I'm working on care packages filled with all kinds of handmade goodies. I got out my past issues of MJF and am getting so many wonderful ideas for my current projects. You'll find them all on my YouTube channel and in my Etsy shop.

I decided I'll renew my subscription for more great crafting ideas. Thanks! MaryJane for the inspiration.

Sue -- I love that dragonfly pattern. I have never stitched with silk. I use mostly cotton. I also like to use linen thread.

Thanks, Judith. I've never stitched with linen thread but prefer to stitch on linen instead of Aida.

Wow Jessie, that pillowcase is beautiful. I've never been very good at embroidery. But truly love to see it done.

Sue, I've never tried silk. Interesting. Where do you find the silk? BTW, love dragonflies. Beautiful

Finished up a throw last week. It was a really fast knit. Am now working on getting my quilt marked and am working on a pair of Halloween socks

Sue, that dragonfly is beautiful.

Great work Judith. You quilt is very pretty.

Theresa, your throw is beautiful! Those colors with that pattern are perfect.

I finished a pocket shawl this weekend. It's super warm and cozy. I'm definitely getting excited for fall.

Oh, Krista, that is absolutely awesome!! Is it knitted or crocheted? It looks so cozy and useful too. Original design?? If so, you should get your aunt to publish it in the magazine.

Judith,
Beautiful quilt! That must have taken you a long time.

Krista,
Beautiful shawl. Is it knitted or crochet?

Teresa, What a great throw. Love the design

Judith, what a beautiful quilt. Your work is stunning.

Krista, Your shawl is awesome. Is that the one you were making for a friend or for you? If it's for you friend, she is one lucky girl. Love the pockets.

Thank you Denise and Krista. It was a quick knit and very warm.

Jean, it is crocheted and not it’s not my own design. My friend found it and I had to purchase the pattern. I wish it was mine lol!

Denise, it’s crocheted.

Theresa, yes this is the one I was making for my friend. It’s so warm and nice. I plan to make me my own in grey. I had another friend reach out to me asking me to make one for her, so I will make that one first.

Sue, I love your dragonflies! I've used both cotton and silk. I really do like silk, sometimes a project just needs some shine. I like to use both cotton and silk in projects. I store my silk thread in pill bags - little plastic zip top bags. It's the only way I found to keep it together. How are you storing yours? I'm looking for some ideas.

Thank you, Andrea! I haven't had an issue keeping the silk threads together. I have kept them in the little plastic bag they came in from www.fatquartershop.com.

I have a quilting question. I was antiquing in Indiana and purchased several bags of quilt blocks and pieces that were started: improved nine, grandmother's flower garden, and disappearing block. If I decide not to continue quilts with the pieces, how else can I use the blocks? I looked at Pinterest with not much luck. I'm also very carefully washing everything - the water has looked like tea! I hung 38 improved nine blocks on the clothesline today. So satisfying!

Grace, I stitch for an hour or so a few evenings a week, especially on the dragonflies, as this is a gift for a dear friend. I have it on a floor stand that I pull up to the couch. I find having the project out like this causes me to be more inclined to stitch while watching tv with hubby.

Depending on the size of the blocks, a nice reusable bag can be made. Make a front, back and two sides. Line them and attach handles. They can be large or small.
