Are any of you planning on joining the new book club via Facebook that was mentioned in this current Sister Issue called FarmgirlBookClub? It sounds like fun!

Good Morning, Debbie I just joined and was trying to figure out what book I wanted to read.
Which one are you thinking about? I am leaning towards The Road to Bittersweet.

Big Hugs,

I had a hard time deciding but I ended up getting The Last Suppers. I also got 2 of the alternate books just bc they sounded amusing, Bless Her Heart and Better Dead. I'm glad you joined!

I found the article and joined the FB group but doubt I'm going to try to participate this month. Maybe next. I'm feeling like I'm at my max for Jan and trying to avoid getting stressed :).

Joyce, I'm hosting them on FB as well, I have one that is reading chronologically through the Bible (and Bible Journaling but that is optional) and one where we are reading through The Life Giving Home together one chapter a month. We will also be doing another book every two months in that same group starting in February-all books are faith-based and related to homemaking, motherhood, marriage, etc.

These are all in conjunction with my blog so the information on them is posted there and if you aren't on FB you are welcome to read along and post your thoughts on the blog post instead but will miss out on some discussion topics. As of right now, I believe it is the first two posts.

February and March will be Passionate Housewives Desperate for God (can't remember the author off the top of my head). I will post a schedule on my blog for the year in the next couple of weeks.

Debbie, firstly, Congratulations on being chosen 2018 FGOTY! Wow! I am so happy for you!

Then, yes! I plan to join the FG Book Club. I just "loaned" my new MJF mag to my daughter, so will have to look up how to join the club. How do I get to the FB page? I have been thinking about reading "The Last Suppers" and "The Road to Bittersweet". However, I could probably read them all ...being a voracious reader.

Judith, thank you!!!
The Facebook page for the Book Club is called FarmgirlBookClub. Just type it into your facebook search. I ordered The Last Suppers and I got over half way through it yesterday ( I had time to sit and wait in the pickup). After reading the first page, I wasn't sure if I was going to like it or not but I am really enjoying it. I ordered Better Dead and Bless Her because I thought they sounded funny. But they might have to wait until I get the The True History of Chocolate finished.

I can't commit to a book club right now, but I really want to work on the bibliophile badge! That sounds right up my alley. I have an herbal book I want to read through before planting season starts. I wonder if that would count as my nonfiction? Probably, right?

That is a perfect "winter months" badge to work on! Curl up under a blankie with a book and a cup of tea. Sounds so cozy. I wish I could do it right now!

I am reading The Road to Bittersweet for MJF
Farmgirl book club. It too is a real good book and fast read. The next one I will read is The Last Suppers thanks to Debbie lending it to me. I am almost finished with my book.

Debbie

I just finished The Road to Bittersweet it was so good. It held my interest from the beginning to the very end.
Now I am reading the True History of Chocolate for our HH Merit Badge Carpe Chocolate. Now quite as good as the road to Bittersweet.

Debbie, I'm glad I'm not the only one who is feeling that way about The History of Chocolate! After reading The Last Suppers, it is definitely a MUCH slower read.

I need to keep pushing through my chocolate book. I've never been super interested in the history of the Aztecs and Incas.

I don't have the book yet. I should be able to get it Wednesday I hope. It's kind of funny though because we've been reading about the Aztecs and the Incas for school, so I kind of have the cliffs notes already!
