Please keep Shannon’s Son Will in your prayers as they are rushing him to the Rapid City ER with an eye injury. He was hit in the eye with a dowel rod and it is cut and watering blood.
I will keep you posted.
Thank you Wildflowers.

Big Hugs,
Debbie

Update: There is bleeding into the iris. Abrasion to the cornea. They are trying to get ahold of someone else right now.

Yes I believe Shannon texted Rapid City? I will have to double check that.
Hopefully a specialist will be there soon.

They were flown to Denver Children’s Hospital last night which is one of the best in the nation.
But, he regained his vision and they are sending him home, he needs to be reseen on Monday. They are waiting for a friend to pick the up and take them home. Such a Blessing, but continued prayers are needed.

Thank you guys so much for your prayers!!! I'm copying and pasting what I wrote on the main forum, because, well, because I'm being lazy, lol

Thank you all so much for the prayers!!! What an ordeal, but our God is great! In Rapid City we were told Will would probably never regain his vision in his right eye. His cornea had an abrasion and there was bleeding in his iris. The pressure in his eye was too high which was damaging his optic nerve. He could "see" light (more it bothered him than actually seeing it) and that was it. So we were flown to Denver Children's Hospital. By the time we got there, God had given Will back his vision! They got his pressure in his eye down to normal, and a clot had formed in his iris. For the next few days (until at least Monday when he gets reevaluated), we have to use drops to keep his eye dilated, so as not to dislodge the clot, and other drops to keep his pressures down. We also have to keep his head at a 30 to 45 degree incline and he cannot do any strenuous activity. They will be doing an additional test on Monday to check to see if there is any damage to his drainage system in his eye. The fact that we were able to get a ride home from Denver was a miracle in itself! Brad had not slept in 24 hours... he was in no shape to drive 6-8 hours to come get us and then back... so a friend drove down to get Will and I to bring us back!

I wanted to give you guys an update on Will... he has traumatic glaucoma. Basically he will be on medications for the rest of his life to keep his pressures down so that he doesn't go blind... If/when the medications stop working, he will have to have surgery. This is a lot for an 11 year old to take in and deal with! Shoot, and to be honest, a lot for us as his parents to deal with as well!
