Hi Again:
CJ - go ahead and send the "Bees" book to Kathy. I just found out that my husband ordered it for me (it was on my list). He's so sweet.
Take care and thanks anyway. I'm still trying to learn to make lace. It is very difficult.

Love-
Rusty

Congratulations to everybody who has earned the badges! That's a lot of badges, especially considering our henhouse isn't all that big.

Rusty, I tried to make lace several years ago and finally gave up. Since then I've gained a little more patience so I'm going to try again sometime. When you get done, please post a picture. (One of these days I'm going to set up a photobucket account so I can post pictures.)

Hi Kathy:
I'm having a very difficult time with the lace making. Too many bobbins and I get all befuddled. I've put it away for now but if I get the hang of it I will surely post a picture. Right now I'm embroidering the dish towels, working on my intermediate tatting, sewing dolls and quilts and canning apples. Whew - no wonder I'm tired. But I'm loving every minute of it.
Love-

Rusty

Dear CJ,

I have Montrose: Life in a Garden. Would you like me to forward it to Tammy? Is there someone else "in line" ahead of Tammy I should send it to instead?

Sincerely,

Rali

All,

I'm happy to report three of the six young pumpkin plants I separated and transplanted survived. Much to my surprise (and delight) two additional plants sprouted. I immediatedly (within 24 hours) "thinned" the mound and both new plants survived. I haven't seen any prairie "rats" in the last two weeks either. I don't think this is a result of anything I did (extra fencing and cayenne pepper) but, rather nature itself at work. I suspect predators (owls, hawks, or coyotes) took care of the problem. Hopefully, I will have pumpkins come Halloween!

Sincerely,

Rali

I think Rusty has it and will forward it to me when she's done with it. It's on my list as well. Do you need any of the ones for "Know Your Food"? There is one for each level . . .I have those and am trying to read the "Animal,Vegetable . . " one.

I'm done with the "Bees" book, which I really enjoyed. Bees are much more interesting than I imagined.

Who wants it next?

All,

That's a lot of merit badges! My goal is to complete two merit badges per month. I have "many" in the works but, feel this is a manageable goal. I've earned four since joining the Farmgirl Sisterhood two months ago and am poised to earn two more this month.

Sincerely,

Rali
