I couldn't find the thread on the library, maybe it was just mentioned in another. Since we've had so many new folks I thought I would bring it up again and nudge CJ to remind us all about it.

I'm also looking for the books for the scrapbook badge. My library doesn't have them, nor do any of the libraries in the county, hence I'm out of luck and can't afford to buy them.

Laurie,
I'll have to do some more looking around myself, but I think the books are listed in the "Merit Badges" thread. But in any case, the ones for Scrapbooking aren't in our library. When I was working on those badges (and many others) I just got the books from the library on loan. Some of them are quite pricey and some of them I really didn't want to invest $$ in.

Unfortunately, two of our Henhouse Library books never were returned from being loaned to another farmgirl who is NOT in our Henhouse. I was hugely disappointed that this has happened because it was in good faith that they were loaned out . . in APRIL!!!! I've sent numerous emails and a letter by mail . . . no response and no return. So, for now "SOUL OF A HORSE" and "MONTROSE: LIFE IN A GARDEN" are MIA. (One of our Henhouse Chicks has her own personal copies of these and MIGHT loan them to a responsible Henhouse member)

HOWEVER, if any of you are working on any of the badges requiring reading and you want to know what books are available, let me know. A couple of them were returned to Rusty (who donated most of them in the first place) but she did tell me they would be available for Henhouse reading.

Laurie, is your library not able to get those books on loan from a library from somewhere else outside the county? Ours is able to do that. If I am able to "score" on those I'll let you know.

Thanks for the nudge . . . 2012 is coming and after the holidays is a good time to revisit earning badges. I do know there are some new ones coming!

Hi girls!

GOOD NEWS!!! The books: "MONTROSE: LIFE IN A GARDEN" and "SOUL OF A HORSE", from our Henhouse library . . .

. . . HAVE BEEN RETURNED TO ME!!! YAY!!!

They had been loaned out to a farmgirl (NOT in the Henhouse, on good faith) almost a year ago . . . they were in my mail today.
So, they are available.
However, our Henhouse Library books will be available ONLY to Farmgirls Southwest Henhouse "chicks".

Yup, Debbie, you can borrow "MONTROSE" . . I'll get it in the mail to you in the next couple days.
It's a good book and it is interesting, however a bit tedious to read.
