If you have a young child or grandchild this would be a great project to prepare for next October. This can be completed sewing by hand or machine - and you have until October.
Someone read this book in my quilting group in October. The book is called The Little Ghost Who Was a Quilt, and the ghost in the book is not a white sheet like his friends; he is a quilt of blue and white squares. At first he doesn't like being different from all the other ghosts, until a little girl picks him up and takes him home with her. When he sees the comfort he can bring to someone in need he becomes happy with being different.
The person reading the book had made a blue and white quilt that she showed to us when she read the book. During that meeting, before she was even done reading the book, I went to Amazon and bought the book for my newest grandson. I have a lot of blue and white fabrics and plan to make a small quilt to go along with this book as my first UFO project for 2025.
I'm still deciding on what size to make the quilt. The reader's quilt was about crib size, made with about 3-1/2" to 4-1/2" squares. I was thinking about maybe a smaller doll-size quilt to use along with the book. Our grandson, not quite 2, likes to "read" to his stuffed animals, and I think he could use this quilt when he reads to his animal friends.
Anyone else want to make one?
