For April I've picked three different badges for us to work on together. They're being posted late, but none of them are that difficult, at least at the beginning level, so I think we can do it pretty easily. All of them can be found under the "Each Other" section.

Farmgirl Grammar

Make an effort to improve your grammar and spelling. Refrain from using slang, abbreviations or text messaging language.
Use a dictionary to pick an unfamiliar word to be the word of the day. Write down the word with its meaning, and try to incorporate the word into your vocabulary. Do this daily for two weeks.

Languages and Culture

Choose a culture to research and learn more about. Research the language if they speak a different language. Learn to count to ten, and say a traditional greeting in that language.

Farmgirl Jubilee

Look up the definition of Jubilee. Share a jubilee you've participated in.
Read about the British Diamond Jubilee for Queen Elizabeth on June 5, 2012. What events took place? How did regular people participate?
Share two ideas for how to celebrate under the Farmgirl Jubilee heading in the Farmgirl chat room.

Choose any or all of these to work on for April. I know a lot of people jumped right into the jubilee badge last year, so some of you might already have that, but I thought I'd include it anyway since it's coming up next month.

For the Farmgirl Grammar and Languages and Culture badges I will have separate threads for us to post into. We can post our word of the day in Grammar, and the culture we're researching, along with the language part in Languages and Culture.

A side note about the group badges: I'm trying to choose fun ones that we can work on without a huge time commitment. Lending a hand to farm families, donating time at a retirement home, starting your own business, etc. these are things that would be awesome to work on, and we'd all love to hear about them, but not everyone can participate and make that kind of commitment. Just so you know where I'm coming from with this!

Good! I'm glad to see there's some interest in these badges. I'll work on beginner level for all three.
