I stopped on my errands today and bought four individual yards of nice patterns for skirts. So I am sewing up the salvage as the back seam, putting elastic on the back 2/3's of the skirt, leaving a 18 inch slit in the back for freedom and heming to make a comfortable longer skirt I can wear if I ever get hired anywhere.

God bless,

Judy

Beautiful stuff ladies.
I bought a bunch of old keys at the flea market. Made this necklace with one. the necklace is doubled over around the form so I could take the picture. It is a long necklace.

Today, it's all about making a 4H project with Princess. She picked out three really cute fabrics, and "we" are going to make a purse. We were smart enough to get enough fabric, etc., to make 2 of them, in case the practice one is less than perfect.

By the way, if you'll be out our way the first weekend of August, the Kendall County Fair is that weekend. Come on out and see all the amazing craft projects!

I will probably work on my knitted shawl today.

It's 80% humidity today - too hot to do just about anything here today.

Bought this Samsonite train case at a garage sale and spent the day cleaning it up. Here are before and after pictures.

Not sure what I'm going to do with it. I've seen some great repurposing on this vintage luggage. Or I may offer it in my etsy shop. Any suggestions?

Umm, I am cleaning as I have some special farmgirls coming to visit Marilyn (mountainmamma)and I Wednesday for a couple of days. They will be staying with me as hubby is off fighting fires and I am alone,it will be nice to have company. CJ and Birdie are coming, so I have a lot of things to do before they arrive, but I am having so much fun cleaning. LOL!
We will have fun and of course post pictures when we can.
Hugs,
Debbie

Sharon,
That case is just like the one I bought from "katmom" . . . and mod podged the top (so far) with layers of ecru lace. I also put lace around the recessed area all around where the latches are.
I LOVE that case and I use it for traveling because it is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO handy, and I love all those pockets in it.
I betcha if you offered it in FARMGIRL BARTER for $$, someone would snatch it up . . or your Etsy shop.

I found another one just like it only green at a local thrift for $3.00 . . . I'll probably mod-podge it sometime, when I decide what I want to put on it and I have time. We'll see.

DEBBIE . . . sooooo looking forward to coming to hang out with you!!

CJ ~ I went back in your blog and saw what you had done with the train case and it did inspire me. I have tons of lace and just might try that out. Thanx for the suggestion. Have fun glamping! S

CJ...do you ever watch the Junk Gypsy on HGTV? Well, I was watching it yesterday and in this
living room make over they did...they cut out a Huge Wooden Heart and covered it with License Plates and
then used metal Letters and spelled out HAPPY on it and hung it over the fireplace. The woman who owned
the house wanted her Living Room to be a Happy Place and that heart sure added to the look and design
of it. Thought of you when I saw it. Thought I would pass the idea along to you.

hugs,
peggy

Sharon, I agree that the "wheelies" are really nice! I do use them because I don't like lugging all that heavy stuff.
Hmmmm . . "lugging" . . luggage.
Anyway, I do like my little "Lace Case" for a lot of little this and that items and that it's sturdy. Mine also has a mirror which is nice too! I'll probably mod-podge lace layers around the sides down to the bottom metal rim, but I don't have time right now and I'm happy with the lace top. I enjoy the elegant, feminine and very unique look it has!

Peggy,
I don't get the channel to watch HGTV so, nope, I've not seen that program. I just finished making a little house number sign for my daughter too. Those signs can be a lot of work with scrounging up the plates, cutting the "slices" and then putting them all together.
I have a lot of left over "slices", of numbers and letters so we'll see what other project I come up with.

It's always fun to see what projects we can come up with, isn't it?!?

Sharon & CJ- I found a train case and painted it all gold and my friend who is a seamstress is lining the inside and I am using it for a sewing kit. Thought I could get a lot of items inside and she is also padding the top so I can use as a pin cushion. I just bought another one and am going to mod podge it but, not sure what I will do with it.

I am working on a red/white/and blue wreath made out of clothes pins for my front door. I love it and hope to finish it this evening (ran out of clothes pins last night). I will post a picture when it is finished.

I have bot seen the gypsy show but, sounds like something I would love to see. Everyone on here does such nice work and I love seeing all the photos.

Sharon...it is on at 7:00 on Saturday Nights(I think that is the correct time). Really Great Show!
A Farmgirl Show IF I've ever seen one.

Delicia...love the idea of the Sewing case out of the Overnight bag. Very clever!!!!

CJ...oh, sorry you don't get that cable channel. I keep cable for that channel alone. Whenever there is
nothing on TV in the evenings...that is always my go-to channel. I love it and even have my hubby hooked
on it. The cool thing about making the heart was you could use whole license plates, except right around
the edges.

Well, I am off to pack a little more. I am kind of ahead of schedule, so can pretty much slow way down and
be more relaxed about it.

Hugs to All My Crafty Sisters,
peggy
