Juanita...I always love SHORT Women...we have to stick together. I am 60 and I am with you....who cares???
When I turned 60 last Oct. I thought "Hey, Grandmas should be fluffy and snuggly! For there Grandkids to
love on!!! :+) And then I laughed and thought...you know my Dr. was right...when I was in my 40's and complaining about putting on a few extra pounds...he said to me, "Peggy, what do the women in your family
photo album look like?" I said, "Short, bossomy, and plump." He said, "Well, there you go. Genitics doesn't lie." Back then...I was determined to prove him wrong...now, I think he was a wise man!" Ha Ha!
I am luckier than you on the shoe size. I wear an 7 medium width. Easy to find, Praise God! Now, if I could
just wear shoes all over my body I would be happy! I love shoes too!!!

blessings,
peggy

Cherime...what pretty pillow-slips! Takes me back to days gone by. My Auntie over in Portland,
still embroideries my sister and I a new set of pillow cases every year for Christmas. She is
72 and someday I will miss getting those lovely gifts from her....but for now, I think I am a
pretty lucky lady.

Let's see...
Finishing up wonky house blocks for swap, then pressing 12 yards of fabric to make 1830's dress for parade. Hoping to get that one at least cut out today. Fortunately, not too many pieces - skirt is just 4 yards of fabric hemmed, then pleated.
Also, need to work on an afghan for a wedding that's coming up. Maybe I should make myself another pot of coffee!
Hope you are all having fun on your projects - they all look AMAZING!

I'm working on some cute summer dresses for my girls. From using patterns and new fabric and also re-purposing some old clothes and using that fabric to make something "trendy" for them. Once I find some more fabric (either new or repurposing fabric) I'm going to make myself some skirts for this summer too. I've found skirts to be pretty handy from lounging at home (like I ever have time for that, haha) and going to town or visiting. Otherwise I wear shorts and since I feel they are too short to wear in public I always have to change before leaving the house or if company is coming over so it would be nice to have some decent skirts to wear so I don't always have to change before leaving the house. Anyway off to tidy the house so I can get on my sewing spree on this chilly late spring day! :)

Hello Everyone!
I must admit, I have been missing from here for quite some time. Thought I would pop on and say hello to my old friends and hopefully some new ones too! Here is a picture of a Candle Wrap I made, hand appliqued using wool felt:

This was a fun project, especially since I love to hand sew anything!

Thought I would mention for all my fellow crafters, if your looking for any vintage or antique buttons. . . maybe for one of your MJF badges?
I have some available for sale in the market section and at my Etsy store.

Loved reading all your posts and seeing all your wonderful pictures! Lots of inspiration here to get your creative energy going!!

I made this pillow cover for the woman who raises the hay for my horses. The quote: 'Hay smells different to lovers and horses' is by Stanislaw Jerzy Lec, a polish author.

Sheri, your hat boxes are beautiful, what talent you have.
Tabitha, love your web site, so enchanting.
I bought a 1933 Singer Treadle Sewing Machine yesterday, now I am trying to set it up in my Stitching Room so I can start sewing with it. I can see I need a bigger room"-)

Thanks for the nice comments about the pillow! I drew the horse head drawing several years ago in my sketchbook. Last week I was discussing how wonderful our new hay smelled to the woman I buy hay from and she replied back to me with the quote. So I opened up my Embird embroidery software and combined my drawing with the quote creating a machine embroidery design...fun! The stitch I used is called "redwork", so it looks like a hand-stitched design.

After I finish my cleaning I hope to get to the store to have my boys pick out fabric so they can make their own messinger bags for next school year. They came to me with the idea and I jumped at the chance to have extra time with them. My boys are 14 and 16 this summer and they have so many other things they are interested in I yearn for time with them.

God bless,

Judy

Kim, it's so much fun! It does get hot in there, even with a fan, but cool mornings and evenings. I love it. We've been rained on too. More rain tomorrow maybe. I feel like we added on a room just for me. Hubby was pretty impressed.

I'm actually taking more time to really write too. Even my kids are influenced by my writing, reading and handiwork (that's getting done in the tents).

I'm making "DAD" bookmarks for the Father's Day Weekend Farmer's Market

I am working on a Granny Square Afghan using Barnat Yarn called Medusa. All those colors
come off of one skein. Isn't it going to be pretty (at least I think so. lol) This
pattern takes 127 squares and I only have 15 left to make and I can start putting it all
together. I will show the finished piece when I get it done.

peggy
