I feel that way about my city. I just plan my days for the less busy times. :) It’s exhausting to do errands especially when it’s so very hot. I think the heat may vert well bring out the crabbiness in people. :)

I do the same thing Karen, Plan for the slowest day of the week, go early in the morning and make sure I am done before schools before out and businesses are closing for the day.
After a couple of months of cooler than normal weather, our days will be heating up to the 90’s this week with high humidity. Today is our last cool day, so I am mowing the lawn, finishing up the weeding in my garden, picking the produce that is ready and planning on hunkering down in my craft room to play with fall fabric.
I will catch everyone on the porch tomorrow for a glass of lemonade.

A little rain can straighten a flower stem. A little love can change a life.

Happy Monday!

I'm back from my travels last week. Christmas in July is set up at our booth in Tyler and we had some fun at the thrift stores and estate sales. Here's a picture of our little space.

My favorite find was a set of the Wise Men - we had a similar set when I was growing up and I have no idea what happened to them. These aren't quite like the ones we had but I love the memory so I picked them up.

Happy to back on the porch with you all - it's hot and muggy here so a glass of lemonade sounds wonderful!

I love your booth and those wise men are beautiful! Are the tops of their hats hollowed out for a candle? My mom had some small ones that were like that.

Yes - they are candlesticks. I remember that the ones we had growing up were more golden but these are the closest I've found.

I keep seeing posts on social media about how many days/Fridays/etc. we have until fall. It seems like the summer is just flying by - and I will admit I'm already looking forward to fall and Christmas.

Happy porch sitting :) I'll be enjoying some herbal tea as the sun sets.

Laura - love your booth! I've been brainstorming Christmas gift ideas already :)

I've been a busy little bee today. In between milkings I picked, cleaned, and canned a dozen pints of green beans and 7 quarts of pickles. I peeled and sliced half a box of peaches to fill up the dehydrator that's still running right now. I also managed to read a chapter in the calligraphy book for the badge requirement and I baked a pan of brownies. So help yourself to one while I finish up supper (cheeseburgers and homemade french fries). I think I'm going to see if I can talk Nathan into watching a Christmas movie tonight. Halmark is doing Christmas in July :)
