This morning, I looked over at my next-door neighbor's house and found myself smiling. She had placed a toddler size bright blue Adirondack chair in front of the bushes along the side of her house that faces my raised beds. Had she placed it there for me to enjoy as I work in my garden?
I like things that make me smile. The unexpected little things that I come across during my day. The trick is to not miss them. Not to be in such a hurry to do what I am doing that I won't take the time to stop and really see and appreciate what is there to make me smile. To smile is a good thing and it's so good for the soul.

Sara your words of wisdom made me smile, and evidently your neighbor is letting you know that your garden makes her smile. A thing of beauty to linger and enjoy the view. I hope the rest of your day brings more smiles.
A day hemmed in prayer is less likely to unravel.

Thank you, Wanda and Dianna, for your sweet words. They encourage me and helps me to hang on to my peace.
If we wait for a big event to bring us joy than we may wait a long time because those joys are few and far between. Like Dianna said, "to keep smiling throughout the day".

I love to go out on my porch in the early mornings, and sit and enjoy the beauty around me. I have my coffee out there, and there is usually a cat around to jump on my lap and not only get lovin, but give lovin. I am also trying to keep flowers on my kitchen table again. It makes me smile. Currently I am picking sunflowers. Enjoy!

Debbie, Judith, and Michelle, all your words made me smile this morning, good way for me to start my day. Michelle like you I like to sit on my porch and watch my neighborhood come alive. Flowers on the kitchen table always brings a smile when I pass by.

Trees make me smile. New home going up next to mine and builder said he would save some trees towards the back. I know a hawk nests in 1 of those trees.
I like to see and hear the song birds feeding.

Tara -- trees make me smile too. I cried when the people across the street cut down their beautiful sycamore years ago. This morning I smiled watching the squirrels playing tag around our huge ash tree.

Well said Sara. I really like to find those moments myself. I was always told to live life like a toddler. Move slower through life, touch everything, explore your whole world, and take it all in.

I know that since I have had kids, I have really slowed down and enjoyed all the smaller things in life. Our world is too fast paced anymore.
