My two brothers and their family went up to Tennessee to stay at their cabin there. They took all their pets. I still have two nephews there and many friends. Haven't heard from one nephew yet. The other is in a safe place. Hoping to hear from our friends soon. Right now it is a category 3, the eye is growing which they say weakens the hurricane. I am praying it becomes a 2 or less like they are predicting. Prayers for the safety of all.

Well I hope your family is safe up in Tennessee, they are starting to have alerts up there too, Irma is very unpredictible and 500miles wide is awful, Florida isn't that wide. I am praying.

Blessings

This darn Irma has been all over the place. Today is the day it's supposed to hit the US, whichever spot that ends up being, so I hope everyone, their families, and their animals are safe. Continual prayers!

We are all hunkered down to shelter in place here in Gainesville, Florida which is 1 1/2 hours due south of the Georgia border. The brunt of the storm is supposed to hit us starting later tonight through tomorrow afternoon at a category 1 hurricane. Thankfully, we have great neighbors and we have all agreed to keep in touch to help each other if needed.

Oh gee Winnie, it is awful down there. I have watched some of the cams on Facebook, not pretty. My son in law's father stayed in Ft Myers, the cams aren't working there so couldn't watch them. I pray for all to keep safe.

Love you all.

I think the tornados have been pretty active too! And the crazy thing...no water off shore, that happened in the Bahamas too!

That is scary when there is no water off shore, I think.

Here when the ocean goes out like that we have to watch for a tsunami. They need to be careful walking out there.

Prayers continue.

Yes, the water going away from shore is very weird. Strange seeing Tampa Bay practically dry. My brother's condo is near Tampa Bay; he and his girlfriend are in NY, so not there, but worried what they will come back to. A high school friend and her husband live on Marco Island, and they, too, don't know what will be there when they get back.

Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers. I posted a few details under porch sitting today. We are so lucky in this area that the impact has lessened by the time it reached us.
