I love the way you have done your badges, Connie. I still have to print mine out and do something with them. You have me inspired now. |

Thanks Denise! My hands are not as steady as they use to be, so I am a little crooked! LOL! Not me, My stitching! LOL!
Linda, what about sewing the badges onto quilt blocks? Make a wall hanging, maybe.

Congrats on earning all of those badge! What a wonderful idea to sew them on your apron. It looks lovely! Although I wouldn't use that apron around the kitchen for fear of getting a stain on it!
I'll assume that hand embroidering your badges is part of working on your hand embroidery badge? I ought to get that one going! |

OK! I've decided that my plan for this year is to work on many of the Stitching and crafting badges. I have enough done already to qualify for most of the beginning and intermediate levels, I just need to take pictures and send to Brian.
I do need something for the Expert level of the Buttoned Up badge - I need some antique buttons. I need to "collect" 10 different kinds of antique buttons including at least one each of metal, wood, china, and rubber. I'll be looking for them in antique shops, but if any of you happen to have some I could barter or buy from you, that would be WONderful! I have a huge button collection that were my mothers - and I use them for various projects - but really have no antique buttons. Thanks!

Linda, (not Winnie thanks for the correction) the antique button part is the one that is stumping me! My favourite brother (as he likes to call himself - I only have one :/) buys me interesting jars of buttons when he attends local flea markets. I did take the time to go through all of my jars and did find some interesting ones. Now I just need to research to see if they are "really" antique.
Good luck in your search! |

It's Linda, not Winnie, who mentioned antique buttons. LOL! I also need to research, because some of my mother's buttons are antiques, but are often plastic or bakelite. |

You all have given me the push I needed to start working on some of my badges.
I went through my binder tonight, page by page, comparing it with the new PDF Merit Badge file. Some needed updating for the new badges and notices that I was actually missing a couple of badges! I guess I neglected to keep current!
To save trees, I didn't reprint all the pages, just the up-dated one. I keep the check list at the front of the binder:
I use dividers with pockets to separate the sections. The pockets help keep certain research documents, when required.
I use sticky notes as tabs on the badges that I'm working on and take lots of notes.
I'd love it if you would share how your merit badge binder is organized. |

Sometimes I wonder that myself, Carole. A lot is filed in file folders on my computer. If it ever crashes, I am out of luck. I do have a notebook for SPG stuff that I recently started. One of the tabs is FOR merit badge info, but nothing is filed there as of yet. LOL |

Linda, you are too funny. I have everything on mycomputer. I have a 3 prong folder for our info sheets but haven't printed anything off for my badges yet. Thinking I'll use another for the badge stuff. |

How are you all doing on the badges? I must admit, my badge work has been put to the side. But .... reading all the comments again is motivating me to get going again. Maybe tonight! Catch you later! |
