It has been a busy fall here in Wisconsin. All field crops and garden crops have been put up and ready to settle in for the winter. Lots of hay this year, that is a blessing. My canning shelves are full. Finally got the old hens taken care of and they are canned. Along with cleaning the coop out and 2 bales of straw shook out. The wood pile is cut and stacked. Been cutting once in a while for next years wood. Even though we only cut dead trees, it is nice to let the wood cure for a year before burning. I like to go out and cut any down trees I find, taking my time and enjoying the woods. Once it snows, I will quit. Don't like tripping on things I cannot see, haha. Even got to spend some time cleaning storage areas in the barn. That is super nice and hopefully I remember where I put stuff.

You have been busy! Now you can enjoy the fruits of your labor until Spring. Always feels good to have those canning shelves full, wood stocked, etc.

Sounds like you have everything buttoned down for winter. Take time out now to enjoy your beautiful farm and area, catch your breath and regroup, you deserve a break!

Michelle -- I think you've done well to prepare for winter and when that first snowflake falls you deserve a long winter's rest.

The forecast is showing the cold is coming. Next week I will have to put the heaters in the waterer for the cows and get a heater going for the chickens water. And can't forget the kitties water. I look forward to the ground freezing, so the cows and myself don't have to walk in the mud.

The work never ends on a farm no matter what the season is. It's great you love doing it all. Careful you don't fall in that mud! Please post pictures of your first snow when you can.
