Louisiana is flooded. Friends are stuck in their house but they are staying dry.
What you say is true about grieving. I have been going through dad's things and cleaning and it helps to know I am doing my best to get things sorted and organized and donated to those who are in need of these things. I plan to be finished by the middle of September. That is my goal. Had he been living in his own house it might have taken much longer. So far all has gone smoothly. Hoping all the rest of the legal business does too.

Blessings to you Denise. I understand how hard it is to go through a paren't belongings and trying to make sure the things worth passing on go to the correct place. I hope the estate part of paperwork goes smoothly as well.

One more note before I sleep...Jamie and her family are safe and dry. Her mom lives down the road( I don't know how far from Jamie) but their water system is out. Her mom has some water to get by for a bit. River flooding is next she said. Usually there is a mass exodus from the coast ahead of a hurricane. The folks in Houston were told to shelter in place. They did. Now the mass of pickups pulling boats is enormous...going to try to help move folks to safety. People are gathering supplies to take down there.
Two heart warming stories today...a boy in his small craft rescuing pets, dogs in Alvin, Texas. The other you may have seen on Fox News where a young mother and her little girls took burgers and fries and coloring books, etc to the big Houston shelter. Her girls made friends with two little girls who were there. Perhaps she also brought the princess dresses the little girls were wearing. God is so Awesome. Sleep well tonight. God bless you all.

Ed just showed me a story about a woman with three downs children, a three-Legged dog, and a pig that needed rescuing. When she told the fireman his comment was "perfect". Then he said "I hope you are filming this." And she said yes. It's nice that she kept her sense of humor.

I am here. We have been getting pored on and flooding. We lost electricity last night but got it back this morning. I can't believe the devastation there is. Marilyn thank you for thinking of me. And everyone else. I hope everyone else is safe. I am on the verge of tears. Its horrible.

Denise I have been thinking of you. I know it is so hard to go through your Dad's things. And to get rid of things. A acquaintance told me she took her dad's shirts cut them and made a quilt out of them. Jeans also. But I have you in my thoughts and prayers.

I went to town it wasn't raining, and before I got back its pouring. Sherry are you flood over there?
Got groceries, and had to go to another store to get potato. Walmart was clean out of things. I saw a few people parked the cars by 171Hwy so they could get out. They would have to take a boat to the highway. Schools and lot of other businesses were closed.

Thank you my sissies for thinking of me. Luv u all very much.

My neighbor came over and she has kin who works for the City of Paris - a couple of gas stations are out of gas. No gas coming up from the coast. I filled up a couple of weeks ago so I am okay.

update on gas in Paris - My sister went to Kroger's and they were out of all gas except for the premium. She got what she needed.

Marlee, we have not had much rain at all. They said we would get about 5 inches but we have only had an inch so far and that has just been today. The storm went more east, so missed us pretty much. I feel so bad for all the people south of us. Anything we can do please let me know. You are in my thoughts and prayers daily. Please be safe and take care..

I wondered the same thing, Connie. My knee surgeon is the A&M Commerce team doctor and is in Florence, AL, for a football game that is supposed to be tonight. The storms are supposed to be hitting there today and he told Ed yesterday that the game may be postponed until tomorrow. I've been wondering how wet the field is.

Ok, I've hesitated on mentioning it because of everything going on with Harvey and I don't know if this is the right place, but today I think I'm getting my last gastric drainage tube out. Last year I almost died and I had a feeding tube for a year with 2 drainage tubes. I have the last one still in but at my last visit they thought I would be able to get it out. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and praying it will be true. I'm tired of having hardware hanging out of me (although I'm blessed to be alive, I know). Just think, I'll have 3 belly buttons, LOL
