Over the weekend, John and I cleared our peach tree of the remaining 2025 harvest. We picked 35 pounds! :) They are all preserved and living in the freezer. We estimate that we got about 65-70 pounds this year! We shared some with friends and family.

Wow Karen, was that all from one tree? That’s an amazing harvest either way.

Wow Karen that is a lot of peaches and a lot of work but so worth it. We are harvesting our Blackberries and apples a little at a time.

All one tree!! :) The peaches were smaller this year (might have been the weird spring). They are normally the size of softballs. This year, it was baseballs!
Heather, Me too!! I’d share with you and then we could go visit the bay cows and kittens!!

Karen, that is amazing! That is a lot of peaches. All those peaches are going to be so nice for later on. My peach tree is still new and didn't produce any fruit, but I am looking forward to next year!

Hey Karen, since we don’t have a Peach Tree we have to go up to ‘GreenBluff’ over in Spokane… and went to one of the’ U-Pick’ farms. For our peaches.. yep, blanched, sliced and in the freezer.. I did make a peach cobbler.. oh my stars! So yummy… I kept a few in the fridge for snacking on…

I think peaches can be dehydrated, but I never have, has anyone dehydrated their peaches and if so, any tips?

Wow, Karen, what a wonderful gift from Mother Nature to have so many perfect peaches that you could put away and enjoy now! They look so big and beautiful too.

I dehydrate a lot of peaches (3 boxes of them this year). I cut them into 4 or 6 pieces, depending on how big the peach is, peel them, and cut the red part from the pit out, then stick them in the dehydrator. I put all my dehydrated fruit and herbs in mylar bags in the freezer. (I used to use jars, but they took up too much space.) That way they don't pick up any flavors in the freezer and they last for a while. I did find some peaches in a bag that got lost under some other things and they were still good 11 months after I put them in there :)
