I'm looking for skirts just below the knee, down to the ankle. I'm about a size 6-8, depending on which store. I have preserves or candles...or I can pay for it too. Thank you!

Sign up for zulily.com. This is the link for the current sale:

https://bay178.mail.live.com/?tid=cmN66Em5h45BGlEAAjfeSmKg2&fid=flinbox

Every few days they send an email with links to the company's offering deep discounts on a variety of clothing, accessories, shoes and children's clothing and toys. Maxi and midi skirts are prominent in the offerings. You should have no trouble finding the right garment at a good price. I am a ++ size so my options are somewhat more limited. <grrr> but nonetheless acceptable. Check it out.

Hi Marie - thank you! I've tried looking there - but I find it a bit difficult as I'm in Canada and the shipping is so much money. I was hoping I could find something on here ;)

Joyce, do you sew? How about buying some second hand jumpers or long dresses, cut them off where you want them and put elastic in the waste. They could be bigger than your size because the gathering of elastic could take up the slack AND....... they would already be hemmed if you cut off at the stomach or bust area.

I do, Kem, a little, however, the thrift stores here very rarely have skirts, dresses or jumpers. :( They mostly carry miniskirts or pants.

I also have a tough time finding longer skirts that I can wear around the house, in the garden (i.e. not straight and tight). I have found my favorites at our local Goodwill Stores. They carry high quality items that I could never afford new - like LL Bean, Coldwater Creek, and the like. I stop in every few weeks just to see what's new - I love it!

I have a skirt in a petite length--I measured it and it's 29 inches long. It's a large but I wore it when I was about a size 8. It has an elastic waist and a dark floral pattern--I can't post a picture cause my camera won't work. It has soft pleats all the way around. I outgrew it (I became undertall for my weight :0 . It's pretty. Let me know if you're interested.

I like preserves that are hard to find--especially if they come from the wild. Candles are nice if they're winter scents. But really, anything is OK. E-mail me with your address and I'll try to get it in the mail. I don't know how much postage to Canada is.

Joyce, our thrift stores have many long skirts. Of course 6-8s limit it a bit. I would be willing to send you some
If you would pay for them and shipping. How many would you like, what style, what weight, and colors? I do not want to make money on this, just trying to help out. Let me know. I volunteer at a thift store and Wednesdays are quarter days. Be happy to help. I have so many food and enviromental allergies I am not interested in a trade.

Yes, I sent you a private message through this site - it will come up in your email :) If you look where the date of your poster is - there are three little icons. The middle one - the paper with the envelope, is the one that I pressed to pm you.

Yeah...I, too, have a hard time finding skirts that I like so I sometimes have to alter what I have or make them myself.

Knit, crochet, spinning fiber, weave, quilt, sew, repurpose, recycle. Mom to 5 babies in the Furry Knuckle Choir and 1 very handsome young man!

Joyce -

Salvation Army and Goodwill often have long skirts here. Are you looking for just winter skirts or also lighter weight skirts. I like wearing long skirts, too, and have several.

Hi Linda, Mainly I'm looking for winter skirts right now - but even lighter weight is something I should actually be searching for as I have few of those as well!

I love long skirts too....I wear them all the time. I find them in catalogs sometimes and also see them on ebay. I get Appleseed's catalog and also Soft Surroundings. Norm Thompson has them too. Ebay will be the least expensive.

Joyce, do you wear the long tiered flowing kind of skirts with drawstrings? I see we have a solid navy and a printed on in. Tomorrow is quarter day so could grab them if they are still there. Should add they go to the floor, but kind of light material. You would want to wear leggings or something under them.

Hi Kem - sure! I think they used to be called broomstick skirts, right? Maybe pm me your address so I can send you some money to cover shipping and the cost of the skirt. Thank you :)
