Thanks Erin for the well wishes. My husband finally got his sleeping pills today. Hoping that will help. How old are your boys. I have always enjoyed Halloween, although I don't do scary, just lots of jack o lanterns, etc.

Shannon, will your family be safe, if the hurricane comes on shore around the Carolinas, or will you evacuate?

Marilyn - it totally depends on where it is going to land... watching it for now and then will decide. We are only 30 minutes or so inland, so if it hits the coast, we will certainly feel it!!!

Marilyn, my boys are 6 and 8. My little girl is three. Shannon, I didn't know anything about a hurricane (I feel like I'm in a little Midwest bubble here). I hope everything was ok for you guys!

Hi all! Lots of things happening here...two weeks ago we listed our house, next day had an offer (full-price), yesterday subjects removed and no issues! Wow - praising God for his hand in all this :) Now for the next step...where we are going to go. Would really appreciate prayers...and I'm going to be so busy packing etc. that please forgive me if I get behind on things a little bit! I hope to do up all my pocket letters before we move, so I can send them all early.

Joyce, wow! I didn't know you were planning to move! I'll be praying for you guys to be led where you need to go. Take your time with the extras... moving can be stressful, so of course we'll understand if you're behind! :)

Yes, Joyce you should have gotten it by now :( I wonder what happened. I think it usually takes 10 days. I can't remember what day I mailed it but it must have been more than 10 days ago. Let's wait a little longer and see if it gets there. When will you be out of your house?

Judith, Kathleen sent an email a little while ago that she's having computer problems and has to get another computer. That's why she's been MIA. Hopefully she'll be able to reconnect with us soon.

Oh, thanks, Erin! I remember now!

Joyce, the same thing re moving just happened to my sister in Mississippi. One day they decided to move. (Due to their son's passing in their home the year before...long, sad, story) Put the house on the Market. Had an offer the next week. Loaded up the truck and moving to Texas. They are staying in temporary quarters with their son while looking for a house. Belongings are in a storage. I will pray everything goes smoothly for you.

Yes Judith! We had Thanksgiving :) We had ours on Sunday with both sets of family - my husbands at noon, and my family at 4, so we could travel back home on Monday. We live about 5 hours from our family, which includes a 2 hour ferry ride. Thanks for asking, Judith :)

Yikes Joyce! Why are you guys moving? That is fantastic you got a offer on the house so quickly! I think you should move into the states... Hmmm Wyoming maybe ;) ahahahahaha. We have a contract on our house, with closing suppose to be on November 5th. However, due to being in a "state of emergency", lenders are not willing to give out loans right now, so that date may be pushed back :/ I so want to be done with it!

Erin - the hurricane never made landfall, thank goodness, but we got buckets of rain nonetheless... About 18-24 inches of rain in about three days time. Then a weeke later, we got another four inches. Saying we are soggy is an understatement, however it is actually around the capital of SC that really got hit hard... There are a few concerns for us locally... 1. All that rain and flooding up in Columbia is coming down here! 2. Alligators and snakes are moving in more towards homes, including rattlesnakes, copperheads, and cotton mouths. 3. The horrid fire ants built themselves into rafts on top of the water, rather than drowning, and are all over the place. 4. The bacteria, Mosquitos and who knows what else that is being spread in the standing water.

Abi - what kind of work do you do? I am a Sahm of seven, the five older ones I homeschool. Number 6 I try to keep out of trouble (full Time job... She is two) and the youngesti is almost seven weeks.

We're moving for a variety of reasons - I never really felt like I was at home here (I miss PEI a lot), we'd like to get more land, the neighbour built a driveway right next to us and took down most of the trees, so we no longer have privacy, and he's subdividing his 5 acre land into multiple parcels for houses, and we don't have a church here. We're not sure where we are moving yet - PEI is in the thoughts. We just keep praying for the Lord to lead us. I do know, I will NOT move to SC - I could NEVER deal with snakes and alligators! I would be terrified. I don't know how you do it!! I'd move to Wyoming in a heart beat if we could move to the states :) There's so many lovely places we'd love to live in the states. I used to live in Washington State for three years, but that's because my father bought a business. He's not a Canadian Citizen, so it was quite easy for him to move us all there, however, since my husband is Canadian, it would be much much much more difficult. I've always dreamt of living in Vermont or Pennsylvania :D

HATE to even post this HERE.............can y'all lift me up in your prayers ? I don't really EVER post or usually whine :-).those that know me know that even as bad as the Lupus can get, I'm a very happy joking chin up kinda gal !!! I yigh yigh................I've been having issues with liver enzyme numbers being high and we reallllllly believed it was due to the chemo medicine I was on for the Lupus........so they took me off of it, expecting the numbers would go down.........bad news yesterday........not only have they not gone down, but are 3 1/2 times what they should be now. I am a woman who has always had a great deal of faith.................but this has really caught all of us by surprise.................especially considering I actually went to the doctor for blood sugars being too low !!! I guess I should be grateful that they caught this anyway ! ha ha..... I am gonna stop here and make it positive again.........GOD IS GOOD...all the time...........ALL THE TIME...God is good :-)....................I BELIEVE in the power of Prayer and in NUMBERS of prayers !!!! I ask all of ya to please say prayers for me and my family.............I see the Liver specialist the 26th of this month. I have been extremely exhausted...so missing in action a lil bit on MJF, but now I think I truly need y'alls' positive blessings of friendship and "Sisterhood" !!! Thanx so much and again, sooooo sorry if I've rained on anyone's Happy Place !

Oh Jami! I hate that you are going through this and have to wait until Monday as well! It is so frustrating when you need to see a specialist, and it takes over a week to be seen, to get the ball rolling. It always amazes me, because I know once I started seeing a specialist, if anything ever came up abnormal, they usually got me in within 24-48 hours, with exception of that very first visit. In any case, know tat you are being prayed for... And one of thesis a surprise to God! He has this under control!

Venting in the safety of this group.... Soooo I am feeling completely overwhelmed and like a failure... granted I am sleep deprived, so that may be playing a huge part of it. Every time I keep up on schooling the kids, my house suffers. If I keep up with the house, the kids' school suffers. I am struggling to stay consistent with the children, and finding myself raising my voice and not addressing issues BEFORE I get frustrated. In my frustrations, I am turning to food. This just makes me feel worse, feeding a nasty cycle. I am overweight already and am literally eating myself into an early grave. I know this mentally, but getting past it when I am emotionally down just does not seem to work. Finding time to exercise is difficult... partially because of feeding Emi and the number of children I have and partially because I am simply lazy. I want to curl up in a chair and eat some chocolate or heavy carbs, rather than find the energy to do something about it. I need to turn to Christ, but I feel like I am failing at that as well. I am not a consistent reader or even prayer warrior right now. The only things I am consistent at right now is eating and feeding Emi ;) So why am I posting this... I dunno.... I guess I needed to get it out. My hubby, who I absolutely adore and love, blows me off. I need advice, support, accountability...

Oh, Shannon...I'm praying for you!! Shannon - if I can suggest a book to read, find time, it will change your life. It's called Sweet Journey by Teri Maxwell. I'm not very good with words, but do know I'm praying!!!

Just to let you know - I'm away on vacation, and moving on nov.25th so have to pack when I get back...and we're moving across the country...so I won't be doing any badges, and I might be quite MIA.
