Hi Peggy,
I know what you mean, when I need a pick me up or inspiration, I start surfing Farmgirl style!! I love to barter with everyone. . . I treasure everything I receive and love to shop in their stores too!

Hope you post a picture of the poncho's, I would love to see them!

Today I have been working on an apron for my best friends Birthday. We have been friends for probably 50 years, My father grew up with her husbands father and I grew up with her husband and Our boys grew up together, Now we have grand children and they are growing up together and I think it is wonderful. Her Birthday is Sunday 4/25/and I didn't get the bias binding that I need to finish and I guess I will have to make some, the Apron won't be done by tomorrow when we have lunch, but it will be ok. I sent her spring flowers too.Farm sister #1020 Juanita

Hi Juanita, Your friend is a lucky lady to have you for her best friend! I am sure she is going to love her apron!! Your story has touched my heart, it is so nice to know you all have stayed close and that the grand kids are growing up with each other as well.
Post a picture of your finished apron if you can, would love to see it!

Every year the National Quilt Museum has a challenge. Quilters use a traditional pattern (this year's Orange Peel) and go from there. Since I am scaling back on "projects" to write more, cook more and live more, this quilt is my sewing project for the next several months. It's semi-round and has 36 different oranges. Look for a post in the fall!

Several projects at once (you can't GET more sidetracked than me!):
New little dolly to add to my stock for the Farmers Market where I sell in the summer
PJ shirt for my 4-year old DS - construction machinery print from Joann's remnant bin
Patchwork apron
Some clay stuff I need to get done.

There should be a blog post later today. Think I'd better change that to "this week."!

Melissa

BTW - so glad I found this group! All the blogs have such lovely eye-candy!

A productive day in my sewing room today. My family is home sick with a stomach virus, so between nursing them, I did some alterations, created mail art for a swap, sewed some heart shaped sachets for Mother's Day gifts, and read a great inspirational book about creative women--Where Women Create: Book of Inspiration by Jo Packham and Jenny Doh. I have several things that I should be working on today but I am going to type up a Mother's Day Poem
I wrote Last Night and send it off in my cards. And I hope to make it on to the Virtual Porch Later today
as it is much to windy and cold on my real porch today. I WANT SUMMER! I know I am whining...I'll go away now. ~peggy

Today and until they are all done I will be working on 7 scarves that I'm making for my teachers for gifts. I finished one over the weekend, and right away this morning, right to work on the next one!

Cozynana, that's awesome! I might go out and start to turn over my garden this week, although we have more snow in our forecast for the weekend. Maybe I will sneak in some peas. . they like the cold at least.

Joanna, you are not the first person I have promised to post pictures for :) I will definitely do that. I finished the first scarf in about two days, but during the week it might take a little longer because of school. But I hope to have three done by the end of the weekend. That's still five days, so maybe I'll finish more!

Wow - I posted here once and then forgot to come back. Mommy brain.
So, I still have to make all the stuff I posted about in the first post! It's not been a productive week. :-)

Oh, but I did finish my boy's shirt - and he wore it for 3 days straight. I thought I was gonna have to unbutton it while he was sleeping! So here's my list for today:

New little dolly to add to my stock for the Farmers Market where I sell in the summer (actually, just her hair and dress are left)
Patchwork apron
Some clay stuff I need to get done.
Farmgirl tiered skirt. :-)

Today I'm working on putting the finishing touches on a doll for the rescue dolly swap. Then to get my "girls" packaged up and ready to go to their new homes. I've had like no motivation to do anything here lately. It is driving me crazy!

It's a rainy, stormy day here so I'll be working on cleaning out another closet and moving things to my storage building. If I could get all the grown children to take their things to their homes I would have tons of space. Oh well, maybe someday when I pull out a storage container it will be my stuff.

Judy, I agree with you about the grown children taking their stuff with them. My garage is full of DS #2 stuff, car parts, etc. I sometimes feel that if he were to take it all with him, I would miss having him around--sort of a deserted feeling. It's probably just me, but as long as I can get my vehicle in the garage, I'm sorta OK with it.

The boy's shirt, apron, and the beginning of the dolly I mentioned in an earlier post are now posted on my flickr page:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/butterscotch_grove/

Still working on her hair and dress, but she's almost done. Started a new doll that will be all my own design, but I'm not sure if I'm gonna do clay or cloth for the head. This ones gonna be more of an art doll. She'll be a buxom gold rush girl. Maybe...if she agrees....

I am doing fabric inventory for my new fabric store. We had rearranged the bolts, so I need to update the fabric locations. Fun Huh? Not.
