Lisa, here's the list.

Royal Corona - Italian large lima bean - I do not can this bean it is
too large for pints but it is one of my favorite beans

Pinto Beans

Mayocoba Beans - yellow bean kin to pintos.

King City Pink Beans - kin to pintos

Green Baby Lima Beans - I like them in veg soup & as a side dish.

Ayocote Negro Beans - first time to try this black bean - it's larger
than the turtle black bean I usually can.

Black eye-peas and eye of the goat beans were out of stock. I'm on their wait list.

Krista you can find lots of recipes on pinterest for cranberry juice. It is so simple to do. Put berries and sugar, if you want in a jar. Add boiling water and water bath can. Then it sits for a month or two and you strain and drink. A cup to cup and a half in a quart jar, however much you want of berries.
Sara that is quite a variety of beans you do, amazing. I want to try a home canned baked beans next.
Lisa good luck with your canning.

Michelle, I've been looking through my canning books for baked beans recipes, I may give it a try since I have navy beans on hand. What recipe are you using for your baked beans? I found one in my "The Complete Guide to Pressure Canning" book that I will probably use.

Sara I had seen a recipe on facebook for "better then bush's baked beans". I will compare that to the recipe you are mentioning and see if they are close to the same or not. I was thinking about switching out the navy bean for great northern beans, as that is what we always used to make baked beans. Have not done it yet though. Yesterday I used a gallon bag of cranberries I had frozen, canning juice and trying some Christmas jam.

Michelle the recipe I will be using calls for either navy or great northern beans. I prefer great northern beans but I have navy beans that I want to use up. I like this recipe because it calls for ketchup, apple cider vinegar, and mustard which is what I used when I use to make baked beans. Another thing about this recipe it calls for uncured bacon instead of salt pork. Salt pork is hard to find in Paris stores and when you do find it, it is so expensive.

Great job on juicing the cranberries and making Christmas jam.

Yesterday I put up 5 pints baked beans and they all sealed. The recipe said it would make 5 pints and it made exactly that much with not a spoon full to spare.

Great job Sara. The canning gods were with you, coming out exactly like that. lol Be sure to let us know how you like the baked beans. I am up before the chickens this morning, ugh. 9 quarts of stock canned yesterday, along with 8 pints and 1 quart of cut up chicken. All sealed. I made sure to wipe the rims well with vinegar. I will pull out another bag of chicken backs and parts for a batch of stock today. I think my ma will take some. I have to get jars from her, as I have 2 quart jars left. Running out of canning shelf space too.

I put off doing more stock till Tuesday. Took Sunday off, I picked out a Christmas tree and tagged them with my ma, and of course watched the Packer game. Now the hope is to find those tagged trees when we are ready to put them up. hahaha

Got one last bag of backs to make into stock today. Yesterdays canning I have three fails on seals. One was my own fault, turns out the jar was one of the off brands that the rings don't fit tight on. Not sure why I did not notice it did not tighten down. I will be throwing that jar out. I will throw that stock back in the pot with todays and hope for the best. When canning stock, I take my jars out of the canner and they go crazy. The lids pop up and down many many times. Superb, ball, and kerr lids all do it. Must have something to do with the stock still boiling in the jar when I take it out.

Michelle, like you I am weeding out the odd jar or ring that doesn't work. Great job on canning stock.

Canning black beans this morning. Jars in the canner warming up and beans cooking for 30 minutes on the stove. Everything is ready to start canning.

Canned 7 pints black beans and one did not seal, guess what I am having for lunch tomorrow. Prepping Whipple beans to can tomorrow then I will take a break from canning till next week. This old girl can't hang in there like I used to.

You do a great job Sara. We all are slowing down a bit, but we can still out work many that are younger. 10 plus jars of stock yesterday, and I am done. Really got to make sure I crank down on the superb lids when pressure canning. They loosen up, and I had one almost off when I took it out of the canner. I know I did not put it in that way. I will use that jar next week when making turkey and dressing. I went last night and helped a friend can her first venison. I lent her my electric canner to try and see if she likes it. I think she is hooked. haha. Happy canning everyone. I am done till after Thanksgiving, when I will make carcass soup and can.

Michelle, you did good with your stock & helping a friend to can venison.

Yesterday I put up 7 pints of Whipple beans & they all sealed. I followed Michelle's lead and cranked down on the superb lids. I like using superb lids when I have a mix of jars.

Good job Sara! I always go past finger tight but not too tight. I've had good luck with the Superb lids and I like the way they clunk. I feel like I may need to have my canning badge taken away this year. I have been so lame

Lisa, life goes on whether we can or not. You are busy with dog shows, working, and looking after your homestead which takes time and energy. One thing about canning there is always tomorrow or next season.

You all have probably already had this question but what brand of pressure canner do you recommend? All I can find is pressure cookers. I want to do some things that I need a pressure canner for.

My stove top one is a very old All American. All American is top of the line, and you pay for it too. I recently found out that is was made somewhere between 1930 and 1944. I had to replace the gauge, and contacted the factory. It was given to me for mending a pair of pants for a guy. For being that old, it works great. I do have to watch it constantly to adjust the heat. You don't do anything else, but watch that canner.
The electric one I have is a 12 quart Presto electric pressure canner/water bath canner. I love it. I don't have to babysit it, as I call it, once the regulator is on. It does take longer to cool down though. It works on the same principal as the stove top ones. Good luck Denise in deciding what you would like.

I have a smaller Presto pressure & water bath electric canner. It holds 7 pints & 4 wide mouth quarts. It says it will hold 5 reg mouth quarts but since I don't can quarts I don't know.
