The first day of fall, it was a crisp, beautiful morning when I woke at 4:30 am :-) But, we are due for an early afternoon storm, more rain and lots of wind the weather man said. Today is football Sunday so a good day to sit in front of the fire, enjoy a Hot Toddy and a Bowl of Warm Soup and Homemade Bread.

How are you Gals spending your first day of Fall?

Hugs,
Debbie

Debbie, please shut your door quick, some of that wind is making it up here and I was hoping to do some yard clean up today. Roll up the soaker hoses, put away the sprinklers and clean up my garden room in the barn. Than I am going to find my chair and finish the little pumpkin cocoon And hat I have been working on for the new little pumpkin soon to come. I love Sundays! Happy Fall everyone.

Hugs
Julie

Oh Julie you know we will need a picture of the finished Pumpkin Cocoon and hat, it sounds so cute! Don't blow away if the wind should come your way.
Have Fun.
Hugs,
Debbie

It is cool and crisp this morning. The air is nice and clean after our rain yesterday. We even got some snow in Tahoe! Today really seems like Fall is here, however, I know we will still have some warm weather during early October :( For today though, Fall is in the air!

Happy Fall!
Today: football yes, but Broncos play tomorrow night, hoping our daughter will (finally!) go into labor with our grandson, canning two enormous pots of salsa harvested and made yesterday, planting greens in the greenhouse, reading a book about Benjamin Franklin, tea, soup, homemade bread and the gathering of calendula blossoms for an herbal oil. Life is grand!
Have a great day,
Rain

Happy Fall! it was only 78 for the high today and a cool North Wind! On the way to work some Birch leaves were falling across the road. I had the top down on my car first time since April! The sun felt so good with the cool breeze! Just a day to be Thankful! Hugs!

Congratulations on the upcoming grand baby Rain. They are such a joy and blessing. What would you use calendula oil for if I may ask? Darlene and Connie it certainly is a day to be Thankful!

Hugs back at you!

HAPPY FIRST DAY OF FALL GIRLS!

Seemed like a typical Washington Fall here...it rained all day!
So, I just made it a Pajama Day and sat in my recliner reading,
drinking yummy warm Chai Tea/Coffee (I mixed them) and watched
Football with DH. The Seattle Game was really good and now we are
watching The Chicago/Pittsburg game. It has been years since either
Seattle or Chicago were good teams but they are both looking pretty
good this year.

I have a lot to do tomorrow...so, I am praying it won't rain too hard.

Rain...hope that baby gets here soon. Nothing like spoiling Grand-babies.
It is my favorite pass time. LOL

Hope Everyone Enjoyed their Sonday!

Hugs and love,
Peggy

I use calendula oil as a massage oil for sore, tired muscles...I have some friends that do eat the blossoms in salads, but I find them a bit strong personally. Although I have been known to eat nasturtium flowers and leaves for their peppery-ness! I have also thrown a dollop of oil into the bathtub in the middle of our dry CO winters. Usually I just dry the flower heads then vacuum seal in canning jars and add to almond oil or something like that when I need a new jar.
I learned how to make an excellent face cream last week, when my friend gives me the recipe written out I will pass it on to you all. I put a bit of the calendula oil in the cream.
take care,
Rain

We went out for breakfast this morning, and it was sprinkling, with a few snowflakes mixed in!
I did a little Fall Swap crafting for Connie before heading out to work. Happy fall! Debbie

Rain that seems like a neat recipe for dry skin, I look forward to getting it.

As for Fall yesterday we had a lovely day no rain and some blue sky and comfortable temperature. Saturday it poured here.
Happy Fall to you all.
hugs
