I'm sorry Darlene. I know you don't feel well but I couldn't help chuckling at "I whine a lot when I pray". quote:

I was just reading Mary Beth's tribute and celebration of her aunt's life and thinking just how blessed each of us are to have such wonderful people to inspire, guide and share our lives. I also am so grateful for the comforting knowledge that someday we will be together again, celebrating our new, eternal life in Heaven! "Blessed assurance.. Jesus is mine... Oh, what a foretaste, of mercy divine!"

Cathy, welcome! So glad you are here. This is such a place of encouragement and smiles and who doesn't need more of that! I made sure to subscribe so that i don't miss anyhting and i can tell you that the Lord loves when we fellowship with each other.

I have applied for a job as County extension agent. I go before the Commissioner's Court, Wednesday, for the final decision. If you think about it please keep me in your prayers. I am a teacher right now and I reeeeaaalllly need a change.
We have just started a new study in Sunday School this week. It is by Chip Ingram and it is about spiritual warfare. Yesterday we talked about how Satan won't like us studying this and may attack. I didn't even make it through the afternoon without an attack. I started getting irritable and before it was over I was right out angry with my husband for no real reason. I did recognize it as an attack from the enemy, though and we work it out rather quickly.

I'm struggling with the behavior of my brother and his wife, and their insistent influence (more bad than good), on my 18 yo. My struggle is in realizing that I cannot change them, no matter what I have told them. If you have any scripture that would help me in this, I would appreciate it. No matter what I say to them, they just "don't get it." They have no children and have lived a life on buying lavish items for themselves (and bragging about it). I may be face to face with my SIL on Saturday, and could use prayers. She(SIL) needs a slappy, so I need prayer for self control too 
My ex was evicted and we are finding a home for his dog. It means a lot to my kids that we find a good home, as they are close to this dog. We cannot take in another dog - no way, no how. Hubby would leave me for sure. This weekend, we hope to pick the dog up and deliver her to her new home.
My dd is home for college break.
Hubby is in a foul mood. On top of 3 vehicles broken down, and him working so many over time hours this week, the corn/pellet stove has something wrong with it. We had to turn it off last night. I am thankful it's not freezing out today.
Thanks for praying for jobs also. I see my ds getting more depressed every day.

Catherine - any news about your job? I'm praying! I'm also praying for you with the spiritual warfare. I couldn't agree with the truth of that more. Whenever I pray fervently for anyone, I come under attack. Sometimes it hits me physically, sometimes it hits my family, and yes, I get that same weird out of the blue anger thing. We just have to stay on our toes and not let any of that sway us... Amen? Amen!
This is such a tough day, girls. My heart literally hurts and I am having a tough time stopping the tears. We're really going to have to pray the people in Sandy Hook through this horrific tragedy. God help them. God help them.

Nini,
Thank you for telling us about Sandy Hook. I did not know about it, and the news show I just watched on-line brought me to tears. What a horrific thing to happen. My heart breaks for them. I will keep them in my prayers.
With the mall shooting and now this, I am sad to say I worry more about my children, and will make better effort to pray over them prior to leaving the house.
A few of you know from me already, but an old neighbor of mine also passed away. She was found pinned between her garage and her truck. Neighbors found her after spotting her truck parked strangely. She was one of the first people to greet me when I moved into that neighborhood. The truck was not in gear, and they are investigating, but they have a boy. The father died about 8 years ago or so, when we still lived there (from an illness). Please keep Richard in your prayers, as he has no mother or father now. He attends the same school as my kids.

Hey sisters! For those of you who are Joyce Meyer fans (and even those who aren't, LOL) I strongly recommend catching her show today and tomorrow. She's interviewing Dr. Ravi Zacharias. I've read a few of his books but had never heard him speak before and his story is amazing. His field is apologetics, which I find incredibly interesting. You can catch episodes anytime at joycemeyer.org.
