Felt, knitted, bought that someone else made, just plain old bought, anything goes?? Sewn with fun trim?

Learning to spin would be a fun activity for an actual physical get to together, otherwise that's a bit hard to get started, especially if you don't have the equipment, yadda yadda.

Is this stocking swap going to be starting later, and there is a fall swap? Or is this the fall swap? Sorry, trying to get up to speed here!
take care,
Rain

Oh my gosh y'all have me cracking up yet again. Do whatever makes you happy that is my motto, you know that. Make it, bake it, spin it, buy it does not matter as long as we have fun right?
My sweet BFF Tammy does not sew, y'all know that right? So store bought is perfectly acceptable and as you know Tammy's will always be vintage.
Thank you all for making my day.
Hugs,
Debbie

The good thing is, if we don't have time to sew, or don't sew, we can support Farm Girls on Etsy or Craft malls by buying hand made. The Fall Craft Fairs start here in a few weeks and I love to buy things from them and put them up for future swaps! Also have saved favorite Etsy Sellers and I go to them for what I need, if I don't have time to make it.

Teri, how did you know that was my card hmmmm???? Maybe you'll get lucky and I'll send you one of my gems...I've got some great cards....LOL

Connie, you are so right about supporting the crafters on Etsy or MJF. There are so many cute stockings out there. I wouldn't mind getting a hand knitted stocking with burlap....just sayin'...

You gals are so stinken funny!!! Doesn't it feel great to laugh???

I don't sew either...So, my stocking will be store bought then embellished with glitz
and bling. Sorry girls but I'm not a burlap girl...so if you get my name...No burlap please!
And who knits with burlap??? That sounds really scratchy...hope that was a joke. LOL

I didn't even like gunny sack races unless I could bring a pillow case to use. LOL
I would have never made it being a Pioneer Woman...I love my showers, hair blowers, make up and perfume.

I barely make a Good Farmgirl because I am allergic to every farm animal known to man. Am I pathetic or what? So, I'm with Tammy I am all about Vintage and Victorian but not Primitive
anything. LOL And yes, I consider burlap primitive. Forgive me Teri
and Debbie.

Hugs,
Peg

Hmmm, knitting with burlap...now that sounds uncomfortable!

After spending a couple of years studying historical embroidery for an online graduate program, I can honestly claim to thank God everyday for running hot water, indoor plumbing of all kinds, toothpaste and floss, and antibiotics! Seriously, if a woman didn't die from infection and superstition in childbirth, tooth infections pretty much took you out by age 25 unless you were part of a wealthy family that could hire servants.

And ladies, despite knowing how to sew, I love vintage anything! Am still laughing over Tammy's hints, and posts making butts look big...

Peggy you are so funny! I actually love burlap and lace together...the kind of shabby chic look. I don't sew, knit, crochet, spin or anything else, but I love to shop...does that count? And I would have made a horrible pioneer woman too...ask Debbie how much I love camping....NOT. I want a hot shower, a soft bed, makeup, blow dryer, flat iron, etc. On that note, I feel the need for a pedicure coming on....Connie where are you?

You chickies are too funny! I finally had a few minutes to get on and catch up with the goings on :).
I love it all - vintage, shabby Chic, primitive....,just not a fan of modern.
My granddaughter is using lots of lace and burlap in her wedding coming up on the 21st. One reason I have been MIA :)!
Hope everyone has a safe and fun Labor Day! It's a rainy day in Georgia. Our little town of Blue Ridge has a huge fund raising BBQ today in the city park, but it won't rain on their parade. We will be heading to town shortly for the festivities.
Hugs, Ruth

Yep Tammy, shopping counts! I love to do that too, much to my DH disgust. Ruth my daughter had a shabby chic wedding,It was beautiful, a lot of vintage dishes, burlap, lace and muslin, vintage looking fabrics, homemade jellies and just about every antique I had on the farm. Her bouquet was even burlap and muslin roses with rhinestones and lace. I went through 2 bolts of burlap for table runners and now have enough to last me for 3 lifetimes. For their Christmas gift I am making them a king size quilt incorporating all the fabrics we used in the napkins and jar covers and backing it with some of the muslin. Have a Happy Labor Day everyone!

Hugs

Julie, your daughter's wedding sounds so beautiful and just my style. I actually bought the magazine "Vintage Flea Market Style Weddings" just because I loved the whole lace and burlap, rhinestones and mason jars, etc. I love the homemade jams idea too. And the quilt you're making will be such a treasure...wow! Ruth your granddaughter's wedding sounds like that too...and her bouquet is so lovely. I hope when my daughter gets married she will want something like that, but of course I've got a long time to wait :)

Hugs, Tammy

We used the vintage blue qt. jars for a lot of the vases Tammy, I had some, but managed to win a huge lot off eBay to get the rest that we needed, now I have a lot! I even used wine bottles covered in twine for vases, they turned out really cute. Of course drinking all that wine was a huge hardship just to have the bottle :) I love your granddaughters bouquet Ruth, her story you e-mailed me just brought tears to my eyes. I bet she loved her shower gift from you.

You my sisters are cracking me up. You all know I love vintage, Victorian, Chocolate Candy LOL!! Thought I would throw that out there.
Tammy you are so funny. Hey I got an idea. You need an RV. Then you have the comforts of home. And air conditioning. I know you can't make it without it.

Julie we know the hardship you went through getting rid of the wine to get to the bottles. Lol ROTFL.............! My stomach hurts from laughing.

Julie, yes that must have been a real hardship for you to drink that wine...LOL...I could have helped! Connie, it is so so humid here the last couple days. Just a few minutes ago I heard some rumbling and looked up through the window and it was pouring rain. It's been cloudy all day (like thunderclouds) but still HOT. So I feel your pain sister. Julie you must send us pics when you finish the quilt.

Spinning? Never have, would love to learn. I have my Great Aunts vintage spinning wheel, wish I could post a pic!
I cherish it very much and the memories of seeing it in her home from childhood into adulthood. Miss her always :(
