Hello Wildflower Farmgirls! I live in a small town in Western Montana. I get to live on 5 acres with a great husband and two beautiful (inside and out) daughters. We are blessed to have his parents a few miles away which is so fun and helpful for us all. I love canning, crochet, gardening, hiking and camping. I work as a veterinarian in a small animal clinic. I went down to part time a few years ago making me a much better mom and wife and friend while still letting me help people by taking care of their smaller family members.

Emily - It is so lovely to "meet" you! How old are your daughters? How rewarding it must be to work as a veterinarian! My 8 yo flip flops between wanting to be a vet and an EMT. Looking forward to getting to know you!!!

Welcome, Emily. I am glad you chose your family over full time work. My niece is a nurse with a young family. She recently left her"normal" week day job, and returned to a three day work schedule. Her reason was that she missed so much of her children's lives. She never got to see her third grade child receive a school award, or be a room mother. Her three year old was always in daycare. Now he can be at home with mommy on her days at home. Vets in Texas have long days and are always on call. Horses don't get sick during normal hours. The ladies in this group are so nice. Enjoy and join in some swaps if you have time.

My girls are 8yrs (3rd grade) and 6 (Kindergarten). I do love being a vet. When I went to part-time a year or so ago I also quit taking call and working weekends. My boss wasn't thrilled but after working for him for 10 years he decided to keep me working for him but without the call and weekend shifts. I will definitely watch the swaps. I just finished reading about pocket letters which look very fun. I also can't wait to get started on badgework again.

If you sew, there is a new 10"Fabric square swap posted. We have done two in the past. This one is for two squares of Valentine fabric. It is so much fun because the envelopes come from all over the place and we have only had a couple of the same squares come in. Linda found a quilt pattern we could do without cutting them up. I made child sized quilts for Cook Children's Hospital, in Fort Worth with mine.

Hi Emily! We have a place in western Montana when we aren't in Oregon. We're between Trout Creek and Thompson Falls. How close are you?
