I have been thinking about this for a while now and decided I would go head and post.

I'd like to host a swap having a bee or honey theme.
I know everyone here is creative and can come up with some fun things to swap.
If you are interested I will take sign ups until February 12th.
After you receive your partner you can feel free to mail your swap if it is ready, but we will have the mail out no later than February 26th.

Here are your swap partners. Bee Happy Swapping!

Denise~ I would love to sign up for this swap! I am very interested in bees and honey as well. A few years back, I ordered Mason Bees and a house to raise them. They hatched and flew away but never returned. I was so bummed out!!! LOL!!!

Oh Winnie what a disappointment. I have been thinking about this quite a lot and thought it would make a great swap idea. I hope to plant lots this year that will help the bees. I've noticed we don't have too many honey bees anymore. Lots of carpenter bees though.

Oh please sign me up. We have honey bees! YaY!!!

Winnie when you got your bees did you have a queen in it. If you didn't that is why they swarmed. That is sad. They are very interesting. Just go on line you can find a lot about them.

Denise, this is a great idea! I can't sign up because Lily June's Birthday Party for both sides of the family is at my house this year, Feb. 24th. I got a lot of house cleaning and a snack menu to work on and I'm slow! LOL!!
But I will be checking back to see all the pictures!!

Marlee, the Mason Bees don't have a queen and behave like honey bees. Once they hatch, they live a singular life in places like old trees or hollow wooden tubes. They don't build honey in hives or work for a queen either. When raising Mason Bees, you are just adding bees who will pollinate plants. They are sometimes used in agriculture as well to pollinate large crops.

I think it is a neat idea, but I don't have bees. I wanted to get bees, but never could get my husband interested. I have no ideas of what to do, so I guess I will look forward to what you ladies show us through photos.

You don't have to have bees to do the swap Marilyn. That is just a side topic.

The swap theme is bee and honey related things.

OK, since some of you know about bees, can you please tell me why honey bees (at least they look like honey bees) are going into my bird feeder, pushing birdseed out, and eating (I think) something off the birdseed in the feeder and on the ground? Here are some pictures.

There have sometimes been over 25 of the bees circling the feeder at the same time.
