No cutting, sewing, gluing, or painting. All you need is a red (apple) or orange (pumpkin) fat quarter of fabric (it can be solid color or printed), a new roll of toilet paper, and a piece of a branch (a bit thicker for a pumpkin).

1. Lay out FQ on flat surface
2. Place TP roll in middle of FQ (standing on tube)
3. Bring up all sides and corners of the FQ and poke into the tube
4. Stick the stick into the tube

Voila!

NOTE: This fabric is red, but doesn't look like it in this picture. Not as smooth as an apple, but great pumpkin. LOL!

Made it and it's easy as eating apple pie. The only orange fat quarter I had was a light colored dusty orange so I added scrapes of green around the top to mimic leaves. I save pumpkin and gourd stems that are interesting so I used one with tentacles. One thing about it there's no need to store for next year and the fabric can be used for other projects.

Yep - so easy for a child to poke the fabric in! I saw it as a pumpkin using a print fabric at a fabric store and thought that it would also make a nice apple.

This is darling, Linda! I love the simplicity of using a roll of toilet paper too to provide stability and form. I can picture a batch of them in a big basket for a easy and fun fall decoration on a porch or beside a fireplace.

It is super simple, and you can get the TP at Dollar Tree I think - nice and cheap.
