My Mom is letting me display one of her most beloved treasures! Wedding Ring Quilt, completely hand sewn by my Grandmother-Margaret Deese, My Great Grandmother-Nora Patton and my Great Aunt Mattie Lee Deese. My mom help cut some of the squares. She was a little girl. It was Made in the late 1940's, early 1950's. My Granny gave it to her sometime in the 1980's. Nora Patton taught all of us how to cut out Quilt Squares at some point. I was 5 when she taught me. I can only imagine the Time and the Love that went into it. Except the backing, It was made entirely of scraps from dresses, curtains and aprons, sorta like Dolly Parton's "Coat of many Colors". This was right around when WWII ended, people were still in the mode of saving everything! In our family's case, we were raised not to waste anything!! I can almost hear them talking as they sewed, about canning Chow-Chow and Peaches, Grandchildren and their neighbors on Wheeler Street.

Connie, that is beautiful. My mother ordered a pattern and made one bound in red. She told me it was the most difficult pattern she had ever used. I have it to the newly weds!
I love the colors in your mom's quilt.the

Thanks Darlene! I use my vintage pyrex bowls and stuff of my grannies. When I"m gone unless Lily june takes a liking to all my vintage things, she seems too already, they will go to the goodwill, but that's ok too, somebody who loves it will be so happy to find it!! Hugs!
