Hi everyone, I am happy to have joined your Wildflower Henhouse. My name is Jeanna (Gina) and I am 49 year old wife of 29 years to my love Ken. We have 2 grown children who still live at home. Nathan, who will be 27 on the 7th, and Marina who will be 22 in July.
We have had animals and lived the country/homestead life for the last 25+ years. I do have some health issues but have devoted myself to turning my health around. I am seeing progress so I am happy for that. I sew, quilt, embroidery, cross stitch, read, and many other crafts. I love learning about herbs and wild plants and make many of my own things such as salves, spices, etc.
I hope to join in and have fun with you all.

Welcome Jeanna! I'm so happy you've joined our henhouse! I have an herb garden that I started last year, and I'm working on this year. I decided to try to make a materia medica this year for the herbs that I have in my garden, to try to get the most use out of them. I would like to use them for purposes other than strictly seasoning, which is what I have done thus far. I would be very interested in any recipes for salves and things like that that you would be willing to share! I know Sara (YellowRose) also does a lot with herbs. Maybe we should start a little herb section under projects? Just a thought... Anyway I'm very happy you're here with us! :)

Jeanna - I'm so thrilled you are part of our group!! You sound JUST like someone I'd love to meet and learn from :) I also really enjoy herbs. Erin - have you ever heard of the book "Be Your Own Doctor" by Rachel Weaver? I use a lot of herbs for that book, and it has saved many of us from having to go to the doctor. I really enjoy it. Also - an herb project would be fabulous!! Oh girls - the problem with this beautiful group is that I would so love to meet you all and gather together!!

Welcome! Welcome! I, also have an herb garden. I haven't used it for medicinal purposes, just culinary. I would love to learn more about medicinal herb use. Perhaps we should do a badge on this sometime.

Joyce I know what you mean! I feel the same way. I want to be able to meet everyone too :( I never heard of that book, but I'll check it out. I have Naturally Healthy Babies and Children somewhere, and we've used that one a lot. I haven't been able to find it recently. I'm wondering if I've packed it up with my baby and pregnancy books...

Hello! I share your love of crafts but unfortunately my gardening skills aren't so great. Maybe some day I'll figure it out! I look forward to getting to know you!
