With the holidays approaching, How about us put up some recipes that are used for your holiday dinner's. I pull mine out tomorrow and start going through them. Even if they are not one's you usually have at the holiday time, if you think we'd all enjoy them, send them along. Can't wait to see what you all send. Hugs, Brenda

My favorite stuffing recipe:

Sausage/Sage Dressing

1/2 loaf of sourdough bread
1/2 loaf of honey wheat bread
Tear bread into pieces and soak in about 1/2 cup of your favorite stock

in meantime saute in butter or olive oil, about 4 TBL:
3-4 finely chopped celery stalks
1 onion, finely chopped
2-3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
Optional-1 cup chopped mushrooms

Saute 2-3 sausages you have mashed up with a fork in a separate pan. Any brand, hot or mild of your favorite When browned, add sausage to veg mixture.

When vegs are translucent, combine then with the softened bread. Season with salt and pepper and sage to taste. Add stock to make mixture very soft, about another 1/4 cup? When seasoned to your taste, mix in 1 beaten egg. Then stuff your fowl and bake per fowl directions.

This is a family, handed down, stuffing. I tried to adapt a recipe as best I can??!! LOL!! It is mostly done by sight and taste. But it is yummy!! Enjoy!!

Blessings, Linda

Linda and Melody, On Christmas day our grown children are off to their in-laws. This year my friends from high school will be coming to my house and probably my mom. I am going to try both of the recipes above. I like trying new ones. I'm planing for a nice meal about noon. Then later in the evening, put out several Hordourves and desserts. I think it will be fun.

A treat: Marshmallow lollipops

Melt milk chocolate and semi-sweet chips together with about a tablespoon of oil. Put a toothpick in a marshmallow and dip into the melted chocolate. Let it drip a few seconds and then put on a tray to dry and solidify. Before putting on tray you can sprinkle with sprinkles, graham cracker crumbs, crushed peppermint stickes, or finely chopped nuts. You can, also, use white chocolate chips, cinnamon chips, et. I've, also put a little peanut butter in the chocolate. Experminet and have fun.

I would rather wear out than rust out.----Richard Cumberland
