Darlene,

The fiber fair was fantastic. I got some hand painted merino silk mix yarn which I have no idea yet what I am going to make with it. And another hank of green variegated merino silk blend. Again no real plans except I can always use socks.

There were so many beautiful things that people had made that my head was full of ideas.

Got to spend time with my daughter and had dinner at one of her favorite restaurants in Denver so it was all good.

And the weather was good unlike Monday. Two feet of snow.

Good Morning everyone,
Winter seems to be tapping on our door today. Winds are supposed to kick up to 60 mph by this afternoon through tomorrow night. If we had snow it would be a blizzard for sure. I just peeled the last of the garden tomatoes and have them simmering for spaghetti sauce for supper, oh my it smells good in here. Need to work on a few Christmas gifts and finish designing our Christmas card so I can get them ordered. We haven't done a family picture for several years so am doing one from this summer when we were all together at the lake. Have a great day everyone!

Hugs
Julie

We had high winds and rain here yesterday, and my boyfriend's house suffered. He had many trees down, including an old LARGE oak tree that split in half and toppled on the garage and 2 trucks. Unfortunately the trucks were not insured because they were not currently in working condition. Another tree was on the electric fence, so we had to fix that last night. And others were down and branches were 50 yards from where they tore off. We were cutting up trees all day today.

Wow, Linda, the storm in your area sounds awful! I am glad that you were not injured in all the turmoil. We are now getting a lot of heavy rain bands from the same storm that ripped across Texas. Today there will be more rain and possible thunder storms as the front sort of stalls out along the Florida peninsula. Yesterday was 86 degrees again so there is a lot of heat energy mixing up with the front to deal with down here. The weather forecast promises a cooler and drier pattern to emerge come Sunday and I am keeping my fingers crossed for the change. This month has been unseasonably hot and humid and everyone is ready for some fall weather!

We think his damage was caused by straight-line winds, but not sure. And so far that's what the officer from Homeland Security said when she came out.

Wow Linda, glad you are safe, but sorry about all the damage that was done! Straight line winds can be horrible! We had high winds here and a couple inches of rain, but minor compared to what so many folks had. Strange weather for this time of the year for sure!
It's warm and sunny here today in the north Georgia Mountains, but cooler temps are supposed to be coming soon.

Well I am glad you all are ok and safe, Be careful with the winds, rain and falling trees and other things flying out there.

I was able to go to town this morning before we got some rain. Thank God for that.

Blessings all.

Linda, I am so glad you were not hurt. I am so sorry about the damage to your boyfriends property. We have tornadoes and straight line winds in Minnesota so I know bad it can be. Take care.

Straight line winds are they the ones that blow sideways instead of normal direction? If that is what they are we have had a few here. not fun to drive in.

I just wanted to say I'm sorry I haven't been present in our henhouse lately. Too many family issues and not enough time! I think of you all every day, though, and your very presence in my life helps keep me sane! Things will settle down soon (prayers welcome!) And I promise I'll be back to my old tricks soon! Thanks for being there!

Happy Day!
