I'm looking for skirts just below the knee, down to the ankle. I'm about a size 6-8, depending on which store. I have preserves or candles...or I can pay for it too. Thank you!

This looks like a very old post.

Thrift shops around me have lots of skirts and quite a few broomstick ones. But the ones here are $2-5, not 25 cents. Let me know if you need more. Are you going to weear them or make them into something else?

Ok, I went through my closet and the skirts I was thinking of are not in there, so they are either still packed away or I already took them to the thrift store. I'll let you know if I find them!

Joyce, Here are the two skirts I found at our thrift store for a quarter each. Let me know if you want these. They seem to be in great shape. One is a small and the other says fits all, but looks the same size to me. They are not lined and not the heaviest material, but with leggings I would think they would be fine. The striped one is actually better looking than the picture. If you do want them I will wrap them and tell you what shipping is.

I actually love wearing skirts and dresses. Almost always have one on.
I found a wonderful store .... lovemyjeanskirt.com that costume makes skirts to your size/
They also have some ready made ones. I agree with some of the other posts ... thrift stores,
clearance sales and old jeans remade are great.

Oh Krystle this sounds wonderful!! Knee length or longer is perfect, and I think the biggest I could fit is probably a size 8. I would love the wool ones - are they lined? I have to admit...I'm allergic to wool, but I think they are so pretty! Usually if they are lined, and I wear my leggings underneath, it's far enough away from my skin, and as long as I don't touch it too much I'm OK :)

Joyce, I actually might have some. I'm purging my closet and anything I did not wear last year is getting "the boot". All my skirts are between size 6-10 and knee length or longer. I did have some wool ones at one time, would you be interested in them if I still have them?

Joyce, I plan on going in tomorrow and will grab them if they are still there. We can make arrangements once I have acquired the skirts. And yes, they are boomstick skirts. One navy and the other is a print. Both nice. Will let you know after tomorrow.

If you have some time, you could try converting jeans into a skirt. I'm not much of a seamstress and I was able to convert jeans into a skirt. There are a ton of tutorials for jean skirt conversions online. Just a thought ;)

Hi Kem - sure! I think they used to be called broomstick skirts, right? Maybe pm me your address so I can send you some money to cover shipping and the cost of the skirt. Thank you :)

Joyce, do you wear the long tiered flowing kind of skirts with drawstrings? I see we have a solid navy and a printed on in. Tomorrow is quarter day so could grab them if they are still there. Should add they go to the floor, but kind of light material. You would want to wear leggings or something under them.

I love long skirts too....I wear them all the time. I find them in catalogs sometimes and also see them on ebay. I get Appleseed's catalog and also Soft Surroundings. Norm Thompson has them too. Ebay will be the least expensive.

Hi Linda, Mainly I'm looking for winter skirts right now - but even lighter weight is something I should actually be searching for as I have few of those as well!

Joyce -

Salvation Army and Goodwill often have long skirts here. Are you looking for just winter skirts or also lighter weight skirts. I like wearing long skirts, too, and have several.

Joyce would denim work, also there is a heavier tan colored one too.

Yeah...I, too, have a hard time finding skirts that I like so I sometimes have to alter what I have or make them myself.
