It does hurt a bit, but not long. I think it is a mix of two meds that he uses. I just know it helps, because I don't have that flashing PAIN PAIN PAIN sign going in my brain constantly. Last time I noticed that after a couple of weeks I was not taking pain meds every day, I slept better and was much more productive.

Sending you lots of love and prayers!

I started Lily's sweater, so at least I feel like I've got something rolling! :)

Happy Day!

Finished this scarf for my little lady at the nursing home, Miss Therese. I've been visiting with her since Christmas fairly regularly, working on a badge. It's just a simple garter stitch scarf but I think it came out nice. It will be part of her Valentine's package.

Happy Day!

Amy, Love your scarf!

I hope to start on Lily June's quilt, using her outgrown baby clothes. I have 2 shopping bags full! I am going to cut squares from the onesies. Some had her initials on them, and one nightgown has her name in Gingham letters, I love that one and it was from her Daddy's only sister. I am going to sew the whole nightgown to the fabric. It will be kinda scrappy. I want to make that one the center block. Her mommie had a favorite onesie that she loved, so it will be sewn in too. So excited, I saw one on Pinterest. It will be fun!

Connie, I also have a bag of little things that I have saved from my grand daughters. I also saw that quilt on Pinterest. Summer project. Several years so I did some tee shirt quilts for two families. Both had sports items from the husband's freshman college year at Texas Tech. I could not force myself to cut up those tiny shorts and tanks, so I made the quilts with large blocks for those special things to be whip stitched on, and tied all the way through at strategic points.

I am posting a photo of the two pairs of wool socks I just finished knitting for myself. They are nice and warm without being too thick for shoes or boots.

Now to get planning of what to make with that soft yummy yarn Connie gifted me in my February swap!

My second project that I finished this week was using chalk paint to finally paint my jelly cupboard . I probably bought this thing 15 years ago and it was just bare wood. I could never decide what color to paint it etc. Then, the other day, I was thumbing through MaryJane's Milk Cow Kitchen and read up on the milk paint.. So, I found Amy Howard's chalk paint at my local ACE Hardward and decided on this "School Charm" red. After painting it, I distressed the areas to make it look vintage and VOILA! I love the way it ended up.

It was fun to finally complete some projects that I have had on my list to complete!!

Oh Winnie your socks are so pretty! I want to learn to knit socks some day. Right now I am just learning some different stitches.
Your pie safe came out great. Really like the color you chose. I like the ones with the wire on the front. Mine has punched tin on the doors and it is a similar color but was not distressed. At least not till I had it for a while. Now it looks distressed from moving it around and getting bumped! LOL

Winnie, your socks are gorgeous. I plan to try my hand at knitting socks if I ever get through with the gifts I've got on my knitting list. The jelly cabinet really came out nice, I love the color! I'm also planning a quilt using bits from Lily's baby clothes (aren't we grandmothers a smart bunch!). I've been planning it for years and actually started collecting bits from mine and my daughter's things when I cleaned out attics, etc. So Lily will have little pieces of fabric from her mommy and Grammy as well as from her own. It's a cathedral window quilt, so it takes lots of little squares. Maybe I'll finish it by the time Lily gets married, that'll give me 20 years or so! LOL

Happy Day!

Love your socks, Winnie! One of the knitting/crochet kits I'm bringing home from Michigan is a sock kit - none of her sisters knits or crochets and they don't want the kits. The pattern is for a shorter top than I like, and I'm not sure if there is enough yarn to make them. I guess I could add a complementary color and make them longer? Have you ever crocheted socks? Trying to decide whether to make them knit or crochet.

I love love love your jelly cabinet. The color is perfect! I've got a couple things I want to paint with the Chalk paint - just need to find the time. Great job!

Linda, I have never crocheted socks before so I can't offer any help. As far as knitting an extension, it would be easy to just add a different color for the top part to make them longer. Just be sure that the extra yarn is the same weight as your kit yarn and will give you the same gauge. Good luck!

Yes, the chalk paint is fun to work with because you get a unique finish. Check out Amy Howards website for all the ways she uses chalk paint. Too fun!!
