Hi Farmgirls!

MMMmmmm, mmmm. I am making one of my favorite meals for my dd and dh tonight. Homemade Texas chili, served with fresh buttermilk cornbread baking in my cast iron skillet. Will top the chili off with cheese and sour cream, and wash it all down with fresh-brewed ice tea! It's a chilly night out, so it's a "chili" night in! Wishing I had a kitchen-full of farmgirls to share it with!

Does anyone else have anything yummy you're cooking up tonight?

Farmgirl Hugs,

Nicole

I made too much minestrone soup and put some in freezer. Warmed up soup tonight. Soup tasted better tonight than when I made fresh.
I have to be GF and the pasta absorbed the flavor of the stewed tomatoes-yum!

Today's good mood brought to you by a lot of coffee!!!

Early supper tonight was beef with broccoli. Tomorrow I will add egg noodles to the leftovers for my lunch.

Tonight's early supper was simple, black bean salsa, fancy crackers, and a glass of Merlot.

Judith enjoy your ham for supper. Sometimes we just have to feed our cravings.

Tara, breakfast for supper is one of my favorite things.

Judith, liverwurst sandwiches are one of my favorite things, though I don't ever remember having one with yogurt. Saw Martha Stewart on TV talking about having a liverwurst sandwich with a thick slice of red onion, so we are in good company.

We had fajita's last night as well. Homemade tortillas to boot. I used sirloin steak, and boy were they good. I found a recipe off the internet and will be putting this in my recipe box.

I was being lazy tonight,,, so tonight was Frajita night!

I keep flour tortillas in the freezer for quickie Frajitas or breakfast burritos.

Judith, that would be my husband’s dream! We are very friendly with our neighbors and have them over quite a bit. As it is, we’re the “food people” and usually have extra of whatever we are making, and our neighbors help us out by eating it! So we’re lucky to have extra testers.

Love Italian sausage! We used to have a butcher neighbor and DH would help him out on Italian sausage day and come home with some. My favorite for sure but only if it is mild and not hotter than blazes.

Hockey night tonight, watching the Bruins! Phil’s latest culinary project was making sausage so we’re doing Italian sausage and pepper grinders #128523; Windy here all day, hopefully we won’t lose power! We’ve been lucky so far. Strangely enough for March in MA, we are getting a warm front this week so we’ll be in the mid to upper 50’s the next few days! Might need to adjust dinner strategy #128514;

Venison stew is in the crockpot. My lovely 6 quart crockpot that I received for a birthday gift in 1975 died last year so I replaced it with a nice little 2 quart one that is a perfect size for the two of us.

Had an early supper with oven roasted sweet potatoes, rustic potato, and carrots in the olive oil with my dried tomatoes. The dried tomato infused olive oil added flavor to the roasted vegetables, and it was so good. I did remember to top the olive oil off, so the dried tomatoes were covered in the jar before I put it back into the fridge.

Curried chicken and rice with steamed zucchini tonight. Yesterday we were out shopping in the rain and went to Panera because it just seemed like a soup day.

Beef & sugar snap peas soup with canned tomatoes. As I have said before since I cook for one, I buy steaks on sale and use them for soups & stews.

Judith, I know everything you do must be a challenge for you. I am impressed with all you do in the kitchen and your beautiful handwork.

Lisa I miss writing about Pearl and her little adventures but with MS fatigue setting in after a couple of paragraphs it's hard for me to keep my train of thought going. Instead of writing my cozy mysteries I occasionally express myself here on the Farm.
