I'm good...just really really tired and super swamped with hubby being gone. But...we do get to fly out and visit him! yay! And then we're driving back through the states (how fun!) on the way home, so I'm excited to learn more about your guys' home country :) We hope to be gone about 3ish weeks.

We'll be starting in BC, so we're going to cross over, I believe, in Idaho. We want to take the kids to a type of amusement park/train ride place in Athol. Then we do plan to go to Yellowstone National Park, and I have no idea after that where we plan to go :) I'm sure hubby has it all planned out though!

Glad you two are doing good! My puppy is doing better. She is walking more and more each day. We go Monday to remove the staples. I still have to leash walk her and since its been raining here all week I have been getting wet just to talk her potty!

Joyce, that sounds like so much fun! I would love to hear where else you will be going when you figure it out. We will be visiting Yellowstone in June! It's a fun place to go.

Hi Ladies. I've been having a rough week and a half with coping with a pain flare and being alone up here, which means I've been struggling to focus and spend most of my free time reading. I think we're going to talk to the landlord this weekend to see how quickly we can terminate our lease so I can move. I'm starting to feel better, but I'm taking it a day at a time. The bright side is that I've fallen back in love with reading and always have a book on me again - I made the happy mistake of starting the Game of Thrones series (I'm a huge sci/fi fan) and just learned it takes about 96 hours to read the first 5 books! This will be keeping me busy for a while, lol.

Joyce - that sounds like a nice trip. I haven't really been many places west of the Mississippi River and would love to hear about Yellowstone (that goes for you too, Krista). How long is your husband gone? It's so hard to be separated from your spouse and I hope you two are reunited again soon.

Krista - I'm so happy to hear your puppy is better. I know you were worried about her and having an extra "baby" to take care of being exhausting. I'm sure she'll be ready for good walk as soon as the rain clears. Leash walking is no fun when the weather is cold or rainy.

Alicia - Your blog posts continue to make me smile, though I think I've missed the most recent one - I'll be catching up with things more this weekend. It's so great to see the seasons changing so rapidly down there. It's still pretty cold in Chicago, so we're just now getting buds on trees. I'm still waiting for it to get warm enough to put my plants outside permanently, it's still getting into the 40s and even 30s at night.

Nicole - hubby is gone until June, but since we are leaving earlier to go visit him, and drive back with him, then it will only be about 8 weeks we've been gone from him!!

Just a quick update - I may be in and out for the month of May. We went to talk to the landlord yesterday about terminating our lease this summer and he asked if we could be out in 30 days! This is happening now :)

Joyce- That would have been so much fun! You will have to let me know what you think of Yellowstone.

Nicole- I hope you can start feeling better soon. I am so glad you can move now! Things are looking up for you. I haven't read The Game of Thrones series but I have heard many people say they love it and are addicted. I have been thinking of starting a new book and reading it for about a half hour after I put my baby to bed before I fall asleep. I just need to figure out what I would like to read.

As far as around here, not much has changed. The doctor only took a couple staples out of my puppies leg and we go back in next week to remove the rest. The weather has finally started warming up but I heard there is another storm in the future. We also moved the baby from his bassinet to his crib. That was a rough couple of nights but he now has a hang of it!

Feel better Nicole!

Poor puppy Krista! :( Hoping it is a warmer and calmer time ahead for you.

As for me...Well, where to begin... May is an exceptionally hard month for me. Levi, my son who passed away, would have been 10 next Wednesday. Mother's day is pretty much the worst. About every 3 or so years the two days converge. But God smiles on me and does his best to remind me that life carries on and it can be good. <3 I was nominated as FOTM by dear Joyce! Also, after almost 5 years of searching, the past 6 months of worrying, we CLOSE ON OUR FARM THURSDAY! :D

Hi Alicia - I'm so excited for you amidst your sadness. I remember reading on your blog about when he passed away - and am struck how we have a son named Levi, who recently turned 8. I have no idea of your pain, but do know I am praying for you.

Alicia, I am sorry to hear of your sadness. I hope things will be better for you this year. Congrats on the farm! I couldn't be more excited for you and to top it off you get to be the special farmgirl this month! May that bring much excitement to you this month.

This last weekend I got my seeds and starts planted!! I'm getting super excited but nervous at the same time. I really hope I can keep everything alive! I decided to put my tomatoes in a large pot on the deck so I can monitor them. I have a dog who loves to steal them as soon as they are ripe. Now I can watch over her!

I hope you are all doing well and had a great Mother's Day!

Alicia - I'm sorry to hear May is rough for you. Never being a mother myself, I cannot imagine what that loss is like for you. I'm glad you try to carry on in a positive way. Congrats on the nomination for FOTM and closing on the farm. I'm sure that's a huge weight lifted from your shoulders! It'll be so exciting to see what you're able to do with the space.

Krista - It sounds like your weather has finally turned nice? I am rarely patient enough to grow veggies from seed. I wonder if there are other plants you could put near the tomatoes to deter the dog from getting her treats from your tomato plant! Cayenne pepper is a good natural repellent for other pests, but I have no idea if it's safe/effective for dogs. I'll let you know if I come across any advice.

The movers come a week from today. I'll go to work in the morning and return to an empty apartment. I'm essentially camping for a week and a half in our city apartment. It's so bittersweet, but I know it's time to move on. I'll be living with my in-laws until we have enough money to buy our own house. They have an established garden in the back yard that I get to work on this year and I am so excited to eat food that I'll be growing! I try to stop by the forums, but don't always respond. Everything feels so hectic these days and I cannot wait for June - I'll be settled in a new place and it's my birthday month!

Tomorrow is Levi's birthday. He would have been 10. My heart hurts.... If I could just hold him for a minute for each year since he was born....

Nicole- The weather hasn't been that great actually. It rained all weekend but I had to get my seeds planted or it would be to late. Then it decided to be sunny in the morning and then rain again in the afternoons. I'm ready for the weather to be nice. My little man and I need to get out and get some fresh air! I have tried the cayenne pepper in the past and she ended up with bloody noses, so I won't try that again. I will have to see if there is anything else. Good luck with ally our moving! I am so excited for you! You can definitely make camping out fun!

Alicia- super cute picture! I am so sorry for your loss. Sending you many hugs today.

Just popping on to check in, I'm terribly behind with you all...

Alicia-I'm so sorry hun! He is precious. Praying for you during this time. Congratulations on closing on the farm!

Well we are sort of in a holding pattern waiting to find out where we will move next. I had to jump through some hoops for the army before we could find out but hopefully in the next 2-3 weeks we will know something!! We don't move until Feb but since I'm a planner I am excited to know and start planning! Otherwise we are just chugging along. We have had awards ceremonies and stuff, wrapping up "school year" activities. Planning VBS. I've had horrible writers block but also been crazy busy! Trying to clean up my house, switching my kids to a summer routine in homeschooling (we school year-round but change up the pace with the season). The weather has been beautiful and I just want to sit outside with a book while my kids play!
