Happy Sunday Girls!
Everybody seems to be in one stage or another of Spring cleaning&clearing. I too have been ridding out things. With a 2 story house that was a duplex with an adjoining door, I seem to do everything twice. DH bought this place in 1990 and I moved upstairs in '91. When we married 5 years ago, we just sort of left it a duplex since we were both 51 and very independent&set in our own ways. His part is browns&tans, darker, manly smells...my part is brighter, candles&lace, girly smells.LOL We share the whole house now but still have our own places to retreat too when we need too. My oldest Nephew says that if he ever has to buy another house, he's buying a duplex so he can have his own place when he needs to get away! LOL What have I started? *giggle*
So anyhow, we have 2 of everything and I'm trying to thin out some of it. So I've been really busy this week. My Back's crying "Uncle!" hahaha
We have had some very cold nights,20's&30's, so haven't been able to plant anything yet. I'm chomping at the bit to put some houseplants outside and plant some Easter flowers that are wanting to be outside. Getting impatient I guess.
Well, bedtime for me.
Goodnite Gals!

Good Evening My Porchies....Well, didn't make it to the Church over in Portland but did make it to the last Service at our Church...and God just knew that is where we needed to be today. It was so awesome!!!! Our Pastor and his wife were really struggling today...they have a 21 yr old son who is in Mexico...but who has a heroine addiction. He had tried desperately to get off of it for about a year now and we thought he was doing well... but they just found out this week he is back on the stuff. It is just breaking their hearts. It gave all of us a chance to rally around them in prayer and encouragement. Anyone who has raised children know that there can be some real gut-wrenching times. And nothing can rip your heart wide open like a suffering child (no matter how old they are).

Despite their hurting hearts...they were their doing what God would have them to do....and it made their Test a
Testimony. It was a beautiful thing....even shared through many tears.

Bunny...oh, that is too bad you had to remake the Wallhanging...but I know what you mean about wanting your samples to look prestine.

Don't forget Porchies...that if you were in on the 500 page Swap...we all want to see what you get from your partner...so please post pictures. Thanks!

Lynette...sorry about noticing the sweating but it is because I use to have the same problem and it too was from a medication that I took. Can you isolate what it is that is making you do that? If so, I would get off of it. And try a different prescription to help with the health issue.

I love flowers and they are my favorite thing to take pictures of. I probably bore every one to tears with my floral pictures...like people who carry a zillion pictures of their kids. LOL

Tammy and Lynette...I think every woman goes through that empty nest syndrome (even if your nest isn't empty yet...but everyone has become independent in your household)...all of a sudden you look around and realize that nobody seems to really need you any more. And here you have given your entire life to these children and they went and grew up on you and they have their own cars and they can take themselves here and there. We can all relate to that feeling of "Now, what do I do? I need to feel needed and useful and find a new purpose in life! But, I look around and it's just me, standing here all alone." Tammy...you are doing exactly what you need to be doing right now. You are looking forways to "Connect with other Women". And before you know it...your life will take on a whole new wonderful chapter written..."Woman to Woman...Heart to Heart." You see, we all need that connection with other Women....and when you find it...you will find your Community of Sisterhood. And your desert...will begin to bloom!
A Bible Study Group is a great place to find that bond...if it is a group of women where you feel safe and secure to be open and honest.
A knitting Group or Crochet Group or Book Group is another avenue to make those new connections. And MJF is also that community of sisterhood too even if it is Cyber Sisters.
We learn so much from each other. And we receive so much encouragement and approval from one another too. So, find those groups that you can make "Community" with.
I happen to have all those venues of sisterhood in my life and I Praise God for each and every circle of friends he has blessed me with. I am indeed the Richest Woman I know. (not monetarily but in friendships). We all need to be loved and needed and we all need to love and be a blessing to someone else.

Angela...you poor darling, we are praying for you. It doesn't rain but it pours huh? Hang in there...God is going to get you through this one too.

Janet...sounds like you have been having fun out in the yard and gardens. Your dinner sounded yummy too. I can't remember the last time I had a grilled steak. My son still owes me a steak or prime rib dinner...I am going to have to cash in on that promise pretty soon.
His treat for everything I went through, getting these dentures. LOL

Ruthie...don't you wish all us girls lived close together? We would just have the best times together. Nobody would get lonely or bored or need a helpen hand...because we would just be right there for each other.
It's a beautiful desire and thought...non the less...isn't it?
You keep up the good work down-sizing girlfriend...you will NOT regret it!
It is a great accomplishment!

Judy...that is so funny about your duplex situation. But it would work for me girlfriend. My husband has his own bedroom and his own office...and he has to keep all messes limited to those two rooms. If his messes start leaking in to my living spaces...we have words. LOL Funny but true. I figure...that I can close the doors on those two rooms when we have company. Every night before bed...we have a routine that he picks up his stuff out of the living room and hauls it to his room....and I do a tidy-up on everything before I go to bed. That way...our house stays clean. And I always do up any snack dishes too. I hate to get up and have dishes in the sink in the morning...puts me in a bad mood right off the bat. I just want things neat and tidy. I am not a perfectionist...but was raised by a perfectionist mother...so my husband thinks I'm close, but I am not. He would have never been able to live under my mother's roof believe you me.

Well off to bed...more tomorrow.
Sweet Dreams!
Peggy

Good Morning Ladies! Time to write y'all my weekly book...

Tammy- I told DH about the rodent problem. I had never even thought about that with all the foreclosures. I have no idea how I would combat that. We do have lots of cats and dogs and hawks(?) in the area.

Those GPS stories are funny. I just so happened to have put the MapQuest app on my phone and it worked well the other day. I did miss one exit because it wasn't the same name, but I got myself u-turned and headed the right way. Someone had posted a thing on FB once about googling the directions to get to Thailand, I think, and for real part of the directions said to swim.

Sarah- I'm going to have to watch that Tucker & Dale movie. I love comedies but I have outgrown the college drinking bikini wearing ones.

Peggy- Sorry to hear you are having to move so soon. I have to admit I'm a little confused. I thought the house you were living in now belonged to your son. I hope you do find something soon. It's no good feeling trapped by bills. And your flowers are so beautiful. What a blessing to have those in your yard. That is terrible news about your pastor's son. Drugs do such terrible things to people. It's so sad seeing parents in the hospital and their kid is laying there on life support because of drugs. You can see the anguish because they feel like failures and they never intended to bring a child into the world to end up like this.

Angela- I'm sorry you were feeling disorganized. Have you checked out the FlyLady's site? She's been a great help when I'm feeling overwhelmed by the house, the spouse, and life in general. Hope your daughter feels better. And lord, I would have the doctor check my DD's head for a brain if she stuffed her ear full of playdoh. Lol! The things they do. Of course mine rode her bike off the porch and busted her head that one time...

Judy- You have a very interesting living arrangement. I would love having my own space to retreat to. DH would argue that the whole house is mine but there's always someone else's stuff dropped here and there. I'd love to have a frilly girl spot to escape to and eat my bon bons.

Debbie- I hope your family troubles are getting worked out. Good for your niece for sticking up for herself and not backing down.

Netty- Ohhhhh...Squeal! Isn't that a cute apron. I love the little collar at the top. Almost like a Peter Pan collar. The material is so colorful. I'll get your package mailed out tomorrow cuz I'm just lazy. Ha ha actually I live out in the country and I'm saving on the gas. It really benefits you, though, because there's still a whole day for me to throw stuff in the box.

For the Square vs Intuit people. I got both and haven't used either. There were a couple of things about Square I did not like. There's no phone number. To contact them you have to email or Facebook. Some people have had billing issues. And despite saying there's no credit check I was at first turned down by Square due to credit. However, they said I could use it to process cash sales. I posted it on FB and said that was the stupidest thing I had heard of. Why would I use it to process cash sales?! Within a few hours I had received an email saying there must have been some kind of mixup and I had been approved to take credit/debit cards. I had no issues when applying for Intuit. But like I said, I have no experience actually using them.

Ruth Ann- YOu're doing a great job with all your house cleaning. I wouldn't dump all your stuff from high school. Just box it up nice and tight. Of course you don't want to keep every scrap but a few things are fine. I kept my yearbooks, pepsquad uniform, cards, and graduation cap and gown.

Patsy- I, too, received my tea. Thanks for brightening my day. It is one of my most favorite teas.

Now it's time to post some pics...Yee haw!

The kittens will be a week old tomorrow. One has it's eyes halfway open. They all like to eat a lot. I'm not sure if she had kittens or piggies.

This is the bear I made for that lady. I have decided not to make the bears in full. It's tedious putting them together and then it's not fun. I did tell her I could make the different parts but she would have to assemble them. Here's her blog addy in case you want to see what else she makes. She does wonderful dolls...http://pjcraftsinaustin.blogspot.com/

I met some Sisters On The Fly at the Country Living Fair! They are very sweet and we all took pics of each other and hugged and laughed.

Super Cute!

Yes Please! Inside one of their glamping trailers. I'll be doing a blog post with more pics of the fair soon. I'll let you know when that goes up.

Lastly, I met a man yesterday who turns out to be co-owner of a fabric shop. I've never been there but the online reviews are very positive. A lot of young designers go there and their fabric comes from LA once a month. Apparently it's very well priced and not your standard big box store fabric. Anyway, I now have a 15% off lifetime discount. I will have to get over there soon!

Well, Porchies, I'm back from the surgery center. DD is doin fine now. The dr gave us a little cup with the playdough in it. There was quite a lot of it. The dr is still concerned about the tonsils and adnoids. The 20th was the soonest they could get her in for her sleep study. The sleep clinic only does pediatrics on sundays. It will take 2 weeks to get all the info and the insurance acceptance, then she's back in for the next surgery. This will be her third one.

We thought she would only have the one on her back when she was 7. She still has to go in for a second back surgery when she's 18. It will be mostly cosmetic. The fat pad that was left to cover and protect the spinal area where the initial surgery was done. It needs removed, but not until she is safely over puberty, and they want to cover her surgical scar, which will be very large and stretched lookin from all her growin.

Janet...I so want to be able to say I've planted my potatoes. I've got them ready. I've got the box for them built. I still need dirt to put in it.

Judy...I like the duplex idea. I'd be stickin my kids in the other half though. They drive me crazy with all their stuff drug from room to room. I even find things they drag in that I was sure I'd gotten rid of already! They are so onry.

Ruth Ann...I'm proud of you too! I'm really reducin and recyclin with this move. I have a basement for storage, but I refuse to pile it up.

Peggy...Glad you got such a good message. I love testimonies that can inspire and help.

I'm off to get started on my chore list and dinner. We are havin baked butternut squash sprinkled with cinnamon and fried corn.

Peg, love the lilies. Understand about being tight. It is a bit that way here since being cut back to 3 days a week and it will get tighter once the office is closed and we are retire. God will provide as He always does.
Tammy. Ouch on that storm. I know about the roof thing. Me too.
Blessings all.

Tammy, now you do know I live just about in the middle of no where!!!

No, really I live over on Hwy 8 between Chester and Superior. We are right at 10miles east of Superior and 12-14 west of Chester, and the closest fabric store is 30 miles away. I do love where I live, I am only about 20 miles where I grew up on my folks farm, well until I was 14. Then we moved to Texas, my dad couldn't keep the farm going,
and I lived there for 14 years. So I am kinda back in my old stoppin grounds.

Peggy I sure hope you know I was just joshing you about my sweating, I was not upset. I like to kid around a lot with people, sometimes it don't come across that way on this computer. So I surely hope I didn't hurt your feelings.

Angela, girl I will keep you in my prayers with your kids. I know how nerves can go haywired with youngins in pain or sick. Know we are feeling for you!!

Hello Porchies.

I still haven't heard from my sister. They are in the process of moving, but you'd think they would call me to let me know how my neice is. I guess I'll take it as a sign she's doing ok.

Angela- Keeping your family in my prayers also. Wisdom teeth aren't a fun thing to be healing from. I only had 1 taken out and that was enough for me.Hope your other dd gets the surgery done, sounds like it's much needed.

Peggy- I am amazed at the lilies. I try to grow some each year and each year I have to admit defeat. Always something. This year the dogs broke the stems off. I do have 3 surviving in a container so far. I'm typing that softly, so the kids and dogs don't figure it out.

Nettie- that apron is gorgeous. I'm not very good at sewing. I dream of having matching aprons with my girls. And someday add grand daughters to that. (I'm almost 40)

I walk outside and the aroma of lilacs are really in the air. I need some non drowsy allergy medicine.
Today is another daughter's birthday. She's 13. Hard to believe. Boy they grow up soo fast. My honey's knee is doing much better. He says it itches now. So hopefully that's good. Spent a good portion at my sister in laws this weekend. We had fun. We even went out to lunch. I'm off to the post office and to pick another daughter up from school. I'll be back to check on everyone. Take care. Hope your all having great days.

Hi Everyone

Sorry I have been MIA for so long.

I did not epect it to be so crazy at work. I work with seniors at the high school. The ones who do not have everything together to graduate. Now it is a scramble to get everything done and in on time. I have been telling them this since January, but I guess it did not sink in till after Spring Break!

Any way I am not going to go back I do not even know how far back I need to go. LOL
I am just jumping back on. Know that I have not stopped praying for all of you.

Peggy I understand about not being able to afford where you live. I will pray for a miricle for you. I hate to move too.

Debbie I did not go back far enough to find out about your family. But I will lift you in prayer because God knows.

Angela it sounds like you have your hands full. Prayin for you.

I will probably be hit and miss for the next couple of weeks.

Evening Porchies,
Well today was a busy and non productive Monday. Went to take the curriculum to the day care and took the wrong lesson plan. Drive 30 miles round trip. Then had to come home write a lesson plan for this week and drive another 30 miles round trip to deliver it. Only to get there and discover the master lesson plan was at home. Ug!!!! So then I had to race to the home and to the post office so I could mail out the master plan. It's not easy to get a lesson plan done in a short time as the children don't cut yet and all the crafts need cut out and math games made. I feel so challenged today.
Madea wonderful dinner tonight that included:stuffed peppers, mashed potatoes and pumpkin pudding with whip cream . Of course we mustn't forget the ice tea. It tasted so good . took a little nap and now cleaning up the kitchen before my show starts in 20 minutes. Clothes in the washer and dryer. So hubby can fold them as he's so bored.
Better Run,
Ruthie Ann

Ok almost time for my show. I have another one of my crazy ideas swirling around in my head. I want to take some rug yarn and crochet a cover for the swifter. I have no pattern and not sure how to do but to measure the swifter base and crochet a retangle shape till the 2 sides would meet on the top then try to place in the swifters pad holder holes or use velco to hold it on. Then use remove and wash. Any ideas ? What do u think about this idea? Just thought this would safe me some and use up this rug yarn a friend gave.
Please give me your input.

I love this place - I've missed you guys!

Julie - I think you would really like the Tucker & Dale movie :) Thanks for posting the pic of the dolly you made.

I was over on your blog & thought it was cool that you mentioned the Letters of Note site. I spent a whole afternoon on there one day!

Diane – Nice to meetcha!

Angela – You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

Peggy – Lilies! I’m jealous!!

I’m glad to hear you’ve decided not to move unless (until?) you find the Right place for you. You never know; you just might get to stay. Have you talked to the landlords? The last place I rented, when the landlords found out I lost my job they dropped the rent by $100 for 5 months.

Netty – How cool is it that you have a yarn store in town! Your apron rocks, too. I love the rooster/barnyard fabric, and the chickenwire accents– great design work! (PS – Who even needs shorts when you have an apron that great?)

Mike and I saw an animal rescue on TV a few months back that was in Superior, Michigan. I know its not the same place, but I remember thinking it would be funny if there were a place called Inferior…

Cherime – WOW! You’re handiwork is inspiring & I LOVE IT! Derek (One of the guys in the band) came over the other day and when I brought him a drink of water, he thanked me and said, “It feels like I’m at a tea party.” He was just being a smart aleck, but I can’t help it – I am so proud of the work I have done here that I must have been beaming! “That’s the idea!” I said.

Well, then, a couple days later, just out of the blue, he started telling me about how I have it looking nice in here – and that there really wasn’t much more I COULD do. So, this time, he was trying to compliment me, but I, of course, heard it as a challenge!

I’m going to post some pictures of my projects on the blog soon! You will see I have a LONG way to go – and I’m gonna need tons of advice from people who have been there! I’ve need floors, ceilings, and everything in between…

Ruth Ann – Way to go – clearing out seems to be all I get done, and my old man has the same gripe, even though we started out with three households worth of stuff to go through. I think I have it down to two now (but it’s been a fight every time I have taken a load to the donation center. <sigh>

I say – keep the yearbook, recycle the material from the cap & gown, (pillows? decorations?) make a scrapbook page with the newspaper, etc. I bet you could make some kind of decorations for the new house!

Itemizing all those donations for taxes was NOT fun! If you donate a lot of stuff over the course of a year, IT’S WORTH IT to KEEP TRACK AS YOU GO!; I recommend ItsDeductible online.

Also – my sister uses Space Bags and swears by them.

I had a wonderful time with the kids this weekend. We played catch, and Derek joined in when he got here. (They just love him; they think he’s a rock star!) Then Mike made us quesadillas to order and we all read to each other. I got them both new books since the last time I saw them. Maia got a Dr. Seuss book, and Quentin got a book called The Boys Book of How to be the Best at Everything. They both loved that one, and are already asking for the whole series!

On Saturday, Maia earned her first Young Cultivators Merit Badge – It’s Not Easy Being Green. Then she and I made button bracelets, and worked on sorting out our new embroidery floss. They both had fun playing Snap Circuits; which is kind of a game, but it’s actually building circuits to teach them how electricity works. Mike being an engineer really helped out there.

It was a dreary day, and Maia was sick already, so we just stayed inside. At 7, Uncle Jeff & Derek were here for band practice. We played a couple hours, and then after that I caved and let the kids stay up with me and watch Matilda. (Roald Dahl is probably my favorite children’s author.) It was really late when it was over, but neither of them fell asleep until it was over!

Sunday my mom stopped by on her way home from church, and while she was here I ran downtown and bought four lasagna dinners (I was expecting hot dogs and pasta salad!) at the benefit dinner for my cousin Joey. He is trying to raise enough money to go on a mission trip to Liberia. LIBERIA! He is just a kid! Being a follower of the news, I know that Liberia is one of the most volatile and dangerous places on the planet!

BUT, we must go as we have been called, and I am sure that he will have a safe trip; one that will definitely be a changing experience for this young man. Please keep him and the mission in your prayers.

After lunch the kids and I planted some seeds. I wrote about that on my blog: elysiumeveryday.blogspot.com

Happy May Day Girls!
Remember when you were young (some of us older gals anyway) and we would make paper & lace may baskets and fill them with flowers and hang them on peoples doors, knock and then run real quickly and hide and watch them find them...much to their delight and ours too! I kind of miss the simplicity of those sort of fun times as a kid.
We had to create our own kind of fun rather than have everything handed to us. I can remember sitting for hours out in the grass making clover or dandelion necklaces or even flower crowns for our hair. "Those were the days my friends...we thought they'd never end...oh, yes those were the days!" (care to sing along?)

My sleep has been weird the last week. I go to bed about 1:00 to 2:00 am then sleep until 5:00 or 6:00 and then find myself wide awake. So, I get up, make some coffee, or hot chocolate and work in my office for awhile, and putz
around the kitchen...and then after about four hours...I'm pooped again and go back to bed for awhile. It's rather an irritating schedule...because I have to be somewhat quiet so my DH and dog can sleep...while I am up.

Judy...
I have been reading your cat mystery at night. Pretty entertaining...for a quick read. I have decided what I am going to do when I am done with it...is pick a name (randomly) off the original list and then mail the book to them, with a few other goodies. I will include the original list and then they can do the same thing when they are done. They will pick some one off the original list and pass it on (eventually everyone who signed up for this drawing is going to get to read this book). Whatcha think about this idea?????

Julie...thanks for sharing all the pictures! Neat that you got to hook-up with some other farmgirls! The Clamper was really cute! Also, liked your bear that you made. I understand not wanting to assemble them though! That is a lot of work! Adorable kitties too. I love them when they are babies...not so much when they grow up. I guess being extremely allergic to them kind of makes a difference in my attitude towards them. I am a dog person through and through.

Angela...I have never been a menu planner. Even though I am an organized person...I always have liked letting my stomach dictate my meals for the day! LOl
I don't even really envy women who can do the meal planning for an entire month and freeze everything and have it on hand. Just sounds like a lot of extra work to me. Ha Ha! Maybe I am just organzied but lazy...I don't know.
But my hats off to those of you who must have your menu's and agenda's. I use to be an agenda person...until one day I heard God say to me (in that still small voice within) do you ever ask me what is on My Agenda for you today? WOW! I was convicted!!!! So, now I let him do the agenda writing and I try to go along with His program. I found when I had my own agenda going...I got upset and frustrated when I had continual unforseen interuptions. That is when I began to understand that those interuptions...were God's agenda messing with mine.
And who was I to be mad at God's plan for our day?

Madame Butterfly gets recess duty too!
No teachers lounge to go grab a quick cup of tea while the little butterflies are out flying????
I enjoy checking out your blog once in awhile girlie!!! Gives me deeper glimpses into your beautiful heart.

Cherime...when do you get to retire? Yes, God will provide for you and me and all of us. We just sometimes get in a temporary panic wondering how He is going to handle it all...but He does! I have always loved His math! He can help you stretch a dollar beyond what is humanly possible.

Netty...Oh, sweetie don't even think I thought you were upset. Sorry, my mind hadn't even gone there. I could just relate is all! LOL

Debbie...I can't take credit for any of the flowers in this yard. I was blessed to move in to a house with beautiful flowers, flowering bushes, and flowering trees and I have been so enjoying the benefits of other people's hard work. It's a very pretty spring yard. Not a lot going on in the dead of summer though...so, I am just taking advantage of all the beauty around me and thanking God for the blessings of His handi-work.

Dianne...thanks for your prayers. I feel comfortable that God will provide a more affordable appartment for us or he will change my husbands job situation so that we can stay here. I would prefer not to move...but God knows best. I just really hate penny pinching all the time...and feeling like I have to continually make hard choices on everything I purchase. I did that constantly while the kids were being raised and now in my empty nest years...I thought I might get more of a break and we were for awhile...and it spoiled me. And I enjoyed it!!!! Maybe too much!

Ruthie...oh you poor girl...what a frustrating day that must have been for you. ~ Your dinner sounded like a wonderful way to end a not so great of a day! I liked your swifter idea. There are patterns on how to crochet swifter coverlets. Just google it! You can find everything and anything on the internet. But your own idea...sounds like it would work sensationally to me.

Sarah...the house we are renting actually belongs to the woman that my husband and son work for. She has her own property management company. She normally rents this house for 1,600 per month and she is renting to us at 950.00. Which is a great deal...if we werent living on fixed incomes. She is taking a loss, out of the kindness of her heart already and at first I really saw that as a God send. But the utilities and yard up keep and all the other things like that are the real killer...compared to apartment living.
My husband is insisting that he is going to get a cheap lawn mower and start doing the yard himself. He is 69 yrs old and works a job where he is at a computer all day. He has heart problems and is over-weight. I see a heart attack in the making...thinking he can do all this yard work. I felt like I was going to have a stroke one evening trying to dig a garden spot and I am 9 yrs younger than him. I finally listened to my body and said, "Hey, I think we can skip the garden this year." So, those are the kinds of things I worry about living in a house. We have only been here 6 months...but it has opened my eyes wide...to why we lived in Apartments for the past 10 yrs.
At our age and with our health issues...it is enough just to take care of the inside of our living space. And my DH can't even seem to do that. LOL
Keep praying for us...I know, God has a plan and a purpose.
One good thing...God is providing rain all this week...so Larry can't mow the lawn even if he wanted to. God knows what he's doing!!!!!

Well, girls...off to prepare my bible study lesson for Thursday Night.

Have a Wonderful Day and Be a Blessing to Some One today,

Hugs,
Peggy

Hey Porchies! You wouldn't even know my middle DD had surgery yesterday! She is doin great, no pain, and back to her same self. Oldest DD said she wanted to thump her sister's head thoroughly! She had surgery 3 days before her and she still isn't feelin well. She sees that as unfair since hers wasn't from her own doin like little sis's was! I told her it was because she was gettin old and didn't heal as well! LOL! That's what she always tells me!

Ruth Ann...I think the rug yarn would be perfect for moppin and sweepin pads myself. I don't know how to crotchet or knit, so I don't know how difficult it would be, but I would think at least worth a try. Go for it! Would you mind sharin that pumpkin puddin recipe? I love pumpkin and have a bunch frozen and a few stored pumpkins still left from last years garden.

Sarah...Sounds like you had a fun and very busy weekend. I love weekends where you get to play and visit with people!

Peggy...I looked at a lot of apartments and had to wait for 4 weeks to even get in to see this one we are in. It needed tons of repairs and still needs work. It was the biggest, most lienient, and cheapest we looked at. It just feels like home, too. It's hard, but worth it to be picky. You will find the right place.

Well, I'm off to put a chicken in the crockpot and get started on those cinny rolls I want so bad. I think I will split the dough in half and compare store bought regular cinnamon to my special vietnamese cinnamon. That should be neat! I also have to go to the store for groceries later. I'm hopin the rain will stop this afternoon like they say.

Hi all -

Just a quick note and update. I am in Vermont taking care of my mother. She had a bad heart problem last week and is now waiting for mitral valve replacement surgery. I'll only be able to be in touch sporadically since I don't ever know where I'm going to find wifi service. I'd really appreciate your prayers for her. She is 83 years old and is terrified of having this surgery done, but knows it has to be.

I have been in touch with my swap partner, Angela, and she understands my predicament. I promise I will fulfill my swap as soon as I get home or get an opportunity to do some shopping. Right now I'm with Mom 24/7 waiting for the surgery to take place.

Hugs to all -

Luanne

Sorry I've been gone so long.
Sunday Central coast Chorale had our concert and it was great. We sounded great. I was so happy. I'm also in the college choir, and we did three songs on our own. Also great.
Now I'm really depressed. Don't know if it is reaction or because I've been missing meds lately, I think. Or just life. I'm overwhelmed, and lonely and don't see any point in anything.
And I need to at least tidy up the house because it wil be for sale soon.

Praying for you and your mom luanne.

Hey Girls, Oh what a beautiful day we have had here in Nebraska. In the 80's with the wind blowing really nice. When I look out at our wheat field I just love how it looks like waves rolling in the ocean.
How I miss seeing the real ocean at times.

Luanne, I am so sorry to hear about your mom, I sure hope the surgery goes well for her. I can relate with her about being scared before surgery. Sometimes we can think the worst.

Peggy thanks so much for the May basket, it is so cute and thoughtful.
Yes I do miss the days gone by and how simple things seemed to be when I was a kid. I remember sneaking one of my moms big serving spoons and going outside with it to make a road for my little cars to drive on, she didn't like me using her spoons out in that old dirt.

Sarah
Tell Maia congrats on getting her first badge, that is very impressive
and she should be proud of herself!!!!

Ruthie, Oh I hate it when I run to town and forget somethin
especially with the gas as high as it is.

I am so pooped, we had to give our baby calves their baby shots today. First we had to get the cows and calves into the lot from the pasture, then we seperated the calves from the moms, now if that isn't fun. After we got all the calves shots we loaded them all on to a trailer and let the mothers follow the trailer to a differnt pasure. I run the head gate on the shute, I have to wait until my brother in-law brings the calf up to the head gate, I catch them by neck and then my husband gives them a shot. I let them go and we do it all over again for 56 more times. Just lovely. I tell it is a lot of work. On the last 2 calves, they are 1 day old and one of the mothers was very very protective of her baby. She made me very nervous and usally they don't bother me to much. So I did not take my eye off of her.
I put a chicken and baked potatoes in the oven for dinner and when I got it out for lunch, it was not done. I was so mad and I don't think the guys were to happy with just almost done potatoes and green beans. Oh well, they need to take me out to eat when we work cattle!!

Well I had better let you all go for now, my daughter Tiffany is here to go to the flower place to get some flowers. I am so tired, but duty calls!

You all take care and talk at ya tomorrow.

Ok girls...want a good hardy laugh at my expense? I had Hubby take my "Farmgirl-500 Swap Box" to the P.O. today and when he got back we were eating McDonalds out under the trees and just enjoying a gorgeous day and discussing the Farmgirls, swaps and FGOTM....when.....out of the blue he says "Ya, I've been telling everyone at work that you were Miss January, I just didn't say of what!!!" AAACCCKKKKK!!!! WHAT!!!!????? I 'bout choked on a fry! My Mom said that everyone was probably dashing off to the Mini-Mart to buy a Scag-Rag just to see what Dave's wife looks like! ROFL NOT a proud moment for me!....ok....I can laugh....now....but then? NO!!

Angela I am glad you middle DD is doing great. I pray your oldest DD gets better quick. I bet your Oldest DD did not like to be reminded she is getting older. Mine sure dosen't. LOL

Ruth Ann you have more energy than anyone I know. I look at cleaning and get tired. LOL

Nan That was my day yesterday. I really didn't want to do anything. I made myself get on line and drop by the chats. It will pass. Some days life just does not make since. Prayin for you.

Lynette I agree, they should take you out to eat if you are out there working with them.
Sometimes I think guys get stuck in the caveman days. LOL

Judy Oh My. I don't know what I would have done in your place. LOL

Warm with a bit of a breeze here today. They are calling for party cloudy and cool all week. I was hoping May would be different than April.

Woo woo Judy... I have never heard of it called a scag rag before.

Nan, you might be having stress letdown. Once a stressful situation passes, we can lose all our energy and feel down. You'll bounce back soon.

Thanks, y'all, for the encouraging words. It's worst in the morning. I saw my P.A. today, and she said that I need to get back to exercising too. I haven't been and I KNOW that makes a big difference. So back to the pool tomorrow.

Thanks for the prayers. I'm praying for you all too.
