Farmgirls~ Just a reminder that we close out our Annual Farmgirl Apple Festival tomorrow , Sunday September 24 with our Apple pie Sunday!

We are very open about what is the best way to use apples to make a dish you truly enjoy. It doesn't have to be pie or sweet. Anything savory will be just fine too.

So, let's think it over today about what we would like to enjoy to close out our annual celebration and let un know what you did.

Happy Apple feasting and enjoy!! Below is an apple cobbler I made one year and it was so simple and delicious!!

All sounds so good! I'll be making our individual apple 'dumplings '. Apples peeled, halved, cinnamon and sugar, wrapped and decorated in pie dough individually. Our dessert for after supper. Everyone's sounds very yummy!!

Happy Apple! We pressed apples last night with friends. Canned fresh cider, along with baking Danish Apple Bars! We used honeycrisp and cortland apples. I checked my favorite apple, the fireside, and they are ready. Todays job will be freezing apples, drying apple slices, canning, eating, and enjoying. Our middle son and family are coming today to press apples. We have simplified the process of cutting the apples by hand and then running through a grinder to the press. Now we put a french fry cutter clamped to a porch post, and use a wedge cutter blade, then run through the grinder on the press. So much quicker then cutting by hand.

Ohhhh, what wonderful desserts and apple delights were enjoyed over this weekend!! I ended up making an apple cobbler because it is just so easy and always delicious. For a new twist this year, I went to a little ice cream/sandwich shop and bought some of their Vanilla custard ice cream to put on the top of the cobbler. Gosh , it just melted over warm cobbler and was delicious!

It sounds like it was an all around apple festival celebration this weekend across our MJF community!!

Everyone made such yummy apple dishes!! I decided to branch out a little bit and I made caramel apple cheesecake bars. They were pretty good and the kids really loved them. So I will call it a success!

I made Apple Dapple for our International dinner night at our church on Sunday. There was not a bit of it left. It came out pretty good I think. I had the table for USA. A few people who came to the table wanted to know if there was apple pie so I'm glad I made an apple dessert!
