Darlene, your rocks are pretty! I don't have the talent to paint. I have been doing some small quilting projects.

Jessica, I bought me a kids learning cross stitch a couple of weeks ago. Still haven’t opened it yet. Trying to catch up on a couple more projects first.

Love that Australian fabric! Learning to sew triangles is important. There are papers that make it easy but I like to just cut 2 squares #8542;" larger than I want my finished triangle to be, draw a diagonal line on the back, and sew ¼" on each side of the line. Cut on the line and you have 2 triangles.

I like that arrangement of triangles. I'll have to try it with my next swap quilt.

Thank you Grace. I used my sizzix to cut them out. What I cut with my sizzix seems to sew up so easy.

Winnie that pillow is WONDERFUL!! I'm stitching today to finish up a pillowcase to start more hand stitching. Mom has kept me well supplied with handwork, thankfully. I have tea towels and pillowcases to work on. I have a throw pillow in planning but not sure if I want to stitch or vinyl it.

I've been making progress today on a dragonfly cross-stitch pattern that I plan to frame and give to a friend who loves dragonflies. The fibers called for are silk, and this is my first time stitching with silk. So far, I like it better than cotton - it goes so smoothly through the fabric. Do other cross-stitchers here prefer cotton or silk?

Sue, that's going to be beautiful when you finish. Haven't done cross stitching for a while because of lousy vision. I have purchased some magnification that helps. Keep up the good work.
