I like Mary Jane's recent idea of a photo journal and thought perhaps we should have a place to share our photos.

I love photography (although it has sort of taken the back burner). I tend to use my phone camera more than my professional camera.

I'll start by posting a picture that I took last night of our evening sky! I just love the colours! Although I don't feel I captured the actual colour, it's close.

Let's get arsty fartsy and post our work!

My cell phone camera takes sky photos, clouds, the sun, etc. I love that I can make them big, bigger and quickly discard if they are not really good. I took my husband's new Nikon camera out to photograph the sky. I was disappointed that even though it takes beautiful photos, I could not examine them in the same way I do with my cell.

Carole That is really a pretty photo, I love the colors in those clouds!

I have a new ipad mini that I can use to take pictures, I need to remember it. On June 3 we had a beautiful sunset that someone else took a picture of.It was facing the ocean at the marina in Eureka, was beautiful.

This isn't my photography but I will be sure to try to take my ipad with me to pictures more often.
I promise.

Carole, beautiful picture! I'm not a very good photographer but once in awhile I get lucky. Here's one of my favorite pictures I ever took, of one of my favorite subjects. She had just seen herself in a mirror and that was her reaction!

Amy!
How sweet! She is adorable.
Thanks made my day!

Here are some of our sky over Loleta yesterday with a bit of our town.
The big building used to be a creamery and the train went by it, and the big trucks would come and pick up the powdered milk there, they used to Make the Milk Maid powdered milk there. A horror movie was made there also. Halloween III.

Carole! Oh I love this post! I got my first camera in 4th grade! I use my 35 mm always! I have not upgraded to a phone that takes Pictures yet LOL!! Wore the winder out on my first 35mm. I am on camera #5 in 43 years! I just posted this picture on Joanne Demaio's Face book page and I won best Set-up Beach Scene for this book! I used Lily June's sandbox! I have had photos published in Cat Fancy Magazine and Local magazines. I love, love taking pictures! I'm never in any family events because I'm always behind the Lens!

Thanks Connie some of the ones on Facebook are from some professional Humboldt County photographers. They are beauties. I just have to get out there with camera at the same time when there are some good things to take pictures of.

It is nice to able to instantly delete or save the pictures now. Even on the digital cameras.

Have a good evening and looking forward to more awesome photos.

Connie, congratulations! Love the picture! I too am a lover of photography. Like you, I have been in photography since the days of films (well not from the beginning of film! lol)! Not sure you can even buy film anymore let alone have it developed professionally! I own two 35 mm (a Nikon and an Olympus). Love them both! I even still have my darkroom equipment. Love black and white photography!

Looking forward to looking at pictures! Catch you later!

Carole,
There isn't anything better I think than a black and white photograph, the contrasts are great!
I took a photography class in College and that is what I learned to develop, I loved doing that. I still have my camera but don't use it because it is hard to find the film and develop it here. I do like my new cameras though because I can delete them right away.

Have a good Saturday everyone.

This tiny little bee was having breakfast this morning. I love the things I see on my morning walks.

A little rain can straighten a flower stem. A little love can change a life.

Lovely pictures ladies! Keep them coming!

Darlene, I have to agree with you. One of my photography prof (Robert Fournier) studied under Ansel Adams. I actually took a class on Ansel's zone system and have all of my meters/cameras and film gauged to the zone system. Not sure if I will ever be able to print and/or develop B & W.

I posted a picture of the Sun on Facebook last week. My caption was something like 'the sun looked like a flower today.' Guess what...They almost blurred it out. You could no longer see the pink petals.
