Hello everyone! I'm excited to join the farmgirl sisterhood. I was looking for something to help me learn new skills and to also stay motivated while I hone old skills. This seemed like a perfect fit. I'm also looking forward to interacting with like minded people.
A little about me...
I hail from the Northern Neck of VA. I'm a farmer working toward the goal of raising at least 80% of my own food. I'm a bio-regional folk herbalist. I forage and make most of my own medicines and teach others herbal skills. I'm a Master Naturalist and volunteer to help connect others to nature. I run the business side of my husband's electrical contracting company and sometimes apprentice when he is short handed. Last, I also love crafting, canning, baking, crochet, canoeing, and beading.
I'm a bit of a recluse so I do look forward to meeting everyone and hopefully I can also form a local chapter in the future.

Thanks,
Heather

Welcome, Heather. I'm also from Virginia, the Shenandoah Valley. You sound like you have a lot of interests. Check out the swaps, they are a lot of fun.

Hi Heather!
A big Hoosier hello from Muncie Indiana!

Welcome to the farm!!! Yay! Always fun to get a new farmsister. You will love it here. These farmsisters are great in sharing their skills, and tips on everything. I have learned so much from all of them. Each one is like a rare gem in a treasure box.

Have fun! Looking to get to know you better thru MJF.

Welcome Heather from down here in north central Florida! I was born and raised in Charlottesville, Va. and the state will be forever in my heart and soul. It sounds like you have a great place to work on your projects and interests. I look forward to hearing more about what you are learning and working on. Post us some pictures if you can!

So far I'm lovin' it on the farm! Everyone has been so warm and welcoming. I've also been so inspired and simply amazed by all the talent here.
