Hey girls we just did a costume convention for my dear husband and I wanted to share a picture

I am Sleeping Beauty, my DS is Prince Phillip (from Sleeping Beauty) My DD is Repunzel from Tangled and my DH is the King from Tangled. We had a blast, especially my DH because people thought it was adorable that he went along with his DD.

Very cute Emily!
I finally finished the white Irish crochet doily I was working on and then I started working again on a '50's pattern called Flower Bouquet that's been taking me forever and a day to get completed,it's a mess right now with loose threads but it's tricky to arrange just right so I'm leaving them loose in case I have to take them apart and rearrange to get the outer crocheted circle round and neat when I get to that part.
I hope all you other farmgirls are enjoying thier days and projects!

How fun, Emily! What a blast you guys must have had!

Kathryn . . .I'm so envious or your doilies. I can't crochet (or at least I haven't learned yet) and I just love beautiful handicrafted doilies.

TODAY: I'm cutting out more aprons . . another good sale day at market yesterday! And, I hemmed my little lace trims for our glamp tent (I'll post pics of that later this month, after I put the tent back up and "install" the lace).
And, cut and hemmed large squares of super muslin for shilly-shallys for my daughter and me. Embroider on mine will be a work in progress . . as ideas strike my fancy. I can still use as I work on it though. Looking forward to getting started on it on our next glamping trip.

I made laundry soap, so fluffy and pink. Then my DIL brought in two bags of plums, so I set about making sugar plums. The first step is finished but they take a long time to complete. While the sugar plums were coming up to a boil, I cut up some more plums to make Chinese Plum Sauce. That is finished and all jarred up. So, now, I am resting. WHEW!!!

Life's too short to sit in a box all day. Get out and do something creative.

Kathryn...your doilies are gorgeous. I wish I could still crochet those small stitches but
my arthritic hands won't let me.

CJ...you can send that box of scraps when ever you get around to it...now that I am all moved.

Peggy,
I was just thinking about you and scraps yesterday as I was cutting . . . and putting the scraps in the bag. I think I have another boxful and I'll get it together and in the mail to you later this week.
Happy to send it to you!

I have been reading this string for quite a while. I was wondering if any of you ladies has an embroidery machine--you know, one of those very fancy machines that does things other than sew a straight stitch. I've been thinking about getting a new Husqvarna Viking embroidery machine and would like to know what you think.

I haven't been doing much of anything this week, just had catarac surgery Tuesday and not doing much, just resting my eye. I did do some peaches we had bought, Hubby and I cut them up in small packages for cereal and smoothies, freeze and just take them out when we need or want them. Do the same with blueberries and strawberries, Nice to have in the winter. Farmsister #1020 Juanita

Had a wonderful Thursday and Friday, but exhausting. I drove to Portland, OR and back in two days. While there I was able to see my granddaughter and DIL. They were visiting from CA. We had a good time shopping and just talking.

Well, this "apronista" just keeps busy making aprons. Made another bunch this past week for market today. Another good day for sales . . and now I'm cutting more for this next week's market.
LOTS of fabric getting cut around here.
Told a customer I go through PILES of fabric, miles of thread and acres of trims!

I'm still working on my MJFG patch. I just have to finish the inside of the patch and then put my number on it and it'll finally be done. I have a needlepoint Christmas tree skirt I actually want to finish this year that's been in the works for many years...LoL.

Lorie your patch is cute! Kristina that bookmark is really pretty!
I got frustrated with the flower bouquet doily and put that away and started working on a white doily ringed with cherries for my Mum's birthday coming up on Saturday,I hope I can get it done by then,I have the center white doily done but I still have to make 28 more cherries (calls for 48 altogether) and 32 leaves so maybe I'll get it done and if not I'm going to sew her an apron and one of my chicken pincushion and needle hens.
I made a couple of the pincushions and needle hens this morning and the rest of the day I spent canning apricots and peaches while working on the doily, busy day, kitchen seems much hotter when you're seven months pregnant too,I think the nineteen jars I got done will be all I do this season!
Anyways, here's a picture of the chickens I made this morning, heading to bed, busy day and I have an early morning appointment for an ultrasound to check on little baby boy,so exciting!
