We had lovely 80s yesterday and today; had the doors and windows open all day and night. It is supposed to be back into the upper 90s this coming week.

Carole, I love rain on a tin roof.my son's house has tons of insulation, so they cannot hear the rain...but
in his horse barn the lightest shower sounds like a big rain is falling.
I fell in love with the sound of rain on a tin roof when I was 14. I was alone in grandma's house when I heard the noise. I went to the door and knew what the sound was...but I also fell in love with God's perfume...the smell of rain falling on parched hot soil. So I knew then that I had a country girls heart.

That sounds lovely Marilyn.
I remember after the Colorado rains growing up how fresh the air smelled afterward.
I have only smelled it one time that I can remember here.
Today we have a pretty blue sky out there.
Have a good day!

When I was first married we lived in a trailer in the Santa Cruz mountains. It rained a lot there. I never got tired of the sound of the rain on the metal roof, although sometimes it was deafening in a heavy downfall. Our bedroom now is in the back of the house next to the patio so at night when it rains (if it ever rains again) I can lay in bed and hear the rain on the patio roof.

Looks like we might get rain for the Apple festival here. Really hoping it changes to nice weather by then.

When I woke up at 6 am it was 80°, then it began to drop. . .75°...then it very slowly came up to 81° and the north wind was pretty gusty. So many leaves are coming down, at times it reminds me of snow!
Now it is almost four pm. Temp is 86. If it drops to 54° tonite as predicted, it shall begin the decline pretty soon. So when Robert went to the store he got a huge head of broccoli. I cut one cluster off for our lunch, along with a sandwich...that's when he said, " I bought that so you could make some Broccoli Cheese soup.".. . so guess what we will have for supper.
