Hi all :) I am a Child of God, wife to Brad, momma to six (soon to be seven), am a homeschooing SAHM, and lover of learning and crafting :) I enjoy learning new things, and trying my hands at all types of crafts. We dream of having a homestead out west. Hubby is Air Force, so until he retires, we live here in the south. I enjoy gardening, herbs, and anything farm girl-y and "domestic... except cleaning, lol.

Hello Ladies,
According to the Social Security office, today I am officially old as it is my 65th birthday....only problem is I DON"T BELIEVE IT :) According to my calendar I am middle-aged since I intend to break the records..... Anyway... Mom to 3 + 1 step, Grandma to 11, and soon to be Great-Grandma to #2; wife to my best friend and hubby; We live in big house on a little patch of land in a small CT village. In the past 4 years we have slowly changed our 1/2 acre into a mini-farm where we grow most of our food, raise chickens for eggs, and others for meat, also turkeys and ducks. We just got our first goats, two little Nubian sisters who were born in January. I have been doing all sort of needlework, sewing, crochet, etc since I was a child. I love living an old fashioned life, as much as possible these days, love my garden (veggies, flowers, herbs) and enjoy canning. Also enjoy all crafts, and reading (anything I thats in front of me), trying to relearn playing a piano (far from any good, but enjoy the attempt), I also enjoy writing (something I have never told anyone until now), and writing/receiving letters. Would love to learn to spin and weave.

My soul is combination of Jane Austen and Beatrix Potter, with a hint of Scarlet O'Hara.

If I can make you smile, or better yet, laugh just one time, then I have had a very good day.

I'm SO excited about this henhouse :) I'm a SAHM of three, and also homeschool. My children are 9, 7 and 4. I also teach a little bit of piano on the side. We live on a 2 acre hobby farm, and I love gardening, canning, preserving, crafting, sewing, quilting, being a mom and wife (10 years).....and drinking tea out of china tea cups :)

I am looking forward to it being active :) Super excited Erin decided to start it :) I had actually talked to my hubby about starting one, and he said I had enough on my plate, lol. Cannot imagine what he meant ;)

Kathleen - I so hope you had a truly wonderful and blessed birthday! 65 is not old! But hey, if social security wants to think that, and send you a check... Well.... ;)

I love how everyone enjoys crafts and gardening and such. I think weneed to have a virtual "craft day" that we all set aside and spend the day crafting and posting updates on here....

Kathleen, your soul combination sounds very close to mine! I might have a little more Scarlet in me though.. lol.

Joyce, I also love drinking tea out of china cups! I did that all winter in the afternoon (while the kids were having quiet time). The routine has changed a bit with the weather.

Shannon I love the craft day idea!

Hi Shannon and Joyce, glad to see you both here, this should be fun! I'm completely I'm support of a virtual craft day except that my time difference means you would wake up to all my updates lol. Of course mine would also be around the baby so probably pretty slow.

LOL Sabrina! What is the time difference? I know I seem to post earlier than some due to being EST. Kathleen would be on that as well... some of the others... uhhhh no. It is funny because I will get on here and post and then check an hour later and be like "man it is quiet" and then it dawns on me that everyone is still sleeping. My poor brother is in SD and I called him one day at 8 my time - gasp! Poor guy! It was 5 there!
