                      | Howdy! I just read a book on low carbon gardening. It had a suggestion for cooling a greenhouse in summer without electric fans that I decided to try out. I put shade cloth up but the one side gets baked most of the day. The book suggested growing annual beans or melon vines on the outside.
I used scarp material I had gotten for free from FB to build the beds and use some eco paint I had left over from another project. I filled the beds with brush and leaves before topping with soil. I used some fence posts and wire left behind by the previous owner and some more left over paint. Im happy with how it turned out. We shall see how it does over the summer!

                      | Shennandoah, your greenhouse has turned out beautifully. Well done. Our Texas heat is a force to be reckoned with, so shade cloth is a very good idea.

                      | Yes it is Sara. I learned last summer not to store plastic seed trays in there doh! Hope it’s not as bad as last year. And thank you. I built the foundation, greenhouse, benches, and exterior bed all by myself! im going to build a small shade house eventually for acclimating seedlings for the fall garden. |

                      | Oh Wow! Awesome.. and I like recycle goodies to use ..
A friend of mine down in Yakima, WA., used old metal roll-up garage doors, took them apart and then built her planter beds with them.. she used 4x4 wood posts that she scrounged up from friends to use in the corners to join the metal sided screwing the metal onto the 4x4's.
