Here are the two Brothers/Snickers is the first one and Brindle is the second one. They are both such Characters. Snickers is the Alpha-
Male but don't tell that to Brindle or he will try to prove otherwise. LOL Scotties are very vocal dogs and when those two get together
I have to constantly shut them up because one will start going and then the other one will go louder and then the other one goes even louder
and I am afraid they will wake up the entire Apartment Complex. (I wonder if that is why the people upstairs are moving out?) Just Joking. They are crazy boys!!! Very competitive with each other too.

Well, I'm going to put my hands on my hips here...if more people don't come sitten and chatten tomorrow. Then Friday I will round up
the Porch Possie to start haulen ya all back here. Draggen ya'all by your boots. Don't make me cranky!!!

Welcome to The Porch SandyLee...this is usually a very fun place to be...when every one comes home where they are suppose to be! LOL
Hope you will come back and stay awhile and share a little bit about yourself. We know you are building a cabin and you want a Porch
on the Front to sit and rock on. That sounds like the greatest adventure to me...building a cabin! The roof is going on...so that has
to be exciting. We would love to travel that journey with you...so come back and share.

Cherime...I love the night picture. Just looks so tranquil and inviting. How is the Gran doing with the seizures???? Praying for her.

Lorena...thanks for the info on the Author and where to find her Amish Books.

Becky...you are a busy little beaver. No wonder you can't find time to read. Sounds like when you fall into bed at night you are
nothing but exhausted....and you are probably out when your head hits the pillow. Your home is going to feel fabulous once you
get all the painting done. YOU GO GIRL!

CJ6...I knew I wasn't the only one who didn't like that creepy number. LOL

Well, didn't do anything exciting today except give myself a manicure and cut my hair. Made me feel a whole lot better.
But my house needs some attention. I'm sticking to the floors of my kitchen...every time I walk in there because I am on
Diet where you have to drink Fruit/and Veggie Smoothies for every meal...and I swear I get that sticky stuff everywhere.
The gal that does my floors and bathrooms twice a month is coming Friday and she is going to wonder what I have been up to.
Poor thing...it's a good thing I pay her to clean...she wanted to do it for free, but I wouldn't let her. She is going to
ask for double or nothing this week I am sure. LOL

Well...I am ready to go to bed and read a bit. You all have a sweet slumber and we'll chat again tomorrow.

Hugs,
Peggy

My GDD has to get an appointment with a specialist. But that one hasn't got the referral yet. Hurry up and wait. I am taking GDD on a little road trip. Her charge that she babysits is only 5 and in the mental hospital again so she is free. That poor little guy was probably damaged by the drugs given to Mom in pregnancy. Of course Dad helps as little as possible. The Mom has no other help than GDD. Hard situation.
off and away. Blessing all.

Cherime...you will succeed in your gardening. What happened to us with our gardens is that our first couple years were great. Then went downhill. Don't know what happened drought maybe. You will have failures too. But learn from them. We learned. That there's no battling Colorado potato beetles and potato blight. Lol.prayers to the 5 yo. That wrenches my heart as I have a son that age with apraxia. Even though what he has us a defect that with speech therapy he will out grow, it still hurts that something isn't right.

It's raining here. Son is at school. Hubby is at my parents getting one ton Dodge diesel inspected. He lost one of the wheels on the way down something with the lugs. A friends of his helped him out. I'm taking a quick break from spring cleaning. When you have a toddler not much of it gets done for awhile so it's much needed. I was thinking about how I was balancing my large body frame on my sink edge and wiping down shelves and open beams from it. I don't have a step ladder or stool. Itmust be a site. Gotta find a piece of Plexiglas or lexan to put over my stove to prevent grease splatters on my wall above the stove. I can't use plywood because I have no light above my stove and u can't put in a range hood

Peggy, I'm still here. Don't send the posse after me.

Been doing school work and even got a sewing day in. I have a job interview this morning for a secretary/bookkeeper at a local Christian school. It is only part time but enough money to get me by. I'll have plenty of time to sew at least.

Here is my latest creation.

Sorry it is sideways. Not sure why it does that. Here is a look at the top part.

Sigh, also sideways. ....

Anyway, off to get ready for my interview. Later all.

Hi!

Bunny -- Your dress is gorgeous. My iPad isn't locked, so every time I tried to see it upright it would switch the picture back to sideways. But it's great.

PeggyAnn -- Both your pups are adorable but I especially like Brindle's markings. What a couple of lovely friends you have there.

Well, I that's all because my daughter just popped up on Skype.

Have a pleasant day all!

First off PeggyAnn don't call the posy on me. I do try to stop by from time to time when I need a rest break. However, if too long, will not want to go back to work. So I will try to check in on Friday and visit a spell. Hubby says I need a break anyways.

Bunny love the dress. Is it your own creation or from a pattern? Would love to adopt that style for me. How's school going. I have been done with my semester for a week now. When does your end? Hope all is well. How did you do on your algebra test? Hang in there.

May the stars carry your sadness away. May the flowers fill your heart with beauty, and may hope forever wipe away your tears. Becky #4932

Thanks for the good words on the dress. I got it at the local Salvation Army store and "upcycled" it. It was quite a bit of work. I'm already to start on my next one. It is another black velvet like this one but with buttons down the front. It takes me a while to look at it and it tells me what it needs. Still haven't sold anything on my etsy site yet. I'm not giving up though.

Becky, I'm in school until June 15. Too far off for me. I'm ready to be done!
I got a c on my algebra test. I'm ok with it. As long as I hold that c I'm good.

Today is Mom's birthday so I'm taking her to a nice fancy restaurant. Time to get ready. Later all

Evening Ladies!
Better sit for a bit with you after laughing about Peg's suggestion of locking hubby in the barn! Why did I think about that after all these years??? Wait he may just get toooo much peace & quiet! Love you RED!!
Peg your dogs are just perfect!! Who could say no to those faces??
What awesome creations I see posted here....WOW.
I need to thank the FG that post pics of beautiful flowers & green grass that has kept me going this spring. We're having the coldest spring in 113 years. BRRRR! Our lake has broken up but some still have heavy ice pack. Our lake has finally crested & would seem that the flooding will pass us. Goodness that's been a worry! We just repaired the barn which would take the worst of the flooding so I really didn't want to see ducks swimming inside AGAIN!!
Our Mamma cat had her kittens yesterday in the barn.....3 bits of goodness! She's a great little mom!
Delivered bread & baking for my wee business today. I usually quietly drop the baskets off on the steps since I start my rounds by 4:30 & folks seem to enjoy the surprise first thing in the morning plus I can get my outside chores done before it's late.
OK Peg.....see I popped in but I really don't how exciting my life is to be able to share with others????
Looking forward to getting to know more of you!!!
Hugs Judy
\PS.....better let hubby out of the barn now or???????

country wishes!

I am heading for the nearest rocking chair...whew!!!!! I tell you three more days with my butterflies can't get here soon enough. They have been little stinkers. I am so ready for summer. The interesting thing is I am going to have that class again next year. I have been moved up to third and fourth and a class of 5 and 6 reading and writing. I did ask the Lord are you sure I need them another year. They are a handful. Apparently God thinks I need to clip on their wings another year. I am thinking I am going to be coloring my wings a lot.

well just wanted to pop in I don't want the posse after me.

Bunny your dress is lovely. You always do such beautiful work.

well I am off. I have some mother's day cards to get ready for mail and clothes to fold.
love to you all

Today has been kind of layback and lazy,I guess. I should go outside and start cleaning up the flowerbeds and trimming some things.Need also to look and see where the antique bulbs are coming up so I can dig some up to move them, look for where the garlic and onions are for the same reason.
I'm trying to get packages together for Mother's Day so they can get sent tomorrow and think of something to do for my daughters. One has two little ones and she and one of her sisters have both lost a little one...I wish I knew what to do especially for my daughter who's angel is in heaven,I want to acknowledge that she is a mom.I though of maybe a small teddy bear or making a small heart with baby and the date?
I am burning a candle frpm Bath and Body Works it's Limoncello and smells like a Lemon custard, soooooo yummy! Well, heading for bed soon...Night Y'all!

Evening My Porchies...

Welcome MayFay...hope you can come back on here and chat awhile. Understand why your stay was so short with daughter skyping you.

Ok...Becky you are saved from the Posse too.

Bunny...didn't realize that you had to go to school so long. Bummer. I bet you are ready for a break.

Judy...Well, here is my sweet country treasure on the Porch. Yahoo! Hey Judy...your life is probably even more interesting than some of ours. LOL
You are so funny...you always have great things to share.
Hope you let Walt out of the barn!
If you are making deliveries of your baked goods at 4:30 in the morning...when do you get any sleep? I know farmers usually get up early but geesh!
I love baby animals. I'm not a huge cat lover (because I'm allergic to them) but baby kittens are soooo cute.
I hope and pray that you guys don't get flooding. That is never fun.
And we have been having such warm and beautiful weather that I feel badly for everyone with cold weather still.
Hope you keep coming on The Porch on a regular basis girl! Love Ya!

Teacher Tammy...Oh, my goodness you get the same butterflies next year. Wow...I am going to pray that they have such a great summer that they will be sweeter and nicer and more mature next year....and only be very very good and kind for their Teacher.
We don't want Madame Buttersfly going grey before her time. LOL

CJ6...we all need those occassional lazy laid back days. There is always so much to do everyday...that it is just refreshing to sit and do nothing sometimes...but relax. So, don't ever feel guilty about it...life goes by too quickly as it is.
How sweet of you to think of doing something for your daughter who lost her baby. That is so special!

My youngest son texted me today and said that we are doing Mother's Day on Saturday...because Sunday it is suppose to rain and he knows I won't feel up to it then.
We will be celebrating Sadie as a almost new mama, her mother and me...all together. Shane is taking us out for Brunch and then the rest is a surprise. He is such a good son.

Tonight at Bible Study My Spiritual
Daughter Paula...gave her Mother and me each a beautiful beaded bracelt with a Watch hanging off it. They are sooooo neat. That was so extra Special to my heart.

Please pray for my son Patrick (he is 34) and was having chest pain all day.
So my youngest son took him to Urgency Care tonight and they gave him a chest exray to see if he was having heart or lung problems and they said it showed that was fine and no broken bones. So they think he pulled a muscle. But I am concerned because they didn't do any blood work to see if he had high enzyme levels or not.

Anyway, please keep him in your prayers.

Baby is still not here yet...but could come any time. She had dropped, and is dialated to 1 1/2 cent. He is going to be born in the next week...I am thinking.

Ok...I am really tired tonight. Had a great Bible Study...we watched The Movie about Arthur Blessed...the man who carried A Cross all across the World for 40 years. It was such an awesome story and had us all crying by the end of it.

Night Lovely Ladies,
Peggy

Surprise, Porchies! I'm back. I'll comment on just the last couple of pages and then update you on my happenings.
Peggy-Still loving your flower pics..so cheerful. Snickers and Brindle pics are great too. Nice to have them together. Yes, I will pray for your son. There is always someone to pray for. I loved the Hunger Games books. If anyone would like the paper back books, just let me know, I will mail them..no charge..Don't think I want to see the movies. I have the cast in my head.
Cherime-I'm still so impressed with your writing. I've always wanted to write..can't stay focused.
Becky, I just love your signature line. I, too, was in a foster home on a farm. Fell in love with the country. We had an outhouse, and went to one-room school. It didn't last long enough.
Missus Miranda, I have to go out to the garden soon and tame those herbs I wasn't smart enough to put into pots. 3 kinds of mint, thyme and mint. I have friends with 3 little boys. 3 yr. old Kyenne, and 1 yr. olds Mace and Sage. They are known as the "Spice Boys" (daddy is a chef) lol.
RFM Tammy- Your turkey pics are great! We have several flocks come through every day. But there is one lone turkey that comes in also. I names him One. That way I can say, Look, there's One.
TL Tammy- Your tea and scones were delish..thanks for sharing!
Judy- Good to hear an update on you and Momma. You girls work so hard!
Terri, I love Nevada Barr. I've read all her books so far! Tx too for the cozy mystery site. I looked it up, and ordered a couple of books on my NOOK.
Sandy- Your cabin with a porch sounds sweet. I would love the same just here in our own woods.
Lorena, I can see you perched on those cupboards, and wiping up behind the stove. I have those very issues.
Bunny, I love that dress. It just looks elegant. Wish I had your talent for creating.
CT Judy-Sounds like you are sooooo busy starting with your breading and deliveries. It sounds so pituresque and romantic...but then, I know its a lot of hard work and that's just the start of your day.

Now, to tell you a little of my last few weeks:
Last summer, DH bought a little '64 Triumph Spitfire. So, in April we visited friends in Omaha, where there were time trials at an old airport strip. DH just took pics this year. But, we plan to take some road trips in it this summer. While in Omaha, we went to Old Market! Neat cobblestone streets and lots of great shopping. Found a tea shop (had to stock up on treats for our tea exchange, ladies). Also went to an exhibit in Durham Museum (The old train station). The exhibit was Women Who Rock.
This started with a history of the suffrigettes up to today's women in music. With actual costumes worn by the women. From the blues, bible, and up to Shakira, Loretta Lynn, Madonna and Lady GaGa. Excellent!
I came home to the news that my dear sister had passed away suddenly from burst blood clots in brain. I loved her like best friend and mom. I am still in shock. We were reunited after being separated by adoption. But I did have 30 years with her. I could kick myself for not seeing her more ofter. My fault not hers. We had a memorial 2 days ago, and I spent an overnight with 2 sisters and cousins reunited with. Luckily, I have learned from the Farmgirls to keep a little stash of gifties, and was able to give them each knitted dishcloths and tiny jars of honeysuckle jelly.
Also went to Minneapolis to a dedication of a new community for a friend's son. This is the young man who was autistic and was shot by policeman last yeaar as he was having a meltdown while holding an aunt hostage. The community room was for the LifeWorks agency which trains and places persons with some disabilities for employment. They had a beautiful placque with his pic and name on the wall.
Farmgirl hugs to all of you! Hope your ears aren't sore from all this.
forgetmenot

And, I will have 4 GGbabies. So, that means 4 baby showers. Fun!

It's Saturday and I was unable to take the day off yesterday like I wanted to. Today is a put things away leisure day. I am in so much pain from painting and moving furniture that I need a day of rest and little things to mend my old poor aching body. 50's is not the time to act like your still in your 20s.
Wow Bunny, I also did not realize that your school lasted so long. I thought college got out earlier. My classes ended the last week of April with finals the following week. Our grades were posted by the 6th of May. I had a fairly easy semester and did pretty good. Next semester will be my final easy semester and then the tough times begin again. About the only hard class I will have is Applied Calculus. Not really looking forward to that class. How much longer do you have before you AA. I love the dress and never really thought of doing what you do. I have a ton of sewing to do after the house painting project is done. Maybe I'll make the outfit or put a picture up and see if it talks to me like yours does and see if I can change things up a bit. Thanks for the inspiration.
Peg I wish I had a barn to locked my husband in sometime. Maybe then he would finish some of those projects he has been promising me since we got married 4 years ago. Our garage looks like a lumber yard, garden center, and junk yard all at the same time. I love your dogs. I have a small bishon fishe and would love to get her a companion but we already have two cats and her and no place for them to roam around yet. But one day soon.
Judy, wow out and delivering at 4:30am. I bet that is the best time for you. I love the early morning time when the world is still asleep and you have your thoughts and also the time to watch as dawning breaks over the horizon and the world wakes up from its sleepy slumber. The birds singing and for me that is when I walk Angel so that I can enjoy the early morning time alone with her. It is a whole lot warmer here than where you are because I live in Florida. How exciting it must be for you.
Tammy, hopefully next year when they see you back they will show you a whole different side because they have grown older and wiser over the summer. At least you can hope so. I will pray that with age will come wisdom and maybe have God give then a niceness dose for the school year. You should only go gray with your own children not someone else's. Enjoy the upcoming summer and maybe you will find inspiration during this time to find ways of coping with the little stinkers come fall.
cj, oh how I wish I could have a layback and lazy day. After all that is why I took the summer off from school. Although you wouldn't know it the way I have been working around here. Can I come over and sit with you a spell and you teach me how to relax since I don't know how. My husband is always telling me that I can't even sit and watch a movie without something in my hands. We watched 2012 sometime back and I was working on a Christmas gift for my mother-in-law and nearly completed the thing in two hours watching that movie. It was full of drama and excitement that I just crocheted away.
Judith, I am so sorry to hear about your sister. I have two sisters and 2 brothers that I have no clue where they are as they were adopted. At least you had 30 years with her. Remember the times you had together and cherish the knowledge that you were together. We all have things that we would have like to change especially when we lose someone we love. I know that the times you spent were very special to both of you. Sounds like you had a great time in Omaha. There is nothing better in life I think that exploring new places and finding hidden treasure while you are there.
I want to thank everyone for making me feel welcome. I usually find it very hard to make friends. Living in several foster homes and finally an orphanage for all those years during my childhood that is one thing I never learned how to do. But I fell welcome here. I am trying and maybe as I get older I will get better. I have nothing new at this point. I am still working on painting the inside of my house and am half-way done. Only three more rooms and then the task will be done. I do have my herb garden done and it came out nice. It only waits for the table that my husband promised me for it to be complete. Maybe someday soon.
Have a beautiful weekend and enjoy the sunshine within your hearts.

May the stars carry your sadness away. May the flowers fill your heart with beauty, and may hope forever wipe away your tears. Becky #4932

Judith,
Glad you like the cozy mystery site. I go back to that again and again when I need something new to read.
I don't know if you remember the Harlequin books but they have expanded to include mysteries, Christian stories, heartwarming and the others if you like that.
The new website is www.readerservice.com. You can subscribe for about $20 a month and they will send you 4-6 new novels (paperback) that are always good light reading.

Bunny, Great dress! I understand how sometimes you have to wait on stuff to tell you want to do with it. There are times when I have to read something for a while until the characters tell me what they want to do in a story. Praying for that ‘C’ to hang in there.

Peggy, the puppies are great. My Grand daughter’s dog that I seem to have inherited appears to have finally stopped chewing stuff he shouldn’t. The GD has to see a specialist and they have not set the appointment up yet.

Judy glad to hear that the flood problem resolved itself.

TL Tammy, hope you get a really good rest this summer.

CJ6 That is a hard one. My DD only had one little one and he was a still birth. Only time seems to help that one.

Judith, the characters tend to write their own stories. As I said to Bunny sometimes I have to step back for a day or so until I get the message.
I like the spice boys. That is a good one. That Spitfire sounds like fun.

Rebecca, I did not do well with friends in school as we moved a lot. Then my sister and I have only managed to reconnect in the last 20 years. We did not get along as children. I tried really hard to have my kids get along. Ah well 2 out of 3 isn’t bad.

Terri, believe it or not I found that Barbara Cartland has some books on Smashwords. The only problem is that she has them in pub. format only. That does not down load to my Kindle well. I am going to break down and read it on the computer.

Blessings all.

Wow! I had a lot of reading to do! Fibro and work had me in a head lock the last 2 weeks. But I actually got to rest today. Hopefully with the warmer weather, the fibro will relaxes. I loved all the flower pics, the turkeys and the beautiful dress! And I'll have to try out a few of the receipts, even the laundry detergent!
Judith I am so sorry about your sister. Prayers for you and your family.

Welcome to the new sisters!

My sweet daughter wanted to earn a few dollars, so I let her make a few scarfs I've been ask to make (I make custom order stuff as a way to earn extra $$). I asked her what she was spending her money on and she said "material" My baby is making her 1st quilt!

Well, time to visit with Mom. I hope everyone has a lovely Mother's Day tomorrow.
Blessings

WOOOOW just have to put my feet up for minute because it's been a looong day but a good one! I've been reading a book about the pioneer women who helped settle SK & I truly don't know how they survived!!! Just a wee bit about one lady's life....her young family including a baby arrived in SK too late to build a sod house & had to flip their wagon upside down & live underneath it for the winter. Now that's a tough life!!! My day seems like a piece of cake!!!

With Mother's Day tomorrow I made lemon cookies shaped like coupons with little messages in icing saying things like "one free foot massage" & tied a bunch up with ribbons & added tea bags in the bow for each of the farm ladies in our area! I had soooo much fun delivering them....just seeing the total surprised faces. OK....honestly WAS having fun until this giant moose of a dog jumped on me & flatten me on the ground. It's name was....& this I'm not kidding about...."TINY"! As I was chocking for air with TINY standing on my chest I had a totally different name in mind for the big boy! Note to self....bring extra cookies for him next time!

Well Ladies I won't have a chance to hop on the porch tomorrow so for all the MOMS out there have a very HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!! Hope the sun is shining for you
Smiles Judy

Good Evening My Porchies....

Wow it is great to see some good friends back on The Porch! As Well as our New Porchies!

Judith...it was so good to have you back...I am very sorry to hear about your Sister passing. I am coming up to the 1 year anniversary of my sister's death (July 8th). I really miss her...just like you are missing your sister.
For the first 6 months after she was gone, I journaled to her....because we had talked everyday for the last 12 years. So just a suggestion...if you feel like picking up the phone and calling your sis...just pick up a journal and have the same conversation. It really helped me.
My heart is feeling your loss my friend.

Sounds like you and hubby had a fun last few weeks. When I was in my 20's and 30's the Triumph Spitfire was my dream car. I just thought they were so classy.

Well congratulations on the 4 upcoming grandbabies. My Grandson is due anyday and I am so excited. So, now you have new life to look forward to and that is always so fun to plan and anticipate for.

Becky...We are so happy that you feel part of this group. We just love having you with us. This is such a fun and safe place to share with a bunch of really special farmsisters.
And the more the merrier.
Hope you get those room finished soon ...so you can sit and relax for awhile. Wish I had even half of your energy girl.
How hot is your Florida weather right now? We made it to 85 today and it was kind of humid. But I will never complain about sunshine and heat...it makes my fibro do the happy dance.

Terri...I have never been happy with book clubs where they pick out the books for you. I have to pick them out myself...and even then I pick an occassional bad one but then I have no one to blame but myself. LOL

Cherime...glad the GD dog isn't chewing anymore. That is the stage that I really don't like either. I have lost too many pairs of good shoes, table and chair legs etc.

Brindle is my son's dog...but we get the boys together as often as we can to play.

Shanda...sorry your Fibro was kicking your backside. But glad that you finally got a day to rest.
How cool is that...that your daughter wants to make her first quilt.
That is exciting.

Judy...my treasure, so glad you popped back on here. Oh, that book you are reading sounds both very interesting and very harsh. I would have never made a good pioneer woman...I don't like such extreme hardships. Did that family with the baby who lived underneath their wagon survive the winter????

That was such a sweet thing you did for your neighbors.
I can just invision "Tiny" flattening you like one of those cute cookies you made. LOL The problem was that you didn't give him a plate of them first!!! You either need to learn to carry a big stick or a big treat just for him.
Happy Mothers Day!
Red

Well, today my youngest son and dil
took both Mothers out for Mother's Day Early. First we had a quick Starbucks...then we
went to Portland for Brunch at a Restaurant named The Cadillac (neither of us mom's had ever been there before.) We had a lovely meal. Then we headed back to Vancouver and were surprised with an Apptmnt for Family Pictures. So, I got a couple with my son,
Sadie got a couple with her mom,
then they did a couple of the two of them together/pregnancy type pictures...they turned out so cute.
And then Sadie had some pregnancy photos done...where they wrap her in
Blue Netting because she is have a boy...and then they take pictures of her
little bare baby belly.
Oh, us Grandma's just loved watching that. I personally love how showing off the baby bump is embraced much more now...then when we had babies and wore smocks to cover/hide the baby bump. I think women look so beautiful when they are pregnant. And Mercedes...wears my Grandson...so beautifully! She has 10 day until her due date but I'm thinking he is ready to make his grand entrance anyday now.
While we waited to view the pictures...
we went down to Seas Candy and got a couple pieces of Chocolate each. Yummy...I was good and only had one.

After that...we were going to go to the Vancouver Farmers Market but it had just closed. It took us longer to do the pictures than the kids thought it would. Then we went to Kohl's and Sadie's mom wanted to get a new pair of sandals. My son said, "Mom...we want you to pick out a new outfit and we will get it for you for Mother's Day...but I just couldn't do it...they need to save their money for baby Elijah. And besides I'm loosing weight and so this is NOT the time to buy new clothes anyway. So, I had a GOOD OUT...not to spend their money.
We had just a lovely day as it was...and both of us Mother's (who dearly love each other) enjoyed spending our Mother's Day together...that was a first.

Now I am tired but want to get up to see Ruth Graham at Church in the morning...so, good Night My Porchies.

AND HAVE A BLESSED MOTHER'S DAY EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU.

hugs,
Peggy

I'll sidle back on to the porch and grab a seat at the end and try to join in again, if I may. :)

Judith -- condolences. Those unexpected passings are really something. Kinda hit you in the gut.

Judy -- I love stories like that. Shows what we can manage if we had to, not that I'm seeking an upside-down wagon kind of life! It was nice of you to take your neighbor farmgirls such nice gifts. Braving giant dogs to do it, too! How could you have a bad day if someone was dropping nice things off at your doorstep early in the morning? You must be well-loved for your early morning deliveries.

cj and Rebecca -- lay back, lazy and leisure. . . they're all good "L" words! :)

Shanda -- hiya!

Cherime -- I look forward to seeing what your characters are up to. I see you're a writer. I'll have to find out more about that up here on the porch.

Peggy -- thanks for the greeting, and isn't great that See's gives samples? You can stay slim and on a budget while getting good chocolate, too. ;)

I'm having a peaceful Mother's Day. My mom passed about a year ago and she did her best, she really did, but she was an unpleasant person, and I feel relief that she's gone. I pull out the good memories with her from time to time and think about those. My six children are grown and far flung, so the only raising I'm doing these days is the with the plant-babies in my garden and yard. For about a year now, quiet and a great deal more solitude has suited me just fine. I have some grandchildren from my middle daughter, but the rest are pursuing career and education goals and putting off having children for what seems to me an unnaturally late amount of time. My daughter chasing her PhD complains at 31 that she wanted children years ago but feels she can't have them yet. My advice of, "Just do it; it works itself out" seems incomprehensible and bordering on crazy to her. One day, after she's had a few kids, she'll see the wisdom in it, but not now and from where she's presently sitting. Children are the best things ever.

Wishing all a wonderful Mother's Day,
Stephanie
