LOL THAT in one cute hat :)

I have been making myself a cowl, a cupcake hat (not one like yours Julie......but that is SO cute - I heart it )and wristwarmers (see my other post for pics)

Now I am knitting an angel, still have to crochet one sleeve for my cardi and the purple cardi is also almost finished. After that....on with cowls and other warm winter wear I think

Julie, I love the cupcake hat! I saw one in a magazine where the "icing" was white and it had "sprinkles" of multi-colored yarn. I will email you. Dianne in the Hudson Valley

These projects are so cute! I just finished my first "sushi roll scarf". I have 6 more to go for Christmas. DH thinks the scarf is cute, and the 7 DGDs will love them. Hope so. I've made it through the fish and cavier on the second roll and am working on the avocodo (?) section on the 2nd scarf.

This is a knitted cowl with cables. I found some lonely unique heirloom pieces to use as buttons. I used Caron yarn in Plum Wine.

Julie, I love that cowl. Very pretty, and just the right size. Can you share the pattern?

Finally, took pics of the sushi roll scarf. Forgot to take one of it unrolled (geometric look). Not sure..but I think this site was recommended by another farmgirl..I get lots of neat patterns by e-mail from them. AllFreeCrochet.com "Hooked On Crochet". They have a history of the pattern, and then the free pattern. Check it out.

Here is the sushi roll unrolled. It is completely double crochet (except for the foundation chain) The directions read to do so many stitches or measure in inches. I crochet rather loosely..so I used a tape measure. The long section of white rice is 36" long. The pattern is from AllFreeCrochet.com. I can e-mail the pattern to you if you want to send me your e-mail. Otherwise, just check out the site..it's great!

On a different note...I am trying to get my etsy store up and running. I haven't added anything yet but will soon. Just learning my way around it first. My store is going to be called SimplyHomeCreations.

Let us know when it is official, Julie! Yesterday and today I have been making black walnut ink. I'm putting it in 4oz. jelly jars for gifts to my artist DS, DGDs, and DSIL. I'll keep an eye on it for awhile since this is the first time I've made it. Next year I will brew it outside at the fire ring. This will give me time to acquire an iron pot. The process sure stunk up the house. DH was very patient, and did not complain. But...P-U! I strained the muck outside, and felt very backwoodsey
