my herb flowers but checking out my little compost container. The top leaves had blown off and the butterflies were after the overripe banana.
