Carla...I do embroidery and I think what you named your style of embroidery "String Art" is most
appropriate because you have indeed created a more complex art form out of it. Your work is
just beautiful and I can tell that you have put a lot of creative thinking into it. What you
are doing is much more like Crewel work than embroidery (at least that is my think so) but I
like your term of "String Art" for it the best!! I am also a Knitter but I do things with yarn
combinations that most people don't do...so I call myself a Yarn Artist. So, no matter what you
call your art form...you are definitely an ARTIST. If you called yourself a floss artist...some
might think you were a dentist. lol I am going to call you a String Artist...it describes your
work perfectly. Lucky Aunt!!! Who gets that beautiful piece of work!

Blessings,
~peggy

Are there other Farmgirl Sisters here who also make Chemo Caps? I'd love to be friends with you!

Teresita...The hats are awesome!!!! Much better than the ones I made for cancer patients.
But mine were well used and loved...the flowers just add that extra flair. Will
brighten many hearts I am sure!

I am working on a space to create.
My youngest is away at school, actually a semester abroad, which she plans to extend into the summer, and hopes to extend to another semester. While she is away, I am hijacking her room, and it's almost ready.I added bookcases for papercrafts, storage for fabrics, and my sewing machine. Here's hoping to actually start making something this weekend!

Carla, Your embroidery is worthy of the name "string art". It is exquisite. Teresita, I also love your hats! And JF Brown, I have a funny story...when my oldest went to college in FL (we live in NY), she wasn't gone a week before I turned her old bedroom into a sewing room. With 4 kids in a Cape Cod house, space is at a premium here and, since she moved into an apartment and took most everything with her to school, I thought...why not?! Dianne in the Hudson Valley

Hi Peggy,
Thanks for the info. I'll have to look up Crewel.
Yea, I sure hope my Aunt likes it. But the best thing has been how much I've learned doing it! And since I do this during meetings and while waiting in the doctor's office I get to talk to lots of people who come up and share their experiences with their art. Cool huh!

Those hat are great Teresita! Love the colors!
Smiles!

Ok, today I cleaned the chicken pens, picked a friend the last of the turnips, hand watered all my new fig and apple trees and blueberry bushes. Then I went to a friends and helped prune their fruit trees. Made supper, and now ready to crash...lots to do tomorrow!

Adorable pipe cleaner puppies! Deb, what is a drop spindle used for? I am not sewing this week, as I am on vacation in FL. But I am going to the best mom and pop sewing store The Sewing Studio in Maitland, FL. I can't wait! Dianne

I have a good friend who lives in Ontario Canada and she occasionally sends me postage stamps from Canada. They way out~shine ours here in the USA. Found some sweet little frames while thrifting and have been inserting the stamps in the frames and offering them in my bobbinrobin etsy shop.

Cutter quilt recycle project

This was a hard project for me as I consider myself a beginner seamstress-I do uphostry but thats just straight lines this was hard. Not only to find the good parts of a cutter quilt but to find a good balance & something acceptable to the eye plus I had to complete some repair work. Thank goodness I had that back issue of MaryJane's where they talked about just this issue. No I will dust off the tablecloth and pillowcase collections...lookout world. Reuse, Recycle & repurpose. tee hee hee

I just adore the framed stamps. However, I think USA stamps are just as pretty. How "large" are the frames? They are really cute.

I finally cut out the tunic dress I have been wanting to make. Straightening my sewing room this morning helped get me motivated. Perhaps tomorrow I will actually start sewing it!

Although I haven't been sewing (I was away then swamped at work), I wanted to share the pattern and sample chicken pincushion that LindaJo sent me. The second picture is of a bookshelf in my sewing room with handmade pincushions stitched by me and some other farmgirls. Dianne in the Hudson Valley

I am working on a quilt for my 3 yr old nephew, Kayden. I hope to have it finished this next week. It has his name in big block letters going diagonally down on the front side ... Also doing a little bit of scrapebooking!

Today I put the finishing touches on a special cuff bracelet I am making for my farmgirl friend Julie, and then had fun sorting through all my vintage buttons to choose some special ones for a barter I am participating in.

Just finished crocheting a rag rug for my back door using t-shirt yarn. I've also started making dish cloths - some for me and some for gifts.
