Hi Farmgirls,

So now it is official. As soon as I finish my coffee this morning, I will pack up the rest of fall and start pulling out Christmas.

This year I will have to incorporate some of my vintage sewing machines in my displays.

We just lost our dog to cancer, so a bright and cheery home with lots of Christmas is something I am really looking forward to.

I am also excited to bake this year. I will start that this weekend, too!

What is your favorite Christmas decoration? I think mine is the little vintage Napco Mr. And Mrs. Class salt and pepper shakers my husband got me last year. Just so sweet and sentimental. I also cant wait to get our tree. Love that fresh tree smell!

Post Pics of your fave Xmas decorations/display here!

Farmgirl Hugs,
Nicole

Those are my little Santa and Mrs. Claus salt and pepper. I don't set them in the kitchen but use them as display elsewhere.

Nicole,
Your shaker set is very cute! I'm planning on trying to do some decorating this weekend, but it will probably not be full out as in past years. But we'll see what happens!

I've got all the outside lights up and the decorations done inside. Just have to buy a new tree and put that up next weekend, them I'm done! Still have the holiday shopping to do, but feeling pretty good right now at what I've accomplished. I'll post a few pictures later. Have fun decorating everyone!

Nicole...very Sweet s/p shakers hubby got you! I am with you...I am all ready for Christmas Decorating. I pulled all my Fall stuff last night and packed it away.
Took me most of the Evening and then I decorated my Dining Room Table with a big Santa Sleigh that was made specifically to hold a Poinsettia. Which my middle son
had bought me a week ago and it is just gorgeous! And then I did a Small display Of Candles and a Wooden Birch Joy Sign with a Red Cardinal sitting in the O.
So, it is just a start but I feel more festive already! Hope to get the Tree out today. I am doing a White Tree with Purple and Gold Ornaments and a pretty
Purple Tree Skirt. This will be my first year for this tree and all new ornaments.

Merry Christmas Joy,
Peggy

I need to get started on my decorating. I will get my Christmas totes down, tree in from the garage, and Christmas quilts on the beds. Maybe that will get me inspired and in the mood. Having a cold/allergies has slowed me down a bit, so need to get moving.

I decided, with my "minimalistic" approach this year to use poinsettias again, so I bought four of them at Walmart for $4.00 each. Will use them with whatever else I decide to use.

Got My White Artificial Tree put up and then bought Purple and Gold Ornaments, A Purple Lighted Star for the top,
and A Purple Tree Skirt. Set my three piece (Joseph, Mary & Babe in the Manger) under my tree. Will put my big set up
tomorrow on Top of My Bookcase/Knick Knack Case etc. Have a Huge Gold Santa Sleigh that Holds My Poinsettia on a Christmas Table Runner
on my Dining Room Table with a couple of Angels and Candles. Then above my sink I have a small shelf that I put a White Birch JOY with a Red Cardinal in the O and some red candles on either side of that. So, trying to simplify this year. But I'm still not done. I do
my outside Foyer too. Plan to wrap it all up this coming week.

Hugs and Smiles,
Peggy

Oh by Gosh, by Golly...It's time for Mistletoe and Holly!! I love seeing so many fun photos of treasured family Christmas decorations. We are back up to 80 degrees again this week so it is hard to get inspired to get Christmas decorations out just yet. Our Fall is now unveiling around this area of the country and all of the deciduous trees are turning colors. The Southern Red Maples around town are quite beautiful with their reds, oranges and yellows. Finally Fall has arrived here in north Florida so I am going to enjoy these lovely days a bit longer.

Connie... truly what a joy to have your granny's decorations..

Cj... I know what you mean.. I have been purging holiday deco for years and yet new stuff finds it's way to my home! Lol!

Winnie... I have friends in Florida who have a blast decorating in pinks and lime greens and palm trees and...Flamingos of course ... lol!

I luv that we can follow our whimsy and decorate in traditional reds and greens... elegant golds and crystals ...or kick it up a notch and have fun colirs and themes... I have even seen a Tuxcedo tree, white tree with black ornaments ...it soulds weird but the one I saw was very elegant.
This year I put up a red tree with white ornaments as well as some small cross stitched ornaments. But in the family room I went with a " mid century modern " theme.

Again... it's all about what makes us happy....

Peggy,
Many years ago, when my daughter was in high school and we were still attending a particular church she and I volunteered to decorate the sanctuary. They had purchased a real tree and we decorated with white and/or silver ornaments and purple ribbons. We decorated the cross behind the pulpit and the big white wall at the back of the church with draped purple fabric and more ornaments. It was different and very elegant!! (Robin and I both claim purple as our favorite color . . :D)

my snow peeps...

Frosty and friends out to play in the snow...

my entry way, tree....

In some bergs in Germany it's fun to be the one who finds the hidden pickle ornament in the tree...

I like to put a little touch of Christmas through out the house.

cowboy Santa likes to hang out too!

I use to have a lovely Nativity but sadly several pieces got broken during our move :>(
so for now I have this rustic set hanging above the fireplace.

Now to go take some pics of the family room...

You sure do have the stuff for Christmas, Grace. I love the older things - I have a couple from my childhood, but not many.

My cousin used to decorate every year - she had 77 boxes of decorations and it took her over 3 weeks to store away all the regular stuff so she could fill 4 china cabinets, all her kitchen cabinets, a tree in every room (each with a different theme), and her kitchen counter was always a theme with her moose collection. Unfortunately, since she passed away I'm sure her husband sold everything at his garage sale.

I have done some ATC (Artist Trading Cards) and handmade Christmas tag swaps. I'm using some of these things that I've received to decorate, as well as some favorite Christmas cards!
I also found some vintage LP Christmas records (also called "vinyl") that belonged to my mom and am using them as well! I'll try to post pics in a few days!

Linda... I think I would have gotten along fabulously with your cousin ...
Sorry to hear she has passed away.

My daddy was career Army and we moved every 2 years back and forth between the USA and Germany, so we never had/kept much... maybe that is why I have amassed so much stuff... to make up for my youth.

I do love decorating... but I have really toned it down these past few years... mostly because it's just hubby and I.... but I don't ever want to lose contact with that little girl inside of me....so I make myself pull out the containers and " gitterdone"... lol!

Well Linda I don't have 77 boxes of Christmas Stuff...Thank The Good Lord! But I did put out ALL my Christmas Stuff Today! My Apartment looks so Festive and I am
so in the Christmas Spirit. Christmas Shopping is almost complete...still need to wrap some more gifts and then do Christmas Cards...then I can just sit back and
Enjoy The Holidays!! I would post pictures but found out the girls who don't pay the MJF 20.00 dollars a year can no longer post pictures and such. So, guess I
can't post any more. Which is sad because I have been on MJF for many many many years now and was always able to do it before. So, What ever!!!

Hugs and Blessings,
Peggy
