Love the rug, Grace, you did a great job! And I agree Theresa, your Grandson is a lucky little boy. Lightening bolts on a hot pad! Krista they are so cute. I've had my sewing machine in to be cleaned and the tension looked at . All's well now so I'm looking forward to getting back to it!

ok,,, everyone has been uber busy,,, me on the other hand, I have spent the past week "Not in my Sewing room"... lol!
New oven installed, new windows through out the house installed,, gone trail riding (2x) and now I am stuck out in the garage,,, clearing out, organizing and cleaning.... but I did manage to 'knit' on a round knitting loom, 2 hats...
Now I am off to enjoy a large bowl of chocolate ice cream!!!!1

CJ, I love your potato bag material! It's really pretty!

Oh Grace, how I'm jealous of your large bowl of chocolate ice cream!

This last weekend I finished a pair of crochet slippers for a friend. It was a fun new challenge. I have now started making her a white pair. With how much she loves them I think I will be making me a pair.

Darlene,
I've actually never used a potato bag! Gonna have to make one for myself and use it! I made this one for my niece because she asked me to . . . hope she likes it!

I've used a potato bag before, and they seem to work pretty good. Krista, what cute slippers! I went a little "batty" during the hurricane. A good friend is really into Halloween so I made her this little guy. Matthew ended up being much a due about nothing for us. A little wind and rain, but nothing to be concerned about. Unfortunately those folks by the beaches were not as fortunate.

CeeJay, LOL because how many times we make something for someone else and never for ourselves!

Judy, cute bat! Glad you're ok. My sister is in Gulfport and was ok too. High winds only. Was glad she was on the opposite side! Know others who were in the line of the storm and they were also fine.

Darlene,
That is sooooooo true! I used to make these adorable sunbonnet girls, using a liter soda bottle and a lot of other stuff. They are so cute and I've made dozens of them, including one for my daughter, but I don't have one!

P.S. I think I will try to make me a potato bag. I cut extra pieces of batting, but have to find pieces of 100% cotton fabric to finish it. 100% cotton is what is recommended!

Today I finished the binding on 2 quilts and ironed 14 of the pennants for my Fall banner. Only a few more to sew and iron and then I will sew them to the connecting binding or twine - I haven't decided that, yet.

Tomorrow I hope to put the binding on one more quilt (the quilt has been on my bed for 1-1/2 years without binding - LOL!) and make squares from 2 BOMs I take part in. I have 2 more quilts that need binding, but those will be later. I also have to work on 2 Christmas table runners.

I love the baked potato bags - and use them all the time. Yes, 100% cotton is the best for them, PLUS 100% cotton batting. Any other fibers in the fabric or batting can cause them to burn/melt in the microwave.

I also love making microwave bowl potholders. They are the handiest thing to use - so you don't have to have potholders to remove bowls from the microwave. Your bowl is already sitting IN the potholder.

Thanks, guys! :)

I have now finished the gingerbread house felt ornament as well!

I'm about halfway through putting together a bunch of "ghost" tootsie roll pops for DS's classroom treat for Halloween.

I will stand them all up in rows by pushing the sticks into a sheet of white Styrofoam I've been saving. :)

Jaime, cute ginger bread house and fun ghost. I don't do Halloween but how about a Tootsie Roll scarecrow using burlap. May give it a try.

I finished brown work tea towel so later today I will iron on a pattern and start embroidering another tea towel.

Cute ornaments and ghosts, Jaime.

Today I was working on double sashings for some polka dot house blocks from a Facebook swap. Also made two blocks for two swaps. Have 3 more blocks to make and want to finish the sashings. Also need to put batting and backing on 3 table runners, a Halloween wall hanging and a fall wall hanging and then quilt them. Probably WON'T get all that done tomorrow. LOL!

I decide on the apron washday pattern and put it on a tea towel with orange stripes down the side. Will start embroidering tonight while watching British mysteries. Think I will do it in shades of orange. Only have one more tea towel with stripes down the side - time to replenish my stash.
