Marilyn, what essential oils are you using? (not brand)
My dad, the gem, drove me home (an extra 2 hours driving for him). He is a wonderful, wonderful man!
The Oktoberfest is across the street this weekend so I'm putting the finishing touches on a few of my items and of course going full on crazy thinking I don't have enough and starting new items. I really hope I have a good show. I'm trying to get as many of the items as I can photographed and put in my Etsy shop so that I can take credit card payments at the time, too. It's supposed to be perfect weather both days, so, God willing, this will hold.
My belly is leaking again so I guess I will need to make another follow-up on Thursday to get it re-sutured. Monday I go into hospital for the extended EEG. I could be in 5 - 7 days but if they see the seizure activity they need, they'll release me earlier. That will be a bore. I wish I could pack up all my sewing and crafts and take them with me. LOL
I think of all of you often and smile. Have a great day! |

Today I am thinking about all I need to finish before we leave on Friday, the 27th, for Galveston; then our 14-day Carnival cruise leaves the 28th for the Montego Bay Jamaica, Aruba, Curacao, Cartagena Columbia, Panama Canal, Limon Costa Rica, and Cozumel. I can't wait! I need to pack next week, but this week trying to get everything together we will need and decide what to take.
The RV needs to go in for servicing while we are gone so we can use it when we return. Ed's job is to fix the steps (they won't retract into the RV) so he can take it to the service center.
Also, we are splitting the cost and buying a John Deere tractor with a trailer and three attachments from one of the doctors that Ed works with. It is 48 HP. 4-WD, and has an A/C cab. We may need to pick it up before we leave if the doctor needs to get it out of his driveway. It is HUGE! Ed says the first thing he is going to do is mow my pastures - and they really need it! Ed has been wanting one for a long time, and he will teach me to use it - one reason for the training? He often drives his 4-wheeler through his pond and gets stuck, so he said I will be able to pull him out with the tractor. LOL! Maybe I should just leave him there for a bit?
On Wednesday the 25th Ed has to take his Cinderella carriage (yes, he has one) to the church for their Fall Festival. He will borrow my son's trailer and load it up on Tuesday. He rents it out for birthday parties (so far not too often) and the kids love it. At the fall festival the kids love having their picture taken in it.
Lots to do and only 1-1/2 weeks to get ready. |

Katie, Praying all goes well with the follow up and the EEG.
Linda, sounds like you have a busy time ahead.
Today I am doing laundry and getting ready to go see the Ohio kids and grands. Can't wait! The stairs will wait til I return. Or maybe my son will take pity on me and do them for me. The sun has finally made an appearance but has brought some very chilly weather with it. I'm ok with that. I love my sweaters.

Yesterday Aly got her cast off, yay, and then we spent the afternoon visiting with friends. We don't do that very often, as we I've 45 minutes out of town. It was such a nice treat!!! Today I'm canning my beef broth, finally, and making butter. I also need to sit down and make a list of gifts I want to make for Christmas. I'm running out of time! Hubby and I started the frame for the chicken coop last night. We only have about an hour window to work on it each night, but eventually we will get there :) Hopefully it will be done before we get lots of snow!!!
Marilyn - I too am interested in learning what oils you are using. I'm hoping to se some after my surgery to speed things up. Hopefully you are doing well <3
Katie - what a blessing your dad is <3 Love love love it! Praying your show is productive!
Linda - oh how fun your cruise will be! Hubby and I went on one for our anniversary (a 7 day one) and it was glorious! So relaxing to get away from it all and just relax!!! I love that Ed has a Cinderella Carriage! How awesome is that!!!
Denise - we will pray your son as pity on you ;) Maybe he really will!?!? And do it to surprise you!?!? |

Linda you will love that tractor. I have one I use for all my yard and garden work and wonder how I ever got along without it. I use a trailor so I can haul it between farms since I do the yard work at both places. Enjoy your cruise.
Katie I am hoping your hospital stay will not be long.
Denise, enjoy your trip, I need to plan one to visit grandkids as soon as harvest season is over.
Shannon, good to hear Aly got her cast off. Those little ones heal so much faster than adults.
We will finally finish harvesting soybeans this week. Than a few days break before corn. I have most of the garden cleaned out, just a few potatoes to dig yet. We had a young family over yesterday to finish picking apples. They picked 7 laundry baskets full and that is after my daughter and I took what we wanted. They are coming back later this week to pick the cabapples, which are just as big as the apples. I am glad they didn't go to waste as they do some years.
Have a great week everyone.

That's great that you let someone come and get the crabapples and apples. Great for them, too. I hope to really enjoy the tractor. I hope to learn to mow the pasture myself so I can keep up with it.
Can you use your computer in the hospital to keep in touch with us and maybe make the time go faster?

Linda, your upcoming trip sounds like lots of fun!!
Katie, I am praying you can get your wound and seizure problems under good control soon. Hugs for you as you get this wound revisited soon since it wants to keep leaking.
Shannon, you have been super busy preparing for Winter and a new baby. Glad to hear that Aly is doing much better.
Julie, glad to hear that you all are wrapping up the harvest season. It must be such a good feeling to see all of this year's planting work coming to a proper completion. Boy, I wish I could have come and picked a bunch of apples!! I have so many recipes I want to try.
Denise, enjoy your visit with the grandchildren!
Today, I had lunch with Rebecca White, Beccalou, who is a Farmgirl here at MJF. She loves to do the swaps with quilting and cards over on the main forum. We try and get together once a month at Cracker Barrel to enjoy a meal together. I had planned on taking a selfie of us and realized I left my phone at home!!! Next Month I will try and remember and do better. It is always fun to get together and chat about this and that. |

I just wanted to say Hi, it's been crazy here, like it has for so many of you the past few months. My daughter got a divorce. she and Lily june will be living with us for a few months while they find a place of their own. I got stung by a hornet, still have a cold. Ms is flaring all over the place, that's why I have not been here much.
Marilyn, I didn't realized you had fallen. I have fell several times on my artificial knee and it is a pain that there are no words for!! prayers!!
Finally Fall temps here. I am so Happy about that!!
Connie
I keep you all in my prayers and think of you often!! |

It really is a good feeling Winnie. When you only get one pay check a year, you hope and pray for good weather, good prices and good yield. Unfortunately we don't usually get all 3, but it is still a lifestyle I wouldn't trade for anything.
Linda you will have no problem learning to use your new tractor, and you will be a farmher when you do. |

So sorry to hear, Connie. I know Lily June is used to being at your house, so that is one good aspect of them staying with you.
I wish the fall temps would come and stay here, too. |

Julie, Sounds like you still have plenty to keep you busy just now. At least it will be done soon! Maybe you can take a breather. LOL Is that even a thing in the farming life? I've never know it to be for very long. There's always something to do and prepare to get ready.
Connie, Sorry to hear that it didn't work out for your daughter. It's really the hardest on the children. Glad you are there to be her support system.

I laughed when I read about Ed and his four wheeler stuck in the pond. It reminds me of the day Hadlee stuck the golf cart in the mud in the arena. She got a chain and pulled it out with the four wheeler. My son has been looking for a new one I think he has worn his out! It has been fixed several times but it runs many miles a day.Baylee leads horses around the pastures on it, exercise for the horses, so they won't be so high strung when her dad rides in the evening. Then it makes multiple trips from their house to the barn and pastures. Some days it is a horse when he divides the cows, separates moms from big calves, etc. My son always rode horseback until he bought the four wheeler. It has become essential. |

Oops, I forgot this... I googled asking what essential oils could help my knee. A young woman with three children, one an infant, said this is what she did for her knee, when it was torn up inside: Three to four times a day, do this....... Rub Wintergreen, Peppermint, German Chamomile and Helichrysum on your knee. Use five drops of each. (I got an empty eo bottle and put lots of drops of each in it so I don't have to count drops every time.) Then between those times she would rub Lemongrass then Frankincense, layering...I guess that means put one on and wait a bit then the other. I believe it is helping!
Now last night at the visitation, I saw an older woman who asked why I am on crutches. Then she told me of a doctor in Weatherford, Texas who does stem cell therapy. She said he has helped a number of people like me. So if we arrive at a day where these doctors say surgery is necessary, I will go up to see what the stem cell doctor has to say!

Sister Betty and I went to an antique shop close to my house. I bought two aprons. A half apron made from a Texas dish towel and a red & white check bib apron. They had more but most needed mending or were badly stain. Also half a dozen or so organdy fancy aprons. The red & white one will be a canning apron so I won't wear out the one Linda made for me. |

Sounds like a good fun adventure Sara.
Now back to my comment above about the stem cells...have any of you done this??? I read on the website that they take your stem cells from your hip...ouch!!! Then after they do ???they inject some into your painful places. I guess they freeze any left overs for later use. |

Sara, It's always fun to hit up the antique shops isn't it. Nice to have found some aprons you can put to use.
Went to the thrift with my daughter yesterday and found some nice books. I'm a bookaholic but I don't need an intervention. LOL
We took the family out to dinner last night for our daughter, Leslie's birthday, then came home to have cake and give her her gifts. It's nice to be able to spend her birthday with her sometimes instead of always having to do everything long distance. She received some nice things that she had been wanting. We finished up right before the little girls bedtime so they were quite tired out. Not sure what is on the schedule for today. Her husband,Jon has taken the day off so I'm sure we will be out doing something.
Has anyone ever heard of using amber stones as an anti inflammatory? My daughter has a necklace for Violet that seems to really work well for the teething issues. |

Canning chicken broth this morning. It's a cool 62 but with humidity at 83 it's muggy. Thunderstorms forecasted for tomorrow. Before a storm breaks the changes in barometric pressure feels like a ton of bricks has dropped on me. Right now it's not too bad but by this evening it will be.
Thanks all for the sweet words about my new 'old' aprons. I like to wear bib aprons but prefer half aprons for hanging and displaying. Don't we all have our quirks. |

I promise to be a better friend and reply to everyone soon. Know that I've been reading and keeping all of you in my prayers. I try to start my mornings with all of you, keeping you close to my heart, so that I can keep everyones needs and joys in my thoughts throughout the day.
Time is just so short. Today we pack up! If anyone gets a chance can you pop over to Etsy and give me some feedback to my items? Please know I absolutely do not expect anyone to buy anything! I'm just looking for peoples favorites so I know where to spend my time in the future. Thanks.
BTW - the hole is closed! Happy dance I'm sure your prayers helped the healing! |

Sara great find on the aprons. I prefer the bib type as well. Just seems to keep me cleaner.
Enjoy your family time Denise. It is always so special to celebrate birthdays with mom when we get older.
Katie, so happy to hear your hole is healed. Prayers will continue for your hospital stay. Please post your etsy address so we can take a look.
A beautiful 75 degree day here today and probably our last one according to the forecast. I am going to clean my windows, finish cutting back my perennials and this afternoon a very special little boy is having a birthday party. Can't believe it has been 4 years since Oliver came into our lives. He has taught us much and we are so grateful to have him. |

I am so glad to hear that the hole finally closed Katie, God is good.
We had a storm come through yesterday and rained pretty hard last night. I had a funeral to go to this morning and the sky was beautiful. it was a nice send off for my friend. I think the rain was moving down South, at least I hope it was and help put out some of those fires. Have a blessed week end every one. I love you all. darlene |

Yes, prayers do make a difference. Unfortunately, it opened back up over the weekend because I did too much standing. I'm sure it won't take long to close back up though. They cancelled my hospital stay because my secondary insurance wouldn't cover it. So now it's a fight between them and the doc. The next time I would consider going in would be February because of the holidays.
We had a beautiful weather over the weekend. God was with us and we were able to meet some new neighbors and talk with old. It was a lot of fun!
Denise, I'm glad you had a good time, sorry about the housework, LOL.
Marilyn, how are you feeling?
Sara, are you still busy canning?
Here is my Etsy address if you are interested. Not everything is on yet. It takes almost more time to photograph and describe than it does to make. I'm having a lot of fun and it's distracting me from the pain which is a crucial measure for me. It does better than any pain medicine! And, hey, fun is fun

If you have any problems, let me know.
My sad news is my best friend decided she doesn't have time for friendships. She said some absolutely hateful things to me and I'm trying to stay grounded from that. I guess you never know. The biggest blow is her son was as close to a nephew or a grandchild as I'll ever get. I loved him as family. I don't know how she's explaining all of this to him. |
